Hopefully buying to block vote
Time will tell
Still going to hold till the end
Or till more info
Gl
So, are we looking at shares being acquired for a blocking vote, or to push through the offer ?
Is the blocking vote on solid ground and not skating on thin ice !
Interesting that details on scheduling of vote have yet to be released.
Guess that will be RNS's in the morning.
Bun fight has begun and I get the impression institutions know there is mileage in the offer still, I do hope so.

Sold mine yesterday, i've been in TRIN for two years now, well worth a look for med-long term, directors own 23%,
3000 bopd, operating break even $28, no debt and cash in the bank. GLA
No No...The investigation should go back to 2008 as a minimum not just from 2012....Ophir not losing all or substantially all of its Bualuang field interests in the Gulf of Thailand.- what does that sentence mean
The press release is cryptic. What have Medco spent the cash on then any boffins who know """Press Release""""Ophir not losing all or substantially all of its Bualuang field interests in the Gulf of Thailand"""Mentioned many many times as the "Cash Cow" of Soco,Salamander and Ophir. I was assuming Medco was buy all the assets..... This has got me stumped. Maybe i am stupid or just a Muppet!
MS picked up 14,000,000 shares yesterday.
That's around 7% now in total
thx mytton... i have been looking at JSE and agree it looks positive. The company seems to have strong well hedged cash-flows at $73/bbl plus i like that two key shareholders are on the board so more likely to deliver shareholder value compared to ophir ..... i noticed the non-exec chairman was in charge of strategy at Ophir but seems like left sometime ago.
Next opportunity... why not take a look at JSE . New to AIM since August 2018. Overlooked and not much interest at present but production up and profitable with 'strong cashflow'.
I lost on this one .... I would prefer a change of management than a sale at 55p, I will hold out a little longer in case the activist shareholders go against the management but also look for the next opportunity.....
Put it in rre and you should get that back this year
I'm down over 100K on this F@@k share, I'm lost for words!
The board are absolutely criminals. They should at the least be an investigation into their shady dealing over the last year!!!
Expect Ophir to trade at a premium to Medco offer of 55p after due consideration, A higher offer is necessary to suceed.
Moved from OPHR to SDX. 2019 looking good. Production up. South Disouq finally getting first gas in mid 2019. SP weakness may be over. Large buy earlier.
Tomorrows 8.3's will give some indication if the institutions are looking for an increased offer or possible white knight.
+30m shares traded today so far.

I would like to thank everyone whos been contributing to this bb for ophir over the last year or so. Although i very rarely write myself im grateful for those that do. Im sorry for the LTHs. After reading some posts today I hope they manage to have luck else where to put things back right. Anyway thank you again those who contributed on here good luck all.
RRE stated in the core finance interview 15 th of Dec that a divi is ontbd cards same as last year. that was done on the 15th of Feb last year so I would expect the same if not a value creating deal win win imho
Had my pants pulled down with SDX over the last 4 months .... not this time around, I will be greased and ready.
SQZ is my safe haven for the foreseeable.
Low opex, cash generative, no debt or very little with great producing assets at a low mcap is the only way forward imo. Although I do think the time is limited with O&G's companies particularly those on AIM
Cheers Harts
Some decent thoughts there! I tend to steer away from debt ridden companies ! I haven’t invested in a heavily indebted company since Afren in 2014!
SDX is extremely cheap!
PMO might be worth a punt at 60p and ENQ at 18p
Well to me the "BOD" should not be given a single cent should the sale actually happen. Any spare cash should be given to those investors that lost a lot of cash. To me if the sale happens with "Medco" it just stinks. In only a matter of 10 years and this would be the 4th sale of the so called "Assets" (GFI, Salamander, Ophir and now possibly Medco). The only people gained from this is senior management who all have found other jobs or retired in the sun.
I'm invested in SDX, great company very undervalued at the moment. Normally has it's best performance between Jan - May. Weird things happen with the SP though like great news and no rise in SP then all of sudden it storms upwards. They have just removed from TSX as well. Can't go wrong with RPT, RRE and JKX but I may wait for the dips to add more. Amerisur might be a good shout at around 15p. If you want a huge amount of risk and a poorly run company you could go for Angs. But could be an easy bagger if they get Brockham to flow, could also get many a placing. PMO and ENQ looks pretty cheap. Those are my thoughts.
Do we know % of acceptances yet? Is it a done deal or is there a chance of a counter offer?
The best thing about BBs is exchanging investment ideas and research .... having made a big stash of cash in a short period of time, the question is what oilies deserve this hard earned! I have some ideas but would like to exchange some thoughts ...my current short list includes
RRE undervalued North Sea oily producing 11000 bopd and an EBITDA the same as the market cap debt free and cash rich
TRIN undervalued Trinidad oily producing 3000 BOPD debt free and cash rich
TXP Trinidad focused very low market cap and an active exploration programme in Q2
SDX North Africa focused has plans to bring SD online at mid year and will reach 10,000 boepd
Soco International Share price has been hammered and now stabilised at 10 years lows ... South east Asia assets and just made an acquisition in Egypt! Big expansion plans ! Returns annual dividend currently equal to 7% of SP
Workover,
Choose your next investments wisely ... stocks have never been so difficult to pick. So much stacked against PI's in today's markets.
