Obviously BritBulls does not get it right every time - but they do say BUY-confirmed for PVCS (and I tend to think they are correct - its a good recovery play - imo)
some interesting comments here - - - - http://www.discussthemarket.com/pvcs-chat
Although cuts in feed-in tariffs in major European markets have cast a cloud over PV installations this year, market research firm IMS Research expects key emerging markets to support growth of the industry in 2012. According to IMS, global installations will reach between 27.8GW and 32.6GW in 2012, compared to its latest figures for 2011 when installations were said to have reached 26.9GW. The reason for the optimism rests on the continued regional expansion of PV outside Europe. According to IMS, at least 23 countries will install 100MW or more this year, up from just 17 last year as well as tracking installations being seen in around 60 countries. “It is no longer a case of whether the PV market will grow in 2012, the real question now is by how much will it grow,” explained Ash Sharma, IMS Research's senior research director.

Anyone heard anything about this lot closeing shop ! must be near
Pre-tax earnings came in at €4.5m but were hammered by exceptional items which took the company €67m into the red. This amounted to a loss per share of 15c. Chairman, Maarten Henderson, said the long term outlook for solar installations remained positive. "In the medium-term we expect that market conditions will return to levels that allow companies to operate profitably," he said.
It added that there continued to be great uncertainty regarding short term market developments, with most industry forecasts predicting little if any growth in global PV demand in 2012. This was due to growth in China being offset by a decline in the European market. In 2011 group revenue decreased by 16.7% to €210.4m.
Solar wafers supplier PV Crystalox Solar warned of tough times ahead but said it remained committed to the solar industry after experiencing a difficult 2011. The company blames its woes on a dramatic increase in worldwide production capacity in the photo voltaic (PV) industry, driven by companies in China. This had led to sharp falls in pricing across the PV value chain and drove wafer sales prices below production costs, it said
riddler here is one for you TXH - 1.6 million profit and current mcap only 5.5 million. Only 15 trades so far and 50% up
Kingpinz, you have "cash and cash equivalents" of 71 m€ and "debt" of 49m€, which means net cash of 22 m€. And the statement adds "at the end of February 2012, net cash balance was markedly higher than at the end of 2011" ! Moreover PVCS should receive in 2012 cash from customers willing to break existing contracts. With all that cash, PVCS should survive at least 12 months ... hoping wafers spot prices will increase significantly in the coming months !
The first few lines of the results state "net cash 22 million euro" so perhaps if you are correct about taking into account current debt...the company should have been more clearer?
When you did your net cash, you forgot to deduct the 50 million euro pile of current debt.... I understand how you got to your 5.4p figure but it is wrong. When calculating net cash you deduct any current liable debt such as loans outstanding. If you did this you would find net cash would be 22.6 - 49 / number of shares..... arriving at a negative figure! Good luck
To my mind, these results are much better than expected. NAV is still close to 200 M€ and net cash is above 5p per share (increasing in Q1 2012).
NEWS...government loses appeal on cutting the subsidies...good?
The forecast for 2012 we should be looking at after all everyone knows the problems of 2011 thats why the sp is 5 or 6p rather than the 50 or 60p it was last year.
forcast for 2011 results just got to be terrible
Any forecast for 2011 results ? Here are mine : - revenues : 180 M€ - EBIT : - 10 M€ - Net earnings : - 130 M€ (after inventories write-down, assets impairement, etc).
Volume rising. Something stiring send out for sunshine
What do you think of this share on 28th March 2012???????????????????
