Morning all. No surprises as far as I can see, but have only scanned them. Any thoughts?
Morning
and good morning to you to much talk about SH lets see how we go Tuesday after the results
Good morning all:-))
Keep the faith, this will come good in time, its all part of the cycle. Bought at 35p, 30p then sold everything i had and piled in at 23p. I am a contractor in construction and after 5 years of crap, we are now back to pre recession and so are most people i speak to and this is manchester not london!!! Its all part of the game, BOOM then BUST!!! Watched speedy go from £1 to £13 back in the day, they will be great again in time, its a no brainer, same with barclays, they are a bargain @ £2.50, patience, patience is all you need.
That was precisely my point. The smaller more agile market driven business can outperform the bigger company in terms of EPS. Although I should also say it was not my intention to dis A Plant or Lavendon. They are simply very different businesses from Speedy in terms of size, market, fleet mix etc. On a slight deviation, it will be interesting to see how well A Plant have hedged against pound / dollar given that most of their earnings are now in dollars and the recent resurgence of the pound.
Think we are heading up to 60p very soon?
Well said:-))
If I was investing in a supermarket at present, I'd have aldi stock over tesco any day. Probably not the best analogy..
Are you a ex employee?
I appreciate that you are enthusiastic about sdy but please get a grip, Speedy has for a long while now been the ALDI of supermarkets not the Tesco they always aspired to be. That's where it all went wrong, they tried to fight above what they was actually capable of. Unfortunately they upset too many knowledgable experienced employees and because of this the company has been HEAVILY diluted by too many of these employees moving to the competition or taking the initiative to set up their own business. DYOR, yes I did.
I think you could well be right with your IC Article
is off target. Comparing PE ratios with Lavendon and A Plant is like comparing ALDI with Tesco and Sainsburys. A more realistic comparison would be VP. Secondly, I think, notwithstanding recent hiccup, Speedy have strong potential to increase revenue alongside industrial growth without significantly increasing cost base. Gearing, NAV etc. and how well the business has positioned itself strategically for the forthcoming all have a bearing on where the share can go ( and has been before). I still see this as a 120p share within 2 years and growth potential beyond that ( with opportunities along the way to make a bit extra when there is unrealistic movement such as the recent 80p. DYOR
Good morning all :-)
Hi Maccaroo, hello to you too ;-) Yep, lovely to see a rise today, makes me feel better. As long as it keeps going north eh???
Nice little rise today.
could be few good trading days before the results . sdy will be reporting profits but not so much .
Good day to you to?
Am here too, watching with expectant eyes, bought in at 61.25 to the tune of 10K, shares. Am doing as you are and waiting to sell. Do not think it will get to 80p this year IMO.
Good morning. sorry i missed your post last night but was out. you could well be right about just you and me? still think this will come good just a small hiccup before we go back up to 80+ I am a long term holder was in it when we were £13 a share back in the old days. This could be the start of a slow rise back up? good luck.
Evening Maccaroo, Think there is only me and you here, they have all deserted sdy. I am still ALL in!!! and keeping the faith, long term investment, will be great company again, figures improving slowly but surely.
Good morning all
I see Toscafund have added another 5 million to their pot?
Been away what has gone on?
And the times pick speedy as 1 of there 10 for this year
