this must be something special to cost this much. 5 biscuits for £2

Feels a little flat but what we're we expecting, was not going to be anywhere near like lock down levels.
We need to also take on board the issues with logistics, driver shortages etc. This may also have played a part.
If I'm not mistaken it's also the summer trading and we do far better during the winter months.
Overall a reasonable set of numbers. ( International growth will pick up once external issues subside but is still a small part of whole....circa 7.5% in 2018 leaving plenty of room for growth, so no worries ). Remains a firm hold for me having enjoyed the ride from the “Darby days “. Leave the Market to display its usual short term pessimism !
Hmmmmmmm, It looks like they have tried to pull out all/ any good news where they can find it.
That seems to be against 2 years ago where they are well up in a number of areas but against last years not so good, where we seem to be down on some areas. OK debt is down a little more but still no divi so I can see the SP goin down a little today.but what do I know.
At the close. Does someone know something that we don’t ?
3cardbrag, I agree totally.
I'm expecting the first interim div since 2008 !!
As long there is an interim div SP will rise, even if its not great news (I think!).
Jed. I reckon it's all about the divvy now0. If they do become a regular feature this should hopefully attract a new audience to PFD.
Hi Rabbits.
I am thinking things have changed here.
Whereas it was predictable the price would drop on results day, I am looking at the situation in a new light.
A year at a steady level SP, we can all see a more positive structured approach from the board, debt reduced.
Great products and one other thing for me, this is the year for surprises, hopefully positive, in many ways similar to the M&S story at present. Up 30p on results day!
Can't say I've heard bad news for this business. I am sticking my neck out for a jump in price tomorrow and bought more @110p last week!
All imho of course!
Must admit I am a little disappointed about the sp, I thought it would have been approx £1.20- £1.30 for the results and then fall back a little as it normally does. But to not even be back to the £1.20 mark why?.
After the last year I also thought PFD was going to be trading as normal about the £1.50- £2 mark with all those extra sales but maybe the city just doesn't see it that way. Who knows where we go from here, I just hope we don't get any bad news otherwise this could be back to 90p ish.
That is / was my plan
I noticed it spiked up a little first thing
I will probably bottle it , unless it hits a little higher later on this afternoon
GL
Anyone expecting any “rabbits out of the hat” tomorrow…..or just business as usual ?
As ever, my dilemma is shall I sell a few today, expecting the usual decline in the SP after the results or do as I always do and sit on my hands
Difficult call on PFD v. ABF...ABF //BOO has supply chain issues vis-à-vis ESG concerns..ie: not logistics. PFD and Nissin foods tie-up has changed profile of PFD's offerings for the better.
Just enjoying one of the new mince pies with custard with my cuppa not bad !
Making the most of the peace before all the fireworks begin ……
( I don’t mean results day but you never know ) ; )
I was thinking the same as well …. to try and sell on the usual rise , I always wimp out and just leave it.
This time surely debt has been reduced even more
and pension pots under control maybe on results day it will actually go to £1.30 !?
Hmm
It’s fun being with PFD isn’t it !!
Maybe poorer than expected results and the SP shoots up ?
What we really need is a bit of takeover speculation
So normally we would see the sp going up until the results come out and then they would normally fall back and surprise us all.
Are we going to be different this time as the SP has stalled around the £1.05 - £1.10 mark, does that mean we will still see a big drop back to say 90p after results even though they should be good or will we all be caught out and see the SP shoot up.
Given up trying to guess this one out.
Agreed. If PFD are going to jump on the woke bandwagon at the expense of the bottom line, then I am out.
Typical PFD diversionary tactic. Focus on anything other than value enhancement for shareholders. Get real guys and focus on what’s really important to investors. Too many soft skills being displayed here.
re:swings. I have feeling of some fat cats shaking boat, prices often stop dead at certain top or bottom levels.
But if no global economy crash, I would expect "nice price" on November's new ShareSave season announcement, "good" on Feb, and "crashy" after March ShareSave sales (year '18, with 30p/share if I recall) starts.
Sales going well, problem is "free shelves" available at retailers, but you can squeeze out just so much. Machines working out of resource, I would expect CAPEX increases, but this is just my opinion.
The only woke thing missing from today's RNS was the appointment of the Markles as global gender neutral, plant food ambassadors.
Lol
With debt of over £300m, albeit, it was reduced by £100m last year, dividends are a little premature.
Building up the balance sheet will result in excellent dividends in the future, rather than small ones now.
The recovery of PFD has taken so long, it shouldn’t be jeopardised in the final stretch.
I like the miss print of this, or is it true.?
Achieve Net Zero for direct emissions by 20403
O' dear, have we now got some green party memebr in charge of things and want pfd to looked at as green.
Just how much is all this going to cost and will it drive total extra sales and profits.
They talk about 2030 etc but I think PFD will be taken out well before then, let's see what the city think, if anything.
Sorry but I am old and cynical.
I am interested in Sales, Profit, Cash, borrowings and dividends etc……..so for me this is just meaningless clap trap. Bring on 16th November.
I think only way the shares will move up is if PFD announces interim dividend.
Last time that happened was august 2006, fingers crossed.
