@ Talk2Much.
Just a couple of differing opinions to yours.
"""The company is as good as dead""""
No. The PLC is as good as dead.
And the bit about the CWU not wanting to adapt? I've been at Royal Mail for over 30 years, and that's all that has happened. Have you forgotten the major changes to the pension? These were implemented prior to the company being a PLC.
'Everyone has a plan, until you punch them in the face' someone once said. This dispute will be played out in the public arena, which makes it harder for DK to win. RMG will be haemorrhaging cash, until it is settled. It could escalate across to Vesa's other UK investments, with royal mail workers and members of the public boycotting Sainsbury's stores. Interesting times.
Embarrassing now…split it..sell it…make money … move on…leave the **** show behind…
Redundancies…redundancies…redundancies…billionaires get what they want and laugh in the face of small minded people with poor life outlook.
Should make a film about this..let me call it carry on dinos
I think the words were "RM are not in talks" which doesn't mean they weren't in the past or will be again if Rees-Mogg gives VESA the green light? Plus I assume if they are in talks and it leads to a deal Thompson can just say he was under no olbigation to tell the CWU the truth as if he had done he might have prejudiced any talks?
Anyway who actually believes some kind of talks haven't taken place, if they haven't then why has Rees-Mogg got involved, as surely VESA could have just told him that they never intended increasing their holding above the present 25% holding?
Maximus you say they will get rid of all the dead wood which I hope your right but let’s say 30000 are dead wood who is going to deliver the post . I don’t know if you read online today but there are 1.2 million job vacancies which employees can’t fill so what makes you think if they get rid of postman people will apply for the job .We have had a vacancy in are office for 4 weeks 1 person applied 15 stone and unemployed for 2 years the manager said he only turned up to show he was trying to get a job to keep his job seekers allowance. Now if loads of postman get laid of there are plenty of jobs out there it’s not like Thatchers time when 3.4 million were unemployed and it was hard to get a job

But there have been no talks with VESA Simon Thompson made a Statement to the City stating that.
Maybe the fact that it wasn't "secret"?
I don't really know what was achieved by it.
Teslo - a great and very valid post. I've just been watching the CWU emergency meeting. Members were suggesting that the CWU "didn't see this coming" but the 2 Dave's argued that they knew it would happen.
The CWU basically plan to escalate action - so I can see shares getting even cheaper. Did somebody give the CWU the script to get RMG sold and they still chose to follow it? They've already fallen into the trap of carrying out IA which gave RMG the chance to rip up old agreements, and now it seems they're hell bent on an all-or-nothing approach which, in my opinion, will leave them with nothing.
RMG are playing the game quite well. People look back at Rico and how he tried to do it, and he didn't get the approach right. This *looks* beautifully orchestrated by the senior management, with the CWU being good enough to step on every bear trap on the way through.
In the unlikely event that the CWUs counter measures work and RMG decides to pay people more without demanding change and efficiency improvements, the company is as good as dead. They're losing money now and it won't improve without adapting, and the CWU don't want that.
It's all "in my opinion" and I don't play with trolls so please, I'd rather agree to disagree then get in some of the flames that go on in here :) .
I hope so m8, but not without a fight my friend. they will cry come November and December. buy some tissues you will need them
Teslo all valid points mate you only have to look at the CWU ,RMT ASLEF , all militant style 70s unions who really don’t care about business and they have brainwashed the membership, all of those leaders are on 100 grand salaries with a final salary pension what does that tell you eh ? They are selfish greedy hypocrites !
Three years ago, the narrative from the unionised employees on here was " Remove RICO , things will get better "
Now it's Simon.
Rinse and Repeat, in Three years time after we yet another share price cycle it will be " Remove Kretínský things will be fine "
I get that Unions have their place, but they have systematically destroyed many core UK industries over the years, simply because in the end they make it too expensive to run these companies profitably in a competitive market. It was the same story years ago with the UK manufacturing industry.
The CWU is also sending all the BT workers out on strike as well, and all that will accomplish is to give companies like TalkTalk a competitive advantage. Hence why they are now subject to rumoured £3 billion takeover by Virgin Media.
