Did matty boy not say "We have bought HUGE amounts" we already have them, in a separate sentence to the 40,000.
Too many conflicting pieces of news but if you go by Han.....looks like news/agreement/freeze has gone from "tommorrow" to sometime in the future which is a tad frustrating.
Not really, it's just a smoke screen - confusion is good.
Remember Han**** said he had not really heard of Novacyt just a couple of days before they were awarded a massive contract. Hmmm....
Is design freeze the chemistry of it all working or is it the chemistry plus ease of use?
If it’s both then understandable that we still don’t have it if it’s still being tested for ease of usage.
I’m no expert but would have thought the accuracy of the test is a harder but to crack than how easy it is for people to use.
Design freeze is just for the strip inside to have achieved the accuracy and specificity bar of 98% or above. This is the mark where it’s deemed possible to test whole populations with accuracy. So the test strip inside has to be 98% or better, as good as a lab test, as good as humanly possible.
The assessment for ease of use is for the whole package, cassette and finger prick system etc. all of which already exist.
That’s how I understand it and as a Design Engineer myself, that makes sense to me and logically, that’s how things are done.
Hi PurleyKing, if you read back, you'll see that a number of posters believe design freeze already been achieved. Alternatively, we can believe a suggested copy of an email from ODX saying it hasn't. Not sure this information would be provided in an email to an investor!? ha
I believe tonight was a "MATTY RNS", orchestrated question from a person with no surname. I believe he said we have BOUGHT HUGE QUANTITIES, we already have them, the problem is not the test, it's what do the antibodies tell them. He even went on about a couple of drops of blood on a strip. The only caveat is if he is talking about the 50 million, the CEO was forced to deny any knowledge. I am happy with my thoughts, was going to say i'll sleep well, I won't, fully expect news am GLA
paul.mcmanus@walbrookpr.com There’s his email, try him yourself
Why do the skynews interview ? You would never go out and promote a product you have not finished. You would never go out and shout about a product that does not work or is miles away. Imo, the product is all done and ODX believe it has met all the requirements.
However, similar to the Mologic kit, it has to be sent to PHE validation. As the government has already made a f up by not testing the Chinese product, they cannot afford to mess up again. I think they're taking longer than expected which may be why the ODX chief went out to talk about his product on skynews. If you test positive, how long are you immune? Can you infect others after testing positive? Gov wants clarity before they send this kit out to the wider public, which in a way makes sense to me. The gov is dictating matters me think.
My personal opinion is that design freeze is a fairly loose term that is open to interpretation and that they may well be hiding behind this ambiguity, which is evident in the fact that nobody really knows what it means. But for me design freeze means the product is good to go from factory to shelf, and there is more to it that the assay strip.
And it seems he does just sign his emails as "Paul"
Brilliant Elon, thanks for that link. Now I have so kindly posted a picture on that same thread which is a screen shot off my phone. If you could just have a little pop back on the link and have a look, cast that keen eye of yours over it for your seal of approval. Much appreciated
Merchant- my thoughts exactly. They will be trying a couple of different designs with the test. They ll go with the one that the focus group says is the most simple to use. “design Freeze” will then be announced.
Thanks Danny... I always believed you were genuine!! Being beaten over the head is all part of the fun on LSE... nobody believes antibody... erm, I mean anybody! Design freeze soon.. then it's off to the races!! ;)
