Fair play German cars are presumably cheaper than vauxhall ford toyota etc ? i dont know..however uk has had its day and the 19th century belonged to us.. the 20th was the USA AND THE 21st is chinas whats the shock? people on here belive the in rule britania but its slowly fading.
Bought german cars because there cheap (well I look for bargains) & last, never bought a new car in my life never will, shame the powers turning fast we have had the chinese over "just looking around" but have already been told what I build + others can be bought in from overseas so the company I work for is competing against itself if the cost of manufacturing our product can be beaten & profits can be made the company will do just that buy it in cheaper close the workshop/manufacturing floor & will only need white collar workers + dummy 's no skilled labour.
lucky you, you buy a german car because.............................. you can afford it yipee.. i can to but prefer the cheaper option (maserati owner once) thats my call. however can the uk provide the eu with waffers when they are all skint? or shall they continue with the green targets afforadable thanks to our china friends?? no brainer
Monty I make a good british product or part of it shame it might not last that long no interest in uk made products or manufacturing I only drive german cars though!
penultimate post was for all
British tele? british car no(dont make em now do we?), german clothing no.etc etc.. go throu your entire contents of your house and tell what is quality that is German or British or USA made. qualiy means jack in this day and age its quaity fit for purpose and no one can compete with China, might not be well made but it will thrive in the next 5 years just ask any primark customers,, Uk love it and turn a blind eye to the child slavery.. whats differnent in waffa's????????????
WHAT DONT ADD UP?? Let me spell it out ... China will mass produce this product for 1/5 of what UK OR GERMANY CAN.. Cash reserves are falling monthly and will till its gone
All there is no turn around!!! we live in the UK growth is a decade away this is not a recession for us but a correction of economics //its how its gonna be
A board full of fingers crossed? what a sad story all if buts and maybes.. a takeover?? yes i bet our oriental friends cant wait to take on high wages and zero profit European companies?? get with it.. Rover couldn't sell cars that was well made and cheap based in EUROPE..its a slow and painfull one but money can be made trading it... Just forget the miracle grow humble it dont happen..... and by the way lesson... only belive in what you see, not what you see on the tv.. i used to tell my son that at 6 years old, he got to grips with it before his teens...
Have a good one all....kind regards...hp
over the last 6 months 24 pence down to 3.7 one would think it would be due for a bounce wouldn`t you? Would be nice to see it doing that in reverse so I can understand why you would want to put some away for a year or two. When they paid a divi it was quite a good one. That would be quite a little income if it returned.. However we know they are going to have to conserve cash so that is out of the question for a while. The negative I see is that those Chinese love to churn things out and I am wondering about them saturating the market further with more and ever cheaper wafers mass produced in huge numbers as they do.....leaving this business with nowhere to hide...
Thanks for that. I was coming to a similar conclusion; When I go back to wales on occasion we have a lot of modern factories which were as far as I am aware still empty and been that way for about 10 years. They were built by the Koreans to build memory chips. Some time back they started selling them cheaper than what they were made. They lost 100s of millions. Then closed up shop never to return. The factories are huge. Of course the products are a bit different but I do understand what over saturation means and waht the effects of dumping can do on stock. The management in the last report did did bring forward its management statement explaining market conditions have deteriorated more severely than thought. So it is understandable why the share price has suffered. Ideally, I would prefer to wait until prices and/or demand increases but then again if others do the the share price will already be higher in anticipation or effect of a turn in sentiment. They have closed a factory and some are on short time, which points to things being tough. When the sector turns so will this. There could be some consolidation in the sector and or take-over. It looks cheap but there is a clear reason why that is so. Is it too soon? Thanks for your opinion...appreciated......hp
"nowhere to be seen", ummm perhaps I was busy with other shares.
EDL yesterday, you were nowhere to be seen <><><>
The PXS dip to 1.6 was nothing....It did not register and I hardly took my eyes off it...Not much escapes me you know......
Well actually I have to admit I do follow a lot of shares. I will watch some for years without holding any. Often looking for any tick up (or down) sometimes minutely..day in day out, every movement in several hundred, until I am totally absorbed and lost in them...
I was just commenting that there are people out there who have holdings in loads of companies. No way are they watching the price of all of them day in day out. They are bought and tucked away, ultimate buy and hold. Bit different than watching and celebrating every tick up. Which reminds me, I missed the PXS dip to 1.6 today. There was a trade there.
PS Lets not make it too complicated but if you wish you could also say: It’s Not Just What You Know But… Who Knows What You Know.......
Do you know Darren Brown will go up to the counter of a (the dogs) bookies and give them a loosing ticket and get the cashier to pay out on it? With just a couple of well placed words. Me, I am a small player, I do not hold that many shares. However ever, when you tell me about the people you know and what they hold I had better not do the same....After all it is not who you know that is important, it is who knows you? Don`t you agree? Kind regards....hp
I am too simple to do things like plant potting inside people heads. I know someone who has I think 110 share holdings (different companies). Have you got a lot of holdings personally ????
Yes you are right, whats a couple of hundred.....? Very true. Like you I also have a few shares I do not trade. JJB had a poor trading update today which was well received. Results were not down as as badly as people expected. ( so it went up 37%) I like jumps like that don`t you? Imagine what would have happened if sales had continued to drop? ( instead of tailing off ) Yes your right there is a time for planting a seed and letting it grow. I would like to think I am an expert at planting. Do you know you can plant a thought into somebody mind to let it grow?
being a smoker you might be better looking at shorter term gains...............for me this is not a share I look to trade, its about plant the seed, let it grow. If so great, if not, whats a couple of hundred.....?
I have nothing against being quick. Sometimes you have to be, just as there is a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; Is this not so?
