wonderful day folks. It's going to be a rather topsy turvy ride (always is with SLP) that doesn't always make sense, but I've been here long enough to understand the patterns (though I'm absolutely no chartist - haven't the foggiest) and SLP has and is only making driving in one direction. NORTH.
£1.25 February 28th.
:)
Every time SP hits 117p it goes back down again. Lets hope it breaches that today and stay above at close otherwise ......
Isn't it just :)
This share is a thing of beauty!
:)
SLP is blessed with a particularly high rhodium content in the ore it is processing; seemingly the highest of any producer. (Tharisa (THS) seems to be in second place). As a result, rhodium is the largest contributor to SLP's revenues.
Rhodium supply is inelastic and no significant new supply is expected to come online for some time. Its main industrial use is in catalytic converters. Overall, the rhodium market is in a prolonged deficit.
So this, from the JMAT report, goes to show that the current price shouldn't be a short-term spike, but a medium term phenomenon:
"Rhodium’s share of autocatalyst pgm use has risen slightly
over the last three years, in response to tightening emission legislation and more rigorous vehicle testing protocols that
have made compliance with NOx limits considerably more challenging. Substitution of palladium with platinum is not expected to have a material impact on rhodium use in gasoline vehicles, because the latter is by far the most effective catalyst for NOx reduction. Rhodium loadings continue to edge
upwards in Europe and North America, as a higher proportion of vehicles meet Euro 6d and SULEV standards. However, we expect Chinese automakers to achieve some modest rhodium thrifting this year and next, ahead of the introduction of RDE testing in 2023. While the precise details of the Chinese RDE protocol have not yet been confirmed, the European experience suggests that rhodium loadings may need to rise again to ensure compliance with RDE testing under China 6b legislation."
If that (and the rest of the report) is right, then the cash will keep on rolling in for SLP, and the share price should go on rising.
Based on various investment tools SLP has a long way to go .. Simply Wall St , Stockopedia, Vector vest average ~190. And that was before Platinum took off. Strongly endorsed by Investor Chronicle & Motley Fool. My own dcf suggests at least 200p.of course one has to factor in SAfrican risks. ( currency , Power, host mines). However it would be a good bet up to 150 IMO.. with Ups1de if PGM price bonanza holds. Remember Rhodium apart , most metals are at the base of a long bear market so good possibility of further increases. Good luck all !

IC have a target price of 145p and if they announce the special dividend on the 22nd Feb update then this should continue to climb to that target IMHO, as always DYOR but this continues to be a multi bagger. GLA
Hi Tiger
Thanks for your opinion Cheers
Hi Midastouch!
Yes, everything has its limit. But I'm here since 8.2p, and SLP is still going strong, as are PGM prices. (It's worth reading the JMAT report that Bangrak posted just below).
If SLP announce in their interims that they are using their cash mountain to expand production (perhaps by developing Volspruit cheaply), then I think SLP could rise yet more. The expected special dividend should help as well.
Hope not I bought at 114, with the way platinum has been rising recently this should go higher.
I ve been here since 22 p and she was coming up steady and I really like this share She is my 'never disappointing beauty / But as it is important to know when to buy is also important to know when to sell Do you think guys its her limit ?
PGM pricing on a tear...4th qtr Production recovery... cash pile converted into $ growing ... interims on 23rd which will show the powerful free cashflow .. and then Simon Thompson , Motley Fool, etc basking in their well deserved foresight. Full steam ahead !
Platinum bullion up in Dollars: -
4.85% today, 12.03% in the week, 39.44% in the month. Sylvania has much more to come.

Overexcitement about coming SP rises probably, nah, you don't wanna go down that road.
I mean I'm not, FYI. Whatever floats ya boat however :)
Agreed :)
And the reference to 'strap on'... most concerning
Craig - absolutely nothing :)
Stoodio I'm concerned as to what an anal ist is in regards to PGMs
This anal ist has this at £1.25 in T- minus 12 days boys and girls. Strap on or strap in and enjoy the ride :)
