Don’t Mention Brexit !!!!!!! It’s like Basil Fawlty mentioning the war .. utter disaster.. I don’t like posting politics but it does make me angry with these Daily Mail / Express readers passing throw away comments on how bad Labour will make .. have a look around you for Gods sake .. and on immigration you are right illegal migration is a smoke screen.. it’s all the legal migrants they are now letting in through universities and work positions that can be no longer filled because of BREXIT… and the thing is they voted Brexit because they didn’t like the Polish or Bulgarians taking their jobs .. now those jobs are being filled by Indians/Bangledeshi/Zimbabweans/Nigerians .. and they are never going back home on the completion of their visas .. at least the Poles would have gone back to a prosperous Poland
@Pat, this link says it all really as to where the UK has fallen to….

And they thought Brexit would sort it…now drifting into North Sea looking for a trade agreement with the Faroe Islands. You couldn’t make this stuff up….
The less votes that Liebores get,the less confidence they will have to screw us over.
We are being thrown to the wolves by the cons.Things will surely worsen before they get better. The good times may never be back.
My advice is work hard and be tax efficient as possible because when you get older it will be too late.
Another Reform voter here.
Wakeboarder, by voting Reform you are guaranteeing a Labour government, you are obviously aware of that.
Why vote for what you don't want?
It seems bizzare to me!
I think Labour have an abundance of ammunition to throw at the Tories .. let’s face it everyone is being taxed to high heaven and every service in this country is on its knees .. not sure Labour need the SMR go ahead for more ammunition to throw at the Tories that would be like sending a few pistols to Zelenskyy … Can’t believe Tory voters can’t see how bad they have been ..
Reform UK! 👊
God help us all if the Pr_ck gets in with the labour muppets , the two faced lying as_hole kept denying the Brexit vote as if the people of this country didn’t matter to him and Corbin , it was a total disgrace and he has the cheek to pretend different now !!!
I was conservative but I’m Reform party now all the way 👍 we all need a fresh start in politics with all this woke cr_p ruining the country, Starmer couldn’t even say what a woman is for fecks sake 🙄
Hello wakeboarder, My biggest worry is that if Sir Keir "harm-US" gets in he will absolutely and utterly decimate the UK Stock Markets the reason being the only solutions he has for financials and particularly great companies like RR is his favourite pet the "WINDFALL TAX" that will seriously harm RR in the years to come and other great UK Companies, he has nothing else to offer for financial difficulties.
I’m with you on that one Cassandra 👍
Hello Achilles, Tufan won't spend money on building another SMR new factory ( i.e. construction costs, maintaining that factory, heating, gas and electricity and extra employees more importantly highers your costs and lowers your profits, and other multiple outlay costs to permanently run that factory) why have all the high cost liabilities when there is one already on the doorstep Sheffield Forgemasters this also saves another most expensive critical aspect "TIME", and also indicates personally that UK SMRs will be "well producing" clean more cost effective electricity by 2030 not putting a first spade in the ground by 2030 a lot of new construction methods are now "drop ins" constructed elsewhere.
My own view is that the Torys will give the green light to Tufan to commence UK SMRs before the general election, because if Labour gets in (god help us !!!!!) and they give the green light for UK SMRs they will glean all the credit for generations to come, and they would use that as a weapon against the Tory Party for generational years to come, the Tories will not want that on there consciences.
Absolutetly AchillesZeno 👍
Like I said , its a very shrewd move for Rolls Royce , AKA Turbo Turfans new baby 😉 It will save time and A LOT of money to kick off the first SMR orders and that allotted cash pile can now be used to reduce the debt even more, and then cash pile for the time a dedicated RR pressure vessel factory will be an economic no-brainer especially as interest rates look set to stay higher for longer at this moment in time ! It's the Modular factory that RR need at pace now which is still on full speed ahead mode !!
This is great news for all RR holders 👍
Combined with the new engine orders rolling in at the moment plus the new engine designs getting certified Rolls Royce has a VERY BRIGHT future ahead under TT's excellent leadership 👍👍👍
Rolls confirmed it no longer intends to proceed with that plan because there is no longer time to build the factory and make the first pressure vessels for the early 2030s, when it hopes to complete its first SMRs.
🗣. Issue is Time. BUTTTTT
Instead the engineering giant will now buy its heavy pressure vessels from a third party supplier.
🗣
From the Government, they want their cut too$$$

Sheffield Forgemasters, which was nationalised by the Ministry of Defence in 2021.
🗣
Earlier this month, Sheffield became the sole UK company to gain the qualifications needed to make SMR reactor vessel components.
