Yes sorry meant Open offer shares although the same logic applies to the Placing shares not yet taken up... Ie I believe they can still be taken up before the deadline, if the well timed RNS were to change peoples minds!
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/four-leading-edge-demonstrators-to-jumpstart-energy-revolution
may well now be taken up by deadline tonight if the SP can maintain 2p. The RNS no doubt timed to boost this.
Isn't this detail a clue to why so much Lithium?
"Pivot Power’s private-wire network across south Oxford will have enough power to charge hundreds of vehicles at the same time. Approximately 100 ultra-rapid and fast chargers will be installed initially at a public charging station on the A34 and at the council’s main vehicle depots. The network will also run past the city’s two main bus depots, providing the opportunity for their fleets to go electric."
So 100 individual Lithium cells supplied by RedT's unit is perhaps the reason? Just the nature of the way energy will be delivered in this one case perhaps?
I see, 10% of 50MWh, apologies. Selling 72 units is the important part not complaining at the disttribution of the Lithium units. Time will show the value in Vanadium and it has to prove its worth in the field as Vanadium fights against established Lithium sales.
Where are you seeing this information winnings, the RNS says
"This project will represent the Company's first grid-scale, 'front of the meter' project. 5MWh of redT flow machines (72 units) will be hybridised with a 48MW, 50MWh lithium battery system and connected at transmission level to support a local EV charging network consisting of approximately 100 ultra-rapid and fast chargers. As flow machines can cycle heavily, multiple times each day, without degradation, they are well suited to use alongside lithium-ion batteries, which provide high power, but must be managed carefully to prolong their life. Together, flow machines and lithium batteries will operate as a hybrid system, making use of the relevant strengths of the two complementary technologies to balance the network and meet the complex demands of the ESO project. "
Ninety percent of the project is to consist of Lithium storage with only 10 percent Vanadium flow.
Yet, time and time again, we have been assured by Redt's management that the Vanadium flow machines are superior to Lithium battery storage. So the consortium have opted for inferior over superior?
exactly Coco .... its 5MW + 50MW Li + all the rest for 41Mill .... Red's share will be small and it is noteworthy that actual sales figures have not been announced.
All very convenient timing vis-a-vis placing ... so why did Scott stand down just as its all firing up ?
A positive step non the less
The RNS tells you what RED is supplying(not toilet rolls).
Apart from the useful sales, the big thing for me here is the acceptance of flow machines as being an important and differentiated component of such schemes. Up to now I've had the feeling that Flow machines were struggling to gain acceptance against lithium. Looks like the appreciation of the qualities they can bring to the table have been accepted. RED was right, IMHO, to make GEN3 a hybrid illustrating the different strengths of vanadium and lithium and I'm sure it has helped to persuade Oxford (and others) of the value of such a system.
Well done to anybody who took up the offer.
Dougal, it already has !
Def being lined up for something which hopefully enables us lth’s to at least recoup our original investment/make a few quid GLA
"as part of the consortium" Let's not get too carried away here, not until the "part" is known. Who knows, they could be supplying the toilet rolls.
I asked myself the same thing. Normally you would have a large bank of flow and a small bank of lithium.
Why such a small part for the vanadium flow machines in the project, why the preference for the lithium based storage?
I guess your thought is the same as mine - clear the decks for the new owner?
Why would a company paint the bleakest picture of its self and dilute at an unreasonably low price when it knew this announcement was just around the corner? I held but feel very sorry for those that did not.
Is there any profit in there for them?
come on RedT ! let's really see you starting to shift some Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries - we (BMN and the planet) have got a whole mountain of Vanadium piled up ready for whoever wants it (you and the grid).
Feel free to remind the knockers (don't worry they will come) that Vanadium is more plentiful that Nickel, Chrome, Zinc AND COPPER ffs ! ( https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/blog/public-articles-1/post/vanitec-4th-energy-storage-meeting-part-1-274 ) and that Vanadium is the one battery metal it really makes sense to build megascale energy storage upon.
Well done who whoever kept their nerve here.
Come on coco stop being a wet blanket. Massive blue day today....
Fortuitous Indeed .
The race to 4p may be reached today .
Best of
Coco Google Oxford super hub, announced on sky news today they've just picked up 20m of government funding (I assume there is a government at this time). It's a local grid that they are developing, and hence need storage. I'm not sure what comes first planning or gov funding, but Oxford Council are behind it, so I can't see planning being much of an issue. https://news.sky.com/story/giant-batteries-to-be-built-in-oxford-after-the-city-wins-20m-in-green-funding-11682768
I am from the PV/energy storage industry, this is a potentially game changing for redT... This is as real as they come... Pivot Power are already building 2 x 50MW lithium only sites (take a look at their website) and plan to build 10's more over the next 5 years. GLA
How much is this worth in actual revenues to Redt ? When will we find out if the project actually has planning permission All looks wishy washy to me Trying to trade my way out here as I have a smallish pos from before the awful placing. Hence the sounding of sour grapes
Details of the RNS on our website!

Positive !
Will need to back this up with more actual sales from the pipeline to keep the pressure up on the share price!

Could be an interesting day here......
