" FWIW, I think MS kitchen-sinked the forecast and set a very low bar for 2024."
others have done the same ..SFOR are very US dependent and I suspect MS is aware that the forthcoming US election period could be calm or chaos , so he is being cautious and taking guidance on a quarter by quarter basis ...makes sense really
The forecast didn't certainly help the traders who got in hoping yesterday/past few days hoping for a quick payday today and hence the doomsday prognostications from them here today. FWIW, I think MS kitchen-sinked the forecast and set a very low bar for 2024. I don't think that he/the board minds a few months of sideways trading on the back of this forecast as I think that will help with the buybacks once they commence, and they will soon IMO. The share count projections for 2024 and 2025 point in that direction.
Me, I'm a glass half full chappie. It was heartening to see volume kick in after 3:15 PM or so, backed up by the SP rising. I'm not saying that this is it and we're at the bottom, but if it hangs around these levels till post 5th April, I'll add more with the new ISA allowance for the next tax year.
Shop window possibly opened but no low balls .....update pretty much as expected ...he has been stating the state of play for some time....maybe I am crazy but bought some more today ...when in the doldrums ....Holding for payday whenever that may be ....I do think its primed for a buy out ....

Maybe there's life in the old dog yet.
It will be interesting to see if any more credible offers materialise. Two things have changed since that previous approach - results are now out there so if there are prospective bidders they know the state of play, no leaping into the dark. The other thing is that approach being made public might in itself flush out others, if they think it's potentially in play. Times quoted a source saying "everyone's looking at it".
LONDON, March 27 (Reuters) - S4 Capital had received no credible takeover approach, Executive Chairman Martin Sorrell said when asked about a recent Wall Street Journal report saying he had turned down approaches from private equity and U.S. rival Stagwell. "We received nothing credible," Sorrell said in an interview after his ad group published results on Wednesday. "We control our own destiny," he added.
So S4 Capital turned down two offers from Stagwell & PE. "We received nothing credible," Will they return with improved offers? Who knows.
