Cheap pickings today at this price. May never be this low again.
Morning DieSlak, it's not the "loony left" as you put it, that are trying destroy mining in Ecuador. These people don't know anything about wokery (as you put it) or anything similar. Some of these people that you are taking a pop at know nothing but the rainforest. It's their very life, their very existence, it's their larder/their home!
These people need educating as to the benefits of responsible mining with regards to employment and financial security and long term benefits for families and communities.
They don't want the likes of the Slugs of this world to come in and trash their homes (the forest) for people to drive E/V's in lands that some have never heard of. Simple question to you Slug...."would you simply let someone onto your patch to destroy your home and generations of family tradition? A lot of these people want nothing more than what has been handed down to them from family generations for centuries. They need educating, and it takes time. Solgold are doing a great job of this around Cascabel and it will take a long time to convince all.
The UK was once a big sub-tropical rainforest....look at it now! Ecuadorian people are allowed a say in matters that affect them, even if you don't agree Slug! If only life was as simple as yourself!
These very proud people need educating......not brainwashing!
"Everyone should have been shouting about copper months ago, especially those involved in clean energy policy, but warnings have been few and far between. This started to change this past week as both Trafigura and Goldman Sachs started to sound the alarm on global copper supplies." Forbes
You never learn do you slug..........

Its been a nice weekend with ya slug , try hang around bud
Slug , can you tell Fort that please , he reckons solg could have 5 or 6. What a tool....
Monte - no they didn't. Comparing BHP and NCM with Jiangxi is comparing chalk and cheese.
BHP and NCM were supporting a company trying to delineate and develop a burgeoning asset. There were capital requirements and technical requirements that majors such as them were well placed to help and secure themselves a favourable standing with shareholders. Both were signed up to standstill agreements so I was blatantly obvious both would be long term holders.
Things have changed drastically now. The strategic review is ongoing and the company is being slimmed down at all levels.
The only ways we're progressing Cascabel is to relocate communities and secure permits, so there's basically no need for a third major on the register.
BHP have an Ecuadorian exploration office. They fully get the need to open up new jurisdictions. The rampers (hi, fort!) want us to believe that means an imminent TO for solg, or fuel for a bidding war. The realists believe BHP will use some of the time they have (that's what huge cash and regular divs to your funds buys you) to explore. If the geology isn't fruitful, and we've somehow happened upon the only big discovery, they'll be more interested. More likely they'll find something within their timeline - after all, fort says we alone could have 5-6 more tier 1s....
Montecristo, have you had a look at the other smaller miners out there which BHP have taken smaller positions in over the last few years.
You know about Noront. Got their buts whipped on that one by Wyloo. You probably also know about Mincor... recently Wyloo made a dart for them and BHP also have a small holding.
See a pattern emerging?
You'll know about it when they are all ready.
People have said for years, that it served no purpose for BHP and Newcrest to hold 8-10% of shares, yet here we are a few years down the line and guess what? They still hold their shares and no bid came to date.
It's a waste of time to try and second guess what's happening here.
The big buys need to wake up then get this bought!!!
!!! "IInvestments of US$11bn in seven projects planned to start production in coming years are expected. The projects are La Plata (polymetallic mine), Curipamba (copper and gold), Loma Larga (gold and silver), Mirador Norte (copper) – part of the Mirador concession – Ruta del Cobre (copper), Cascabel (gold, silver and copper), and Warintza (copper).".
Oh I see Kat, did the wind change from east to west ? or have you got serious splinters on your backside ?
"Destroying the Ukrainian military is one of the stated aims, and is going along very nicely, with estimated 200,000 dead and same wounded"
Really sounds like you you are trying to understand intricacies and realities of this horror show ... Now who's virtue signalling ?
Oh stop the furious virtue-signalling Novice. I am speaking from a Rus perspective.
My own personal view is that this is a tragedy for all parties involved. I am on the side of the ordinary citizens of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and all other poor ordinary sods who are caught up in this. Without doxxing myself, I am talking with and working with both Ukrainian and Russian families and their children, hence why I try and understand the intricacies and realities of this horror show.
My enemies are the 'leaders', media and others who are driving this for their own evil ends.
And you're proud or approve of the fact that 200,000 dead and same wounded human beings ? clearly as you think its going along very nicely!!! You're an effing disgrace to humanity Kat and I hope you meet an end that befits your ideals and thoughts !
Shocking ...
Why do you think that ? There was an initial dash to around Kiev, to put pressure on Uke to negotiate, but when that didn't occur they withdrew again. They only had 60k troops around the area, nowhere near enough to capture a city with 1 million + inhabitants.
Capturing Kiev was never a stated aim of the SMO ( see the earlier thread )
Likewise with the summer withdrawals from Khersan and Kharkov. Notice that the capture of territory outside the Donbas is not on the Rus list. They withdrew in a fairly orderly fashion to save Rus lives, then bombarded the Ukes as they entered those areas. Estimated Uke losses up to 3 brigades worth of troops and weapons in ensuing barrage. likewise with Bakhmut, another Ukie trap as Zelenskyy pours more and more units into the meatgrinder. Destroying the Ukrainian military is one of the stated aims, and is going along very nicely, with estimated 200,000 dead and same wounded.
If the Ukies were winning, why would EU / USA keep having to send more and more weapons systems, of an ever-growing sophistication and cost ?
Gino - if such an offer materialised and the board recommended it, any competitor would have only a short timeframe to prepare a counter, so it would act as a free roll of the dice for shareholders.
If no such counter offer was tabled, I don't expect many shareholders would reject the recommended offer just to see if someone else was going to offer more at a later date.
That's why it's crucial Bob gets the job done.
To put it another way and to use RK's logic, Jiangxi have just come on board. It serves them no purpose to hold 5.2% of shares in issue. What purpose does that serve them given our inability to progress Cascabel? If they haven't submitted an offer in the next month then what are they doing?
The conundrum is what happens between now and then. If you know what I mean...
The last 12 months have been filth in terms of SP performance. The next 1-3 months are going to be intriguing.
Just wondering if those who say they would take first offer of 30 - 40p would actually throw in the towel there and then! Whilst it may sound attractive down here in the gutter, surely it would make sense to hang on in for a while and see if other bids were forthcoming, if not to lift us to the stars, then at least back onto the pavement?
Kat, at which point did getting their asses handed to them outside kyiv fit into the plan of retaking donbas?
RK, one point: You say 'Sangha is not an insider'. He most certainly is.
