SL. has enjoyed a nice little run over the last 4 days from 3.31. Long may it continue. Best of luck.
368.03 +14.33 (4.05%)
11.6%??
Good day up 11.6%
They made plans for a Scotland split so I'm sure they have plans for whatever form of Brexit we get too, including opening an EU version if that is needed. We might get some shares in NonStandard Life! Short term might be good getting euros but that might tank at some stage if they keep printing money and not sorting out the fundamentals. Makes you wonder who will end up paying our share of the hard Brexit pie. Just keep paying me the growing divis and I think I'll be happy whilst everyone bun fights.
I agree with price_watcher. SL is, indeed, a global Company. It is a known fact that although SL's chairman, Sir Gerry Grimstone, is a firm "Remainer" (unlike myself!) and that was made clear in the run up to the Referendum, I would be very surprised if they did ever vacate their Edinburgh premises. What would be the point?
SL already have premises in Frankfurt, and across the globe, as a global company it should be no surprise from time to time they expand their operations in some areas and seek new accommodation to cope. The 'implication' is 'frankly' nonsense (pun intended).
Report in Bloomberg today that SL are looking for premises in Frankfurt, the implication being that they plan to move their HQ out of the UK in light of Brexit. Is this true ??
HSBC doesn't even seem to agree with itself. HSBC lowered Standard Life Plc to a “hold” rating and increased their target price for the stock from GBX 360 ($4.39) to GBX 405 ($4.94)
Gerry557 The very best of luck what ever you do with it Buddy......................LOL
Kenny100, One thing that we might agree on is that the brokers cant agree. Nice to have the divi in the "pot" Not sure what to do with it right now having done x2 top ups recently. It might have to find a new home.
INFO just arrived in the post :+}}
...tomorrow the 19th.
Cant believe its not valid uk wide, must be a real issue if you live close to the boarder. I remembered your quote even if I didnt remember that it was you that said it. Maybe I need a bus pass! Getting back to post brexit blues and also keeping at least one eye open. Was thinking about placing some limit orders with silly prices just incase there is a flash crash. ATB.
Gerry, I can't deny that it was, indeed, I who said £3.30 was my favoured purchase level. I have purchased two lots below that level in the last 6 months or so. Not sure I said it was a steal but you get my drift. Just to clarify, you normally get your "Old Gits Bus Pass" at age 60 but I felt a bit like Adrian Mole and had to wait until I was 61 and 3/4. Also it sadly is only valid in England. I tried it on in Swansea a year ago but no chance. Anyway, I shall be watching SL over the next week or so and then make a judgement to invest again.
Tune congratulations on your (recent) birthday and bus pass. Hopefully you can enjoy those rainy days sat on the bus having some fantastic experiences. Hopefully the ducks do line up nicely for everyone and maybe you might be able to take the bus to the south of France or Spain on occasion too. Barclays 301p rating hitting today but maybe they read one of the previous comments on here who said anything under 330 or was it 300 was a steal. It might have even been your wise words
Its come off its lows hit by barclays broker report apparently
his this right down 6% today
As I have just turned 65, I now only do "now planning"! My "saving for a rainy day" has arrived and I am now, with a little help from Standard Life, drip-feeding those savings. But each to their own and I guess anyone younger than me would be wise to "put it into their pension pot". Not sure where we're going re Brexit discussions yet. Looks like the Government are intending to get as many of their ducks lined up before their first formal negotiation talks. I was a Brexiteer and my stance remains the same. "Fill your boots and let time do what it is best at".
I thought it was a happy face, maybe kenny is looking forward to the divi payout too. Havent worked out where to spend mine yet, maybe I need some of your advanced planning. I suppose its off into the pot again until something takes my fancy. Thought hard brexit talks might flush something out .... including this.
Thank you for that interpretation (which seems plausible) and also for your wise words. My recollection is Kenny100 has rarely, if ever, posted anything of real value on this BB so I shall, as you suggest, simply ignore him. On a more positive note, Interim Dividend Payment Date is a week tomorrow so something to look forward to. Mine is already committed!
If you turn the sign through 90 degrees yo can see it becomes something of a face, possibly with two chins. Wondering if it's supposed to represent one of those 'anarchy' 'clown' masks that pop up now and then. Anyway, click onto his name, look briefly at his posting history and think what you will. There have been warnings lately about clicking onto some links within postings on these boards. Treat with caution. For myself I would ignore this guy!
Can your good self, or indeed anyone on this BB, please enlighten me as to what :-}} actually means. Is it some sort of BB speak equivalent to texting? I await answers with baited breath!
