Care firm set for landlords deal http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/uk/care-firm-set-for-landlords-deal-16012087.html
"The landlords have agreed in principle that they will make significant financial concessions in order to achieve a sustainable solution," said Daniel Smith, who chaired their meeting on Monday. "Our overriding concern at this time remains minimising disruption and concern for residents and their families." The 80 landlords will now put forwards their joint proposal, which was designed to avoid any closures of care homes, at the creditors' meeting on Wednesday. In return, they are looking to the government and lenders to agree to write off some of the money Southern Cross owes them. Under their joint proposal, individual landlords would reportedly be given various options, including: taking back homes and running them themselves taking back homes and bringing in a new operator sticking with Southern Cross, who would bring in new management. Southern Cross is the UK's largest care home operator, employing 44,000 staff, of which the company has already said it will cut 3,000.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13767245 Southern Cross is to hold a crisis meeting with landlords, lenders and the Department of Health later. The care home provider, which is unable to meet rent payments on its homes, hopes to reach an agreement on its financial future with its creditors. Of central importance is how to ensure continuity of care for the 31,000 people at the firm's 751 care homes. The BBC has learned the Darlington-based firm may only be left with 250 to 400 of those homes. But the biggest landlord, NHP, which owns 249 of the homes, is expected to stick with Southern Cross. The government has been putting intense pressure on landlords not to abandon Southern Cross altogether, according to BBC business editor Robert Peston. The landlords met on Monday, and are expected to table their own proposal for the firm's future. It comes after the troubled firm said last month it would stop paying about a third of its rental bill.
It may seem, a few folks are in shock, as the shares have spiked and held on to their gains.
... today. Several, incl. late reported, of 1m+. I'm guessing another RNS tomorrow from one of the ii's. Opening price - I wouldn't like to guess. Still loving this share.

Hats of to you, you brought in all the points, positives and negatives, and pleased you refer to my 9am being out of here, I must say, i was very tempting from time to time and get out, but I noticed one thing all day, it was very easy to sell, but could not buy unless it was negotiated trade, this could only mean one thing, there share was under buying pressure all day, this pattern continued all day, lucky i have advantage of the internet front of me all day non stop. So i decided to stick in here and stay, but we have seen this before BOOM and BUST, although there is a lot happening with company, I am sure this rally will continue tomorrow. The rally today was on the back of the life line news from the landlords, that have given massive discounts, etc to SCHE, and this rally should into tomorrow morning, but many will be buying on the rumor.whispers of the meeting out come. Please note should any rumors/whispers start tonight and into the morning, SCHE will open VERY SHARPY higher tomorrow, and shorts will be caught out, like today, maybe be a good idea to take some or all profits, shares tend to move on forward looking outcomes, etc. Most important of all, I will looking at a post today, where someone has mentioned 65% shares sold are to massive corporate investors, and non of them have sold yet. Any thoughts would be welcome.
Can't wait to see what the hell happens here tomorrow and thursday,as the plot thickens,Today Jamie Buchan has said that the annoucement by the landlord comittee as being constructive but there has been no agreement made yet between the committee and southern cross,(but isn't there a meeting between the committee and southern cross tomorrow, mmmmm i'm not saying that this company won't suffer long term and i still think it could well go under, but medium term i may have to eat humblepie, looks possible you may be a happy trader in a couple of days ROSH2009,also you proved me wrong as i said you will be out of this share by 9 this morning and you are still here,i guess you are waiting for the news now from the meeting i take it and then dump.
Well after all my research and post, I can finally put my opinion as: STRONG BUY, The shares held up on decent volume and non of the big investors have declared any sale of shares, the markets are clearly telling us this one has hit the bottom, and is on its way up after massive discounts from landlords. Brought in at 6.25p, held on, it may become a short term investment than a trading one.
the trades that have gone through today,i'm not involved in this share and yet i find this share attracting me like a magnet, i'm not saying anything tonight as even i must admit that after today anything can happen over the next few days, but either way it's not going to be for the faint hearted i'm sure.

Excellent, small spike on the last second, perfect
in the morning, held on to most gains, last 5 mins could be interesting.
What news are waiting for? Better SP value obviously!
Health statement by Lansley - The Commons, SCHE may get mentioned.
650.288 and 600.000 BUY at 9.8p that's over £100.000 for a punt!
This afternoon, or is it time to switch to ASTO.
Again, can only sell, buying is in auction.
Could be a very interesting finish, a repeat of yesterday, a run to the highs by close of business.
Southern Cross Health Care (SCHE.L) shares rebounded strongly this morning, rising 56% or 3.4p to 9.5p, after the care home company’s landlords said they were prepared to accept cuts in rent with the provision that some of the losses be soaked up by the banks or the government. http://citywire.co.uk/money/southern-cross-and-avis-europe-fly-as-ftse-gains/a499504
