Lol christofer, last Friday at around 2pm PSN dropped from 1471 to 1446.5 suddenly. I wasn't joking.
“I was looking thru an old trading report in persimmons office and it was from 2014 and they made about £380m profit that year and paid a dividend of £1.10. So they are in better profit and will be under paying from that year based on my expectations.”
I welcome other’s views on this, but am not sure if we can read across based on headline profit numbers. In 2014 the company was actively pursuing a policy of returning capital to shareholders and had an extremely strong balance sheet. That balance sheet isn’t as strong now.
I am happy to be wrong on this and pleasantly surprised ;)

I’m hoping between 40-60p as they have more than enough money to pay that and still leave a lump in the bank spare.
I only got 20p per share :-(
I don’t have as many shares as topher but I still have about 12000 and I plan to add another 2000 this year. I have seen some big drops in my account but I just shrug it off as I know it will rise and a drop certainly wouldn’t affect weekend!
Stevebt
not going to be much last one was rubbish
We should find out when and how much it will be when they do a proper update on march 12th.
Hi all.anyone know when the next dividend is please
Time to draw a line under this one guys agree Gary
Time to draw a line under this one guys or this board will become like the LLOY one. Also, for the sake of some brevity I sadly laugh very loudly at my football team (play in blue, spent over a billion £’s on players) bloody Americans!!!
Christofer , by comparing this to football , and not being to laugh at your team losing , you show that it isn’t just a case of you taking your finances seriously.
You take life too seriously.
You shouldn’t invest so much that short term volatility has you being all serious and enough to spoil your weekend. 3 months of share price decline of 15% perhaps. But not 1.5% down on a Friday.
Yes you should be able to laugh at drops , within reason. As the path to glory is never a straight line. Put another way , the path to glory is never as straight laced as you.
Meconopsis , why would you want to laugh at a drop if you are a SERIOUS investor . I know what I’m doing thank you and I have plenty of money/assets that aren’t invested.
I’ve made six figure paper profits in 12 months and this is not my job so I don’t need some stranger telling me about investing. If you laughed at your favourite football team losing or favourite sports star losing then surely you agree it’s a strange reaction, so maybe I’m passionate about my investments, therefore when they lose (drop) I’m disappointed.
Meconopsis
Totally DISAGREE WITH YOUR POST .
@Christofer - if you can't see the funny side of any sudden drop then you've invested more than you can afford to lose and - by definition - have over-extended yourself.
If you can't see the funny side then investing in individual shares ain't for you.
Seen it done it , why would you find a sudden substantial drop in the share price funny , do you actually want to make money or just crack stupid jokes to amuse yourself . If you had a serious amount of money invested in the markets I’d be concerned for your mental state if you find this alarming sudden drop funny , it’s certainly spoilt my weekend seeing thousands wiped off my investment.
Us non farm payrolls released at 13.30
Well guys shake that tree LOL
Yes, the whole market went down all in a sudden. All shares fell off the cliff! For a second, I thought the WWIII has started, lol. 😂 😂 😂
But I have no idea what caused that.
What just happened there, 30p drop in a split second!
Wow, are they money or number of shares?
5,000x4 = 20,000 of shares will be almost £300k worth!!😱😱😱
Going out, might split up the trades to 5000 shares x4 which will be better
Good luck to you then.😁😁
Hope not that price got two buys 10k each at 1400 and 1420 ;-0
Well denby, profit taking probably will push PSN down 2-3%, but dropping to 1322 seem not possible. Unless something nasty happens to the world. Otherwise, I think that short term, 1522 is more likely though.
