Results really aren't that bad at all. I'm looking to get into here - but waiting for the right price. There's enough cash and assets to support a long-term dividend at current levels (IMO). The move into China looks interesting. 8% Dividend - you can't go wrong. My target over the next 15 years is to have a portfolio that yields around £30k pa in dividends (miles away at the moment...). This looks to be a good candidate to add to help achieve that! :)
GLA!
I bailed here in April at around 277 ex dividend ... so back in between 257 and 249 ....
Fingers crossed.
I'll continue to add at these levels and reinvest dividends, I also like that we are making moves in India and China so see this as long tern value play.

Can't understand the market these days. ABC co declares profits down but less down than expected, so SP increases! SLA declares profits down and SP declines but did the same 'experts' expect anything else? It's a lark these days!
Also, the SP has been run down for few days. Leak? Hard to prove not!
WOW i didn't see that coming this morning. 260p now
More than happy with the 8.5% 'normal' yield! A solid long term hold I'd say.
There'll be no special divi. ..did you not see the EPS figure?
SP drop a bit harsh.
Solid set of results, good to see the outflow has slowed down, share price will be influenced by world markets over the next few months but this is off set by the healthy Div. Good long term hold.
Building on our resilience

· Net outflows have reduced and remain concentrated in a small number of strategies with gross inflows well diversified
· Improvement in investment performance with 65% (FY 2018: 50%) of AUM above benchmark over three years
· Delivery of cost efficiencies on track with actions taken to date to deliver £234m of the £350m per annum targeted
· IFRS profit after tax of £636m, benefiting from sale of 6.21% of HDFC Life, with adjusted profit before tax of £280m
· Adjusted diluted EPS up to 8.9p (H1 2018: 8.2p)
· Unchanged interim dividend of 7.3p
You need treatment . God help you. Go back on the Tablets.
I would hope not. This £140m is to account for future loss of profit. It would be naive to pay it out as a special dividend. I hope it is used to bring more assets in.
Could mean a special dividend.
In addition, the SLA Group will receive an upfront payment of £140 million from LBG as final settlement to compensate for loss of profit in relation to the Transferring AUM.
The settlement with lloy looks like good news , £120m is significant and hopefully sp will rise!
A lot of the index rise is due to a weak pound and the risk of a no-deal brexit. Most of the Boris news should be factored in, considering he was the favourite, pre-election.
FTSE 100 is up 80 points looks like the city likes Mr. Johnson.
Doesn't the fine relate to that part of SLA which is now owned by Phoenix Group and as such does not affect SLA as now is?

Nice piece of news and the compensation will help pay the FCA fine!

Correct Tune1. As an ex-employee of SL I can assure that not everyone is on great wages and driving company cars but that's the media misinformation for you in suggesting all financial service staff are in that position - many struggle to make ends meet just like anyone else but here are some who are very well paid there is no doubt. I cannot deny the pension is generous. As you note, investments go down as well as up. Anyone with a pension should be reviewing that regularly and seeking professional advice if need be to make sure their strategy is making the most of the situation.
".....everyone on great wages ,great pensions and lovely cars on expenses"? How you know that? One angry person. Only rule of any Investment, values go down as well as up. Nuff said.
Huge company, everyone on great wages ,great pensions and lovely cars on expenses...thats great and we would all hope for that, but...my investment in this company is worth half what it was worth 2 years ago, and anyone with a workplace pension with SL should check out the performance tables...NEST the government default scheme with all its red tape and stuff managed a return of 7.9% SL among the worst with 3.9% ..... They could and should do much better...
