... website update with a rather awesome limited edition T-Shirt to buy.... "£7 close".
Just saying.
That's a very disciplined methodology owls...
I normally have a 5% limit but currently RR is 10% due to the impressive performance over the last 12 months.
I normally sell after 12 months but I may hold on for another month to see if the momentum continues.
I have no problem publishing this here Cornish Pete if it helps? (there was nothing in the email to suggest I need to keep it private) - this is from my current SJP advisor, baring in mind I asked if charges would be raised based on the 462m being put aside!:
"From my understanding, there are no plans for charges to go up, in fact, charges are going to come down in the next year or so as we ensure that we continue to offer clients value (as required by the FCA). Also, if you haven't been seen on a regular basis prior to me taking over your servicing, my understanding is that you will be contacted with regards to compensation for advice that was missed."
That's what I have so far, and this obviously suggests historic advice.
Whether SJP have kept records of previous 'advisors' is the key as I know for a fact my previous advisor saw me once in a lifetime when he felt like it, and then got booted out (I think).
Looks like historic compensation maybe on the cards. Again, I'll keep you posted with my updates. 👍
Hi Nettles;
As I no longer have any investment through SJP, I no longer have an SJP advisor as such, but will contact the advisor I had as she may be able to help. I was lead to believe that the compensation scheme is limited to financial advice and would not cover the sheer repeated incompetence of a transfer department that took 6 months to deliver any ISA funds back to me. However I could claim that the original advice given, to invest in SJP and being told that I would be able to transfer ISA funds easily, was incorrect.
I am in Thailand at the moment, so will not pursue a claim for a couple of weeks, but would be interested to hear what your advisor believes the limits of compensation cover.
Belboy15 - as stated with Cornish Pete, I'll ask these questions at my video call next week as I am unsure if we need to request compensation or it's given to us automatically.
Any feedback I get, I'll post here mate. 👍
Cornish Pete - that sounds like a prime example to claim mate.... have you still got the same advisor?
My advisor suggested I would be contacted in the coming weeks but I have a video call with him next week son I'll be raising the issue, anything I feel would benefit you, I'll post here 👍
Hi Nettles,
I am in the same SJP boat (that seems to be taking on a lot of water), spoke with my SJP advisor who stated they will be responding soon with a charges refund figure and "may receive a good will" compensation gesture.
I would also be interested to hear from others what their expectations are.
I await there candid response with intrigue.
Thanks and apologies to others for this non related subject.
Go RR!

I first put in a request to SJP to transfer 50K ISA funds to iWeb to buy RR shares on 21st March 23. On 5th April 177k was deducted from my account and "in transfer" to iweb! Why oh why did I stop it, I should hve realised the level of incompetence that SJP had reached. After several weeks of the money being in the ether my account was rebuilt and I started the process all over again. My SJP Financial Adviser was not allowed to help and all contact was phone or snail mail. I started the process again, at 60K, but every time SJP managed to find a reason not to go ahead with the transfer. On 5th August I lost patience with SJP and requested 100K and on 30th August I was wrongly told this transfer was denied, in fact it was in the process of going through, so I put in a transfer for all funds. I managed to invest 100k in RR 12th September (225.5) and the remainder on 28th September (220.25). I have not worked out how many ISA shares SJP have cost me and I doubt I can claim compensation as my adviser was always in touch, but not allowed to help with the ISA transfer.
100% after small holdings of Cineworld and getting out at 42p, Boo hoo getting out at £3.65, Hammerson, Ferrexpo and IAG/Easyjet RR has recovered all my losses.
I think am going to sell my none isa rolls at £4 a share do want to pay tax going over the capital gains tax limit. I'll continue to hold my isa ones and mite even top it up as this stock still has a run to go even that this price.
Roughly just doubled my average to £2.50 ish 👍
£14 - it will make me a million.
Average?
In for the long haul. Although RR have hit dizzying heights I’m thinking get in now while it’s still relatively low. That’s the plan anyway.
At the start of the day I told myself I'd be happy with 370 .. Great couple of weeks ..
...just out of interest, where is 'retirmemt' (that's how he/she spells it) when they committed to a £3.40 sell?
No hate, just wondering if you regret the amount you sold with your idea that "RR will do nothing [SP wise] until August?
Be good to hear an honest opinion from you, now we're climbing?
Hi all,
Totally unrelated to RR, and I apologise in advance, but I know people here (like me) have different avenues of investment.
Obviously SJP has come under FCA scrutiny and set aside £426(ish) million for compensation to clients that didn't have sufficient communication with their SJP advisor.
I've just been told I may get some of this compensation - I was just checking if anyone here was in the same boat?
I'll keep it to this thread alone so those who get annoyed by off topic comments won't need to enter this debate.
Thanks in advance!
Nettles.
Nice finish to to the week
RR represents 89.5% in my ISA. I haven't added to the pot in nearly a year with all new money going into dividend paying shares. I am itching to take profit but I will sit on my hands for another 2 years.
