VanV, I wish the government would publish, as I have said so many times, detailed Gantt charts demonstrating how they intend to make their 100,000 tests / day actually happen - precision plastic tubing and micro pipettes, lyses reagent, transport media and everything else.
I just don't have confidence that that there is an adequate grip, notwithstanding Matt Han****'s determination, of all the intricacies of making it happen.
Gantt charts could be something to prime Peston with, again?
QuickDraw eere Roche not one of the first Companies to hoghlight the shortage of chemicals for the reagents? I recall reading a post on this BB about this ...need to check it was Roche..
The comment made at the time was that PrimerDesign use different reagents.
UK must have a massive chemical industry.
With the Govt involovement I would hope this industry is now being galvanised to drive the UK forward from where we are to where we need to be wrt chemicals.
It was also reported that precision plastics eere also may also lead to manufacturing restrictions. Same argument should apply. Govt needs to involve all Companies to support its requirement of 100k tests/day.
With assistance from AZN and GSK hopefully this is achievable. It also might mean that previous limitating factors for manufacturing for other orders (Middle East, India,... (all 193 countries on the globe) can also be addressed.
Every country is at a diffeent stage in the pendamic cycle. As test, test, test is the WHO recommended direction of travel then demand for NCYT (WHO approved product) is just massive.
Qiagen was taken over by TF for $11.1B in Early March. I do not see Qiagen/TF in the WHO document. I do not see anyone other than NCYT declaring 100% homology (checked on a daily basis) afainst mutation. Now I see we are one of the fastest PCR tests in the world!
Has this been priced into the SP??? Absolutely NOT.
I would conclude it might if perhaps our market cap was in the £Billions ...
Time will tell.
NCYT have the right product at the right time and demand will now be every country on the globe.Whats not to like? Why would I want to sell??????
VAnv , I also ask myself the same with Novacyt, on one hand looking at the rise since late January to now you'd think it couldnae do much more( me being of the non knowledgeable guesser type) ,
but due to the scale of this pandemic( still unfolding) and health systems ( worldwide not just UK NHS) that are running lean ,
Also due to this affecting multiple countries and all continents , then the scope of demand is huge as we all know( and rising).
The big factor for Novacyt is to make sure it has the access to the raw materials to make thier kits and test them and ensure production capabilities are available to handle WORLDWIDErequirements!! , and that will also be a risk to them as the big players like Roche will be all over that i would expect. Quickdraw may manage to get some info on the raw materials as he mentioned that would be his next research area.
Im not in with much about 3 k in mid february , but I'm just going to sit tight at present, as i think the biggest headache of all countries leaders will be an exit strategy from lockdown.......can anyone think of one that doesn't involve testing ??? So thats why i think we've got a good bit to run yet- hopefully! GLA
VanV for me it's too early to gauge the top. Novacyt can sell whatever they make. Hopefully **** nudge accelerates ramp up.
The other variable is raw material supply, I'm starting switching my focus to the supply chain. I'll share my findings
6:23 to go, good morning :-)
Thanks again VanV and all
...And talking of testing. I watched Newsnight earlier. A lot of commentators were saying, when asked about exit strategies, that
testing is going to be needed on a massive scale before we can start to get back to normal life.
Like the silent majority who read this BB I can't fail to be impressed and indeed grateful for your adroit contributions and your proactive efforts to argue the merits of NCYT, Van. But unlike Silver who has a big girl's hissy fit the very instant anyone dares to challenge the intoxicating mood of optimism you address dissent with good faith, with good manners, and with facts. Not a bad 1,2,3 combination
And anyone with a genuine confidence in this share - like me - rather than doing a Silver chucking their toys out and filtering those who don’t should welcome the opportunity to have their convictions tested, and tested, and tested again. And you do Van. And for that - not that it will change your life one jot - you have my respect.
GLA!
