just a matter of time - digital wallet is jewel in the crown in the race to be a competitor to 800lb gorilla that is PAYPAL
Looks really ripe for a bid. That in itself will keep the price rising.
thanks UncleJohn: the fact that the market was expecting a bigger bid to succeed and that JPMorgan pulled-out almost immediately they knew the Vantiv bid was serious is possibly why the PAYS price this morning is "soft". Out of interest, did you include in your calculations that Vantiv are also clearing the £1.40bn loans as part of the purchase price? That puts the total price paid for Worldpay at £9.10bn.
As at close of business today, over 12 and 24 months the share price for Worldpay and Paysafe have increased by the same percentage. i.e. it has taken a bid for Worldpay to put it on the same level as Paysafe. If Paysafe had a p/e the same as the level achieved by the bid for Worldpay, the share price would be over £10. Now there's a thought. Incidentally the market was anticipating a higher bid for Worldpay and therefore a p/e in excess of 30.
Interesting .... by my math at 385p a share WPG was sold at a PE of 27 ...the weak FX rate of 1.13 compared to the 1.57 pre Brexit really has made higher PE multiples logical for US acquirers of UK plc's. At 515p PAYS is on a 2018E PE of 9.6 - so I suspect US multinationals might quickly see PAYS as very cheap given the weak cable FX rate
Just announced on Cityam that Vantiv have beaten JP Morgan in their bid for Worldpay - so is JPMorgan still in the market with a suitcase of cash?
Brokers likely to up target sp of digital payment providers in coming weeks - WPG reported price tag of 450-500p puts it on a 30+ PE multiple PAYS target sp currently at PE of 11-13 is just way too cheap - just a matter of time before we become a target
The M&A season is now officially open in the Payments sector !! - this can only be good news in eroding the massive discount to peers - attractive targets like PAYS who are generating cash at a phenomenal rate and are virtually debt free and growing at double digit levels annually and significant pipeline of new digital products - I suspect our sp will soon start to reflect our true worth !!
The SP of Worldpay (WPG) is up 7% to 344 (MV = £6.90bn) this morning on rumours that both MasterCard and Visa are in the market to buy. We could see some consolidation coming.
Hiya, you still out there? I got stung on FXI recently, hope you were out by then. Made a lot of it back on IDP and expect to recover all those losses and a bit more in the months to come there. Still in and out of PAYS on a regular basis. Have a core holding now and just trading the waves. GL.
I've trimmed my holding (took 520) recently but PAYS still represents 25% of my SIPP.
Is this being walked down? Where are the big buyers? Must start to go back up soon
Well I topped up a little today. Just the 4 Million shares! :-)
Still long and strong Uncle John :) ....... get the feeling we are not far away from an announcement - perhaps we will see the higher end of your prediction in the not too distant future. GLA
Shorts closing steadily as well
What's happened to Wolfhound and Technie, I always enjoyed your posts. Not bailed out I hope. You will probably not remember but I posted several months ago that with patience this share would get to £6 within 12 months. Well we are well on the way there without any m&a announcement. Indeed £7 is not now out of the question within the next 12 months with a bit of patience and without a major worldwide pullback. As always DYOR
Love the video - excellent advertising!!!
I believe this could become next growth story of PAYS and also help it to promote its payment process system in Canada.
https://fansentertainment.com/ Very inspiring product, Just launched in Canada recently and now started to rolling out.
Great news. Been riding this one all the way. Still got some way to go.
Good to see shorts down to around 1% now and falling steadily.
Thanks BB. Seems the share price is going back from where it started. No news no upward movement.
Half Year results are usually announced mid August although there is nothing on their financial calendar to confirm this. In 2015 they gave a Trading Update in early July. Mid to late August would be my guess barring any M&A activity in the meantime.
Does anyone knows the result date ?
Nice rise over the 500 mark today. Hopefully we can cling on to this and make sustained progress from here. Certainly needs to for me to make up for the FXI debacle and loss! The old term 'a wunch of Bankers' comes to mind!