If DK takes over the company there is one outcome, GLS to PostNL and UK RMG asset stripped and the bare bones either handed back to the government with a skeleton workforce or alternatively it enters the 21st century and becomes a profitable gig-economy company.
All the CWU is doing currently is playing into DK's hands and the longer it goes on the lower the share price becomes and the easier it becomes for him to steal it away.
It's just a matter of time before it's Czech Mate for the CWU and all the freeloading lazy ****s employed by the company.
Babis that is what is up with some of the workforce , you and others have a 70s style militant approach who only cars for themselves. One word Selfish , I do hope they weed out the dead wood like you !
emergency meeting with CWU.
I heard there giving away free paddles..lol
don't worry about me m8. I am fine. You seem really upset with the workers. I suggest take a deep breath and look the world a little different. I don't give a **** about the shares. I refused the free shares from royal mail as I did not agree with the sale of the company. I do have some shares with KP2 and ADV. if ADV opens up few pence higher I can afford to send some money to Simon as he don't have any.
Good grief…worried..lol…your doing a Stella job…keep it up….your doing investors a good turn:-)
A/s
Management will have had this planned for weeks,I said it months ago, there’s a plan…they will have known the share price is under pressure…keep that pressure on…then when/if k gets the go ahead there will be an RNS…bought millions of shares for a few bob…even if k gets the knock back this will not be finnished…the next phase will be implemented….there’s always a worst case scenario….I for one almost bought in yesturday, and again today…but just about stopped myself….I want more cheaper
Posties carry on as you were:-)

Dowy…
You will find the company will have a few goals…
Streamline…efficiently….crush the union…rid the company of dead wood..
I could go on but you get the drift….after todays management comments,if you cannot now see there future goals and don’t accept them you will be replaced…k…if he gets in will be ruthless…you ain’t seen anything yet…I have said it for a while but they will not care about short term losses….it’s all about a few years down the line…they cannot keep coming back to this old tune played on an old fiddle…
you have to try harder than that Dynamo to wind me up........... ;-)
You will care when you realise your attitude is all talk,no body will care a few months after you have gone,I hope you personally do go ahead with your half baked plan,as it will see you departed with paddle….you fail to realise that Simon probably is the puppet whose strings are being pulled,he will be sat there knowing he’s actually doing what’s been asked, and will be rewarded when the times right…this is why your mentality is doomed as a long term worker with r/m…
.please keep it up
Please carry on striking
Please say your not bothered
Please do not bottle it once your called in.
The share price keeps looking nicer by the day
The company becomes cheaper
K buys the company cheaper
Investors buy cheaper
Everyone’s a winner
Except poor old you and your merry men..lol
Who are they replacing us with Maximas? You fail to grasp that the only way they can get people to do the job is to pay agency workers more than the posties , yet they do half the amount of work. You sound as economically sound as Simon Putin.
Spot ON m8. Remove Simon things will get better.
Oh dear. Please tell me your not invested in Royal Mail Newsdealz
We dont care as long as we bring Simon down with us!
You fail to understand that the company now have you in there sights…you WILL BE replaced if you now don’t get in line, the dog will wag the tail…now agreements are being torn up they will just do what they want,no payouts,no going to court after dismissal as there will be no grounds…this is all about long term…they will not care…
lose money short term they won’t care.
Lose workers short term they won’t care.
Lose contracts they won’t care.
It’s all about starting afresh turning the company around playing hard ball.
You will soon see what the outside world is like…
Start looking now as good jobs next year will be harder to find, don’t forget to put dismissed on your CV.
dream on, most likely Simon will go to sleep. you fail to understand that the workforce is ****ed off with Simon. Team this and Team that in every speech towards the workers. No money for workforce but plenty of money for Simon (300.000 free shares).
Talking to my fellow workers I can tell you that we are prepared to destroy our jobs, this is not about money anymore its about Simon. We cannot wait for November and December that's when you will see the IA escalate.
If Royal Group decides to remove Simon perhaps things will calm down.
Maximus I hope your right and their do get rid of the dead wood but if you read my previous post today you will see postman get rewarded for being slow either by booking OT or leaving Mail in the frame for someone else to deliver. Maybe in your experience it’s easy to sack people or get rid of people but at RM it doesn’t seem to be the case
