RegulatorUK Agree completely but they would be remiss not to try out all options for testing, which will include the Odx/Mologic antigen no doubt. Hopefully a good update re this on Wed.
Our time will come. I'm eagerly waiting for the mother of all Christmas present.
Thanks Regulator, and fully agree, localised / home testing is very likely the way this will go.
The fact that the likes of Boots are starting to get into a position to offer any kind of test is a big step forward. The lateral flow market is still in a pre market phase yet to be established. We have ideal products to penetrate the market. And a huge market it will be,much greater than what we can produce.
Personally i dont see many people laying out £120 if they have no symptoms - just to check. A few companies may be wiling to check their employess but general public - a handful - what are they thinking we'll all pop to Boots on a monthly basis just to check and handover £120 each time not a chance . I think for this to even be close to reality £10 to £30 No more (IMHO)
"The scottish govt are looking at new testing technologies including this one. The purpose, assuming validated, is to test specific asymtomatic groups currently being decided. Likely to be visitors to care homes being one group, it will therefore be free to these groups."
Problem is, it only just meets the MHRA requirements and is professional POC use only. It's an expensive way of doing what an LFT can do quickly and cheaply.

None of it’s free because you don’t have symptoms, it’s more of a choice to travel, do what your doing and hence the need for a test rather than suffering and needing to quarantine. This is people testing to do more rather than testing to quarantine. Government will push as much of this on people to pay and then pick up extra test if results are positive
so if your in Scotland surely you would get it free on the NHS?
£120 a test shows how we’re in the right business!!
"I Wonder who’s kit Boots will be using" from bbc news..The technology has been developed by LumiraDx, which has also struck a deal to provide supplies to the NHS in Scotland.
"I Wonder who’s kit Boots will be using, for results in 12mins ??? Anyone know?
They are milking it some at prices stated."
It's the Lumira DX kit. It's a swab antigen test with a specialised reader.
Once a self-use or professional POC LFT comes along, the LumiraDX will be old tech...

Regulator - sorry, you are right. I was working from memory. CE approval on 30 July!
Not sure where you got 30 July from.
The self-test usability study wasn't completed until 6 September and the University of Ulster report was submitted to MHRA at the beginning of October.
30 July
Hi guys.
When did we submit for MHRA to approve please? Can't find in RNS'...
