What's going on?
Never had this happen before, what happens next? Is all invested money gone, or they pay back a portion? Guessing its gone.
Sorry folks, if you are still invested here. It was always going to be a gamble to hold on in the last month instead of cut losses. I regret being tempted in the past by this.
I feel so sorry for all PI that got burnt here, going back 3-4 months i'd love to know the offer SCHE managment turned down... stueyh on the other hand I would be delighted if you lost a few K, it's arse holes like you that give message boards a bad name...

http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=201107110700091040K Although still subject to the possibility of further change, it is currently envisaged that the existing Group will cease to be an operator of homes at the end of the restructuring period. It is also anticipated that landlords, lenders and, where appropriate, other residual stakeholders will agree the necessary measures to facilitate the orderly closure of the Group's affairs and that little or no value will be attributable to shareholders. Given this background, and in agreement with UKLA, the Board has taken the decision that trading in the Company's shares be suspended with immediate effect.
Sky news is reporting tonight that SC will be wound up this week....
Sky news reporting tonight that SC will be wound up this week...
Cant say too much but will be a big help to company - watch for announcement early next week ..
Confirmation of all LL's on board, then numbers regarding rent reductions and details of re-fi. Worth a punt ......still here.
It is somewhat ambiguous, it's like a secret message. Id be worried if the line had said "Shareholders should consider their holding". Well if I had bought SC shares at £5 and seeing their value now Id probably see this as a positive. On the whole the RNS is good as it means SC's lenders are confident things are progressing well enough so far. I have visited my ex colleagues at the SC home I used to be employed at to chat about things and what's going on and what the future holds that sort of thing. I was told some good news and positive changes so should be an interesting month.
http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=201106301824095376J Southern Cross announces that it has reached agreement with its lenders on an extension to its banking facilities until the end of July. This further extension, in addition to the continuing deferral of rent with effect from 1 June, represents essential support from key creditors for the continuation of the four month financial restructuring process announced on 16 June. Shareholders should consider the value of their existing shares in this context. mmmm im not holding here but what to make of the last line in that paragraph ????
Its not uncommon companies change their names, and by doing so simply means paying small fee (£10 I think) and declaration to the relevant government department to make it official. It has nothing to do with the company going bust or not. If you've got shares in the company you'll see exactly the same price but trading under a different index symbol.
Just needed some advise off someone in the kno, if southern cross RE-NAMED themselves to say for example northern cross would this share price still be valid, or would it go bust, i have a feeling this company will reopen after the financial year to a new name after a reshuffle of finances
decent increases in the last two days, can't see many buys, so why the movement?
