had a feeling this might happen. the volume on this things literally speaks volumes. this share carries no interest whatsoever to the general market place.
looks like going back down, really need some good news on this Fortuna project with regard to a partner, thats what the markets want to hear, notice cash pile is coming down fast as well
Looking at the chart for the last year, it looks like a double bottom formed, and we're now breaking out on the upside. But I'm not a chartist. Anyone out there do any charting, and have thoughts?
feel if we can break that 80p and stay above 4 a while then the upward trend will continue, very under valued just need to bring these assets on line
No volume though and no news - oil ng not justifying this rise.. Hope you're right AA but I can see this thing staying in the 68-78 bracket until either news or volume get going
Going well, could hit 80p today if it keeps this up, quite impressive.
A better day, hopefully get back to 80p soon.
Cash is king.....premier are in a perilous postion with II's breathing down their neck, whilst not as much tullow have too, with oil not likely to rise until late 2017, not a great position to be in, must mean the bod has to take their eye of the ball to deal with much of these pressing and highly important issues regardless of the consultants they employ to manage it on their behalf. Much prefer having lots of cash in the bank to weather any potential storms and give strength to any potential negotiations for partnering and allow the bod to focus on cash generation etc. Good company, well managed and should come good soon.
not to bothered by the shrinking cash on balance sheet, tullow and premier oil have proved you have to spend big to bring quality assets on line, tullow was 4.7 billion in red and premier oil over 2 billion in red, compare that here to us being cash positive and a estimated cost of say 500 millionn to get e guinea project on line then as you can see if we can get a partner and get that asset producing we will have good revenue coming in. LNG looks like its the future and thats what attracts me here. i still think we should sell the last 20% of tanzania project off to get this e guinea asset on line and on time.
Ophir's net cash on balance sheet shrank to $207m at the end of June from $392m at the same time in 2015.
Burning through their cash pile at a faster rate than expected whilst looking for a partner.....according to article in the telegraph, trust the board to find one soon and price will reflect accordingly. GLA.
positive set of results in my opinion. ophir are not a wreckless spend all the money company like some, they are prudent and have good future plans that they will bring to market with the best value for their shareholders. if i was ophir i would sell their stake in tanzania and put that cash into the e guinea project which is ready for fid and will bring cash online by around 2019/2020
Enthusiasm from the market. But of a turkey eh?
results out tomorrow. let the numbers do the talking ;-)
The fact that we are up today whe most oil stocks are down is encouraging for tomorrow but what the feck do I know?
Wonder if this will finish down...I think so :/
Market clearly unimpressed Suspect this greatly reduces cash balances which puts us at more risk
It's us that need the time machine,
This thing needs a time machine!
also that cash pile being eaten into, bid I feel unlikely now
not really the update I feel markets wanted no mention of Fortuna floating liquid natural gas (FLNG) project which suggests that no in roads have been made on this, oil down big today dragging this stock down,
I'd like a job in Ophir's PR department. Just snooze the days away.
You guy's are right.Nothing seems to move this. The RNS was all good news and results expected Thursday unyet nothing stirring. In contrast you have Sound Energy which is also gas shooting up at a ridiculous rate well past this unyet they are still in early stages. We are producing, have proven assets and have a large amount of cash/no debt.It proves it is all about interest/communication and dare I say it hype/ramping.We have all seen shares shoot up on hardly anything and other strong company shares languish for years. To think I sold Sound Energy years ago for a small profit at 7p!!! It is not just about picking the right shares it is also timing it right which makes it VERY difficult/risky!! Let's hope we get some good news on thu.GLA
It's like that film "The Land that time forgot" just needs Doug Mclure,
It's as though everyone is oblivious to it.. Financials due and volume very low I can only assume no news of interest expected.. Reduction in cash on account and that will be that. Not even an update on our gas projects has stimulated any interest!
