The UK North Sea oil and gas entrepreneur at the helm of Parkmead Group, Tom Cross, has confirmed key projects for the energy firm were making “significant” progress.
These include the Greater Perth Area (GPA) development in the central North Sea and the Platypus gas project in the southern sector.
Mr Cross said Parkmead had a “proven way to get oil from Perth to the market” and he hoped to have a field development plan (FDP) submitted to the industry regulator later this year.
Speaking from his Aberdeen home after Granite City-based Parkmead posted first-half results, Mr Cross said a tie-back of GPA to the nearby Scott facilities, operated by CNOOC, and export via the Forties pipeline was a “complete technical solution” for a project targeting up to 130 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), in “probable” resource terms.
Parkmead is also looking at ways to “sweep up” other pools of oil in the area, Mr Cross added.
The company submitted its FDP for Playtypus last October, hoping for project sanction by July and start-up for an estimated 4,600 boe per day next year.
But Covid-19 has forced the Oil and Gas Authority to prioritise its workload and the Platypus timetable is likely to slip.
He said Parkmead was operationally profitable during the six months to December 31, but a £1.3m write-down linked to the disposal of non-core acreage pushed statutory earnings into the red. Pre-tax losses came in at £1.4m, against profits of £3.8m a year ago, while lower gas prices drove a near 60% drop in revenue to £2.1m.
No son I told you before it was public knowledge on this board! You hate anyone knowing more than you lol
Just listen you may learn something, PMG will fall back again it’s being held up artificially
Scooby: Forget what ?
Every one that farms in the North East knew that Tom's wife had bought the land.......We now know for what purpose.
SOB it wa see that highlighted PMG were going into renewables and working away from gas and oil, before it was public knowledge, then everybody was gobsmacked when the land deal happened, or did you forget?
Don't forget the vegan farm.
Scooby-Doo. As long as there are buyers the price will sustain !
Parkmead are into Gas Oil and renewable energy.
This heavy selling can’t keep happening and not have any affect on the share price, It must be to let someone off load at this price!
Livingthedream: The FID was due second quarter for platypus but due to Covid-19 it is now under review !
Maybe Tom's going to add some windmills to the Scott platform!!!
I suppose that if they aren't looking for additional support from the supply chain, it implies that the scott platform is still the chosen route!!!!
Also, despite losing interest in Pmg, but still holding I see that someone dumped 3 lots of 50k shares last week, hope this is not a trend that continues!!!!
Was flagged up a couple of weeks ago on the OGA site?
Indeed:
"The Perth development is located in block 15/21C in the Outer Moray Firth. The initial Core Perth development will comprise up to five production and two water injection wells (phased) tied back via a dedicated manifold. The Concept Select Report has been submitted to the OGA, with discussions continuing. Laterly, we have gone back to re-confirm the status of one of the development concepts. We are not looking for any additional support from the supply chain at this time."
SOB, do you mean Perth?, there is an update on the OGA website for Perth, they require reconfirmation of part of the design concept. No mention of any ongoing negotiations with CNOCC. Is the Scott platform is still the preferred route?
Sanction delayed.
Interesting his expertise is property estate and he knows north east well. Seems a clever chap and Brodies were top notch. More expansion into renewables maybe. GLA.
Spring clean .....changing of the guard...still marching !
Completely agree that reducing over consumption is a way to reduce climate change impact. My preferred method is a carbon footprint tax to change behaviour (no carbon offsetting). Disagree with stance on renewables its based on what happens in the USA mainly and is out of date, re renewables technology and cost benefits. The strand re population control is controversial and unworkable in my view and will only bring out the worst in human nature. The film offers very little in practical solution terms. Rant over! Back to PMG and what I hope will be a successful foray into renewables. An update on the feasibility study which must be nearly completed by now would be welcome. GLA.
Still worth taking note. It’s discredited by some, much of it’s message remains fair, at this time.
This film has been discredited as being out of date as per Wikipedia!
I mentioned on another thread, worth a look at the Michael Moore film ‘planet of the humans’ before deciding if renewables is value add.
It shows the potential if planning permission granted for Pitreadie, it will become a very nice earner. Could double PMG asset value in one fell swoop. Patience required as ever GLA.

This caught my eye in the news today. Does it vindicate the PMG dabble into wind farms? Time will tell!
Believe !
Must say this is holding up so well considering others are tumbling around it !
Wonder why?
Hope she was able to get some plain flour .
"All gone very quiet here!"
We are all awaiting publication of Tom's wife's new vegan cook book. Financed by PMG, of course.
