I think they should be week com 14th May some time, maybe the 16th.
when are they?
Sorry but this time I don't agree with your views. In the Jan up-date they are saying overall growth for the year to date on the plus side and expectations are with a lower debt level than before, all international sales of sweets and cakes are doing great, so I think profits will be fine. Also Director buys just outside the closed period all point to things looking better. I am hoping we turn the tide and the sp goes up to 45p after results and then starts to move up more. But we have been in this position for the last 3-5 years so anything can happen.
I agree with you bistolover, can only see the share price falling further. This company desperately needs a new CEO. Or a company like McCormick that would sort this whole mess out.
just comparing for first half with last year. We have been told trading profits are same, but they failed to mention there was no or little marketing spend in first half of this year, last year marketing spend in first half was 14m, so we could be down in profits when comparing like with like, but company is saying trading in line with expectation, so looks like darby is continuing to cook the books to give impression all is ok. We still don't know why the bonds debt was increased, when according to the company debt is expected to fall, could it be they had to replace all debt with bonds, as they were going to fail banking covenants, so has to not borrow from banks, this to me is indicating profits down a lot if faiing covenants, . The company has not issued a profit warning as they believe they can continue to hide bad trading. To increase sales ( not profits), they are processing nissin uk sales through premier's books. Markets hate corrupt management and will punish the share price, are we witnessing this. Romours about selling batchelors to nissin, also indicates there is something wrong and alternatives are being looked at. SMELL A BAD RAT HERE and darby's finger prints all over it. The shareholders will have to pay for this corrupt management.
AA shareholders are where we were in Oct 2013 when the SP hit 1.85. Quite simply the debt is so much a rights issue will be called soon. Little did we know that the shares in PF would be available for 25p each after the RI. With the AA I feel the RI price will also be 50p and the SP will drop below this.
I sincerely hope that a sudden share price rally is all that we would have in common with the AA. Following 2reincarnated's post I had a quick look at the AA, and see that it's debt is pretty much 4 times it's market value, wow. It almost makes me glad I'm in here rather than there. I think that there actually is what could be a decent if unspectacular business hidden away here, if only we had a decent management team to realise it, rather than darby and his fellow incompetents. I await developments as always more in hope than expectation.
I get the feeling something is going on behind the scenes. There was a cluster purchase of shares by 2 directors back in August and again recently by the new chairman. Also the price action of this share is strange, especially on the open, as if it is being held back for some reason. Just a gut feel.
Just look at the AA. A few weeks ago the SP fell to 70p on debt fears, as those fears have eased, the SP has doubled. http://www.cityam.com/284241/aa-shares-double-value-markets-believe-breakdown-giant-road
When you say on the back of nothing......dont you mean GDs promise of 4% sales growth ?
Your suggestions are perfectly logical. However, I'm still of the belief with PF ''little things go a long way'' On that basis, a small increase in the right sales could get the SP above 65p. Alternatively, debt reduction confirmation could do the same and more. It must be appreciated that Oasis are also a ''hedge fund'' and if they sell at a profit to the right buyer, Nissin would almost certainly have to top up to 29.9% or try and bid for Batchelors. That scenario could see the SP hit a new high above 65p. It must be aqppreciated, the SP hit 57p in Sep 16, on the back of nothing!!!
very poor performance, slip of the mind this time.
In all honesty I don't believe anything much will happen with the results. All I know is it's about bloody time a plan any plan started to work, assuming GD does have some sort of plan apart from his gravy train. I just cannot believe other major shareholders haven't forced him out after his very pore performance over the last few years. Maybe they know more than us and have faith in him, I just think there are many things he could be doing and hasn't yet. After his work with Vodaphone and C&Wireless I thought he was brought in to sell off pfd and that could still happen at some stage.
Hi Oldtimer That seems a reasonable scenario. What makes you think that anything, other than the actual results, will happen at results time ? It would be interesting to know about the current relationship between GD and Nissin. They must have been best mates two years ago....I wonder if that has changed. Also we still dont know what happened to cause Oasis to pull out of their agreement. All very interesting......but we really need to see some action !!!
So after all this time what do you think the state of play is now? If Nissin bought pfd for say 55p a share they would keep Batchelors and sell off everything else for say 300m and end up with Batchelors for free.I think GD still believes the pfd is worth 85p-1 a share, and I think Nissin still want to buy pfd for 50p- 65p max. So if GD cannot sell pfd for 85p- 1 then maybe they do sell off Batchelors for 250m to Nissin and then try to sell what's left for another 300m. I also think Nissin is playing a waiting game while pfd build up total Batchelors sales to a great level that makes it more worth while for Nissin to make the bid, and in-fact that's what's been happening for the last 1-2 years. Either way this should turn out much better than at present.Bring on the results.
G.D tried to kill this report off by saying they always discuss all areas of the business and this was just another normal discussion, but that doesn't mean they are not going to sell it off. If anything is about to happen I guess it would be announced in the results in a few weeks time.
Weird how everyone reported on this. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/premier-in-talks-to-sell-batchelors-brand-to-noodle-pioneer-nissin-foods-hslkbs2cj
Again I bet there will be some very large buys announced after the finish.
whats going on here? 85 trades sell 59,917 buys 1,234,199
SP does nothing, whats new?
Getting desperate now, nobody can deny this company is shambolic. We can only hope something will happen, but who is interested? the SP is being driven lower on no volume. In the past Apollo Management have been active buying up PF debt. https://www.cnbc.com/id/100807167 They are known to bid for companies and have a dirty re: . https://www.ft.com/content/80b29126-3f14-11e8-b7e0-52972418fec4
Think you need a drink old chap - steady that trigger finger :-)
I and many others hope you are right Oldtimer. By fly I hope you mean like in take off and not off a cliff?
