40p is a hard call.. The computer trader is keeping this very tight. Next week though the divi so er indoors want a steak at Spoons.. May even afford a drink..
When do u think these shares might be worth a €1 again???
Do you agree we are being held in a vice... Who is building a stake..............?????????????????????
I don't think there's any direct relationship. The Schroders RNS relates to voting right for 30m+ shares. These have not been traded recently. I think some of the change relates to CFDs.
That being the case, please explain why since the schroders announcement the SP has went down 8%.
Because its history, saying what happened last week, any effect it may have had is already factored into the price. Its not the sort of RNS that makes anyone rethink their own investment.
How does the schroders announcement yesterday affect the SP.
nothing - there's no volume.
Nearly 5% down, whats going on.
I don't really understand what your problem is. ATs may well reduce volatility - so bad for traders. What's the problem with GRPH? The majority of trades appear to be Os. Iceberg trading is one of those things that come and go on particular stocks - and can badly affect the SP on Aim I agree - but PDG is not now a penny stock, or on Aim. I suggest you find a stock you are more comfortable with, since the ATers are not going to go away.
If you think auto trades do not matter look at GRPH. Iceberg selling is disastrous for many Aim shares. This is ng held firmly at about a 20% discount off highs and the computer traders are making a nice little profit. Since the end of stamp duty they have bought many aim traders to their knees. Still at some point they will move on. Whether I am still here is a matter of conjecture..
Don't worry about the ATs. Most larger companies are computer traded in exactly the same way - eg just check the likes of INCH or LLOY. It doesn't make any difference to the price of the stock. The fact that we are bobbing up and down in this narrow bracket simply shows the current agreement on the fair value for the stock. We may think it should be more, but I'm afraid the expected good results are largely factored in by the market. There is ongoing general economic/world uncertainty which weighs more heavily on the car sector than others, I imagine.
Well lets see what happens today, are we going to see a new 5 month high or are we going to get autotraded back down. Cant't wait the excitement is all too much. There has not been one hint of bad news in the last six months, only positive news and yet they are all off the yearly highs, Pendragon,Vertu, Lookers, Inchcape.
Agree. Results failed to get rid of the autotrades so like a lot more companies we are suffering from the computer trader. Computer traders are bringing the market to a point where investing is becoming a waste of time... Will give this a while longer though as August is the silly season.
Lets hope so, but SP should be going up on the back of there own results, not someone else's resuls. Seems to be a lot of selling and not much buying. Gradually going off this company. Thought it was sound investment in march, not to sure now. Would even be happy to break even £0.34
Think this will get a further boost on the back of Lookers next week..I thought with the excellent rsut this would have risen a bit more than it has..
Yes, thanks, EyeGuy. Much of my portfolio not doing so well this year, but overall in profit. Hope you are doing well too.
Now is de-risking this even more. Soon will be under £100 mill. Surprised this is still at 32-33p.
Yep.. Have a member of family in specialised car finance and they are going from strength to strength. Should they float in the next few months I would buy a large chunk of them but at the moment they a private... Feel sure with this et of results this will now re rate as suggested below..
Finance has always been the cash cow of the industry along with all the additional products, insurance, alloy wheel protection, paint protection, extended warranties, service plans, seasonal offers, ie winter checks etc. Margins on new and used vehicles are minimal and no dealership can operate profitably just on the sale of the vehicle alone.
Just as I thought . All around me people are driving about in new cars which are largely funded by finance. Profits do look exceptional here. Car finance is the new cash cow of the industry...
Hi mathsprof. Hope you are well. The whole debt should be gone in 2-3 years. With dividends firmly back on the table this is looking very strong
Just what I've been waiting for. Excellent especially with increased dividend.
Fantastic. 39% increase profit before tax. Dividend increase. Better debt reduction. This should now climb back. Just wait for the broker better ratings to fly in now
Amazing results. This should re rate back to the 40's
