At least we know why the CEO left.. he was a decent bloke who clearly had board pressure to put up with..
Agreed. Look at the desciption of the guys from Bidco. Shrewed business men. Anything under 13.65 including this divi is a steal still.
Trouble is now that I really don't want to be involved with this lot if the bid is rejected.
Vote no they have 18.8% some shares are excluded due to conflicts of interest. They probably get to 40% tops with insti’s.
The quotes using upside to vwap are true but only made possible as Odey was a forced seller.
I get the liquidity concerns and need to cash out but not at this price ffs!
I can see another offer coming along at 15p and then bidco would have to increase. I suspect they are trying it on knowing that there are others out there that can be flushed out.
If they went in at 15p first hit and the Chinese showed up they’d end up paying much more so better start low.
HOLD for gold and even buy imo!
Usual caveats

I was in this at 9p and sold at 10.5 as every time the good gold grades were announced, nothing good ever happened to the sp. ALL AIM management are Cs
Just a hunch but I reckon this is an offer designed to draw out a counter offer by the Chinese businesses mentioned in the earlier bid talks.
It's too pony an offer to have credibility so by design looks set to attract counter offers. They've set the ball rolling imho.
I'm not a holder here but wish all the best. A counter offer nearer 16.5p to 18p levels could win through.
The whole things is a disgrace, the lack of news flows, the CEO (no new CEO) and COO quitting this year, the whole thing stinks to high heavens. It’s been sown up for those in the know to make money.
Shareholders have taken all the risk over the last few years, now it’s about to become a cash cow the rug is pulled out from under our feet, typical AIM.
You can also expect a great Q1 Report in January, but we all know that.
SHAMEFULL
This Offer/BId is UNACEPTABLE
Incompetent management!! Shocking!!
>>
Did the company ever release the value of the bids that were rejected last year? Connected party trying to acquire Shanta all smells a bit.
'"As a shareholder in Shanta, we remain supportive of management and their strategy. However, we believe that Shanta's share price may inhibit Shanta's ability to deliver on its strategy and potential to maximise future shareholder returns.'
Bolloc**, management have tons of options as the cash pile builds and builds. From $13m at the start of the year to what will be about $35m, fast forward a year and we'll be talking $70m. Huge buyback or special divis would deliver returns without having to take this private.
Would have been higher than 13.5p on the next trading update.
Shocking sell out.
Can’t see other bidders but you never know.
I'm going to vote against this in the hope it makes a difference.
Just checking the date is it April 1st?
What a pss take!
Profit is profit but this feels like a loss!
CBA’d to read it all as it won’t be taken serious!
Usual caveats

I sold my Shanta shares earlier this year and was gutted when I saw the headline in the RNS. just now. Then reading on, I’m shocked at how low the offer is given the potential of the company. This is daylight robbery I hope this gets voted down - maybe the Chinese can come in with more realistic counter offer. Shanta shareholders deserve better than this .
Fine print. The NED has a vested interest in the company taking us out. Utterly immoral.
Said takeover but not at 13.5p
Not invested here but followed Shanta for some time. 20p per share would be a good starting offer so something doesn't look right.
Totally derisory offer. How can the independent director support this.
The only hope is that this flushes out other serious bidders.
I see he's voting for it, did not expect this low. 15p as a starting big seemed reasonable to me although less to others I know.
No comment from Eric? If we can get this rejected then at least an increased big by 3 or 4p would be something...
Why such a low premium?
