Corporate Update
Motif Bio plc (AIM: MTFB), which has been reclassified as an AIM Rule 15 cash shell, provides an update on corporate developments.
As announced on 28 January 2020, Motif Inc. ceased all operations and engaged Tamarack Associates to facilitate the sale of iclaprim and other assets of Motif Inc. It remains the case that in spite of a comprehensive outreach programme, no transaction is currently pending for the sale of Motif Inc.'s assets and there can be no assurance that there will be a transaction to monetise the assets.
Following reclassification, the Company is required to make an acquisition which constitutes a reverse takeover under the AIM Rules by 28 July 2020, failing which the Company's ordinary shares would be suspended from trading on AIM pursuant to AIM Rule 40. The Company's admission to trading on AIM would then be cancelled six months from the date of suspension, should the reason for the suspension not have been rectified.
The Company's Directors remain focused on sourcing an appropriate reverse takeover candidate for Motif Bio and this search continues. At present, no assurances can be provided that the effort will be successful to source and/or complete a reverse takeover transaction. The Company's Directors will provide shareholders with further updates as appropriate.
The Company currently has sufficient working capital into May 2020. As such, the Directors continue to impose disciplined cost controls and the Company is maintaining very limited operations.
I’d say they are filing an order. Buy at any price below X. And they took those. Expect a few holding RNS’s. IMHO dyor I could be wrong.
LB28 are you invested/going to invest here?
their AGM will it still be end MAY
Looking at a snapshot of the 1.8p spike:
04-May-20 16:20:04 1.28 680,000 Sell* 8,704 UT
04-May-20 16:19:34 1.7998 55,009 Sell* 990.05 O
04-May-20 16:18:13 1.7998 55,231 Sell* 994.05 O
04-May-20 16:17:46 1.2002 53,592 Buy* 643.21 O
So a small buy went through at 1.2p. This next 2 transactions are rather weird, as they are fairly small sells but at 1.8p, which is 50% higher than what the price MTFB had been trading at. Straight after there was an uncrossing trade sell at 1.28p to reset the price back down again. A few subsequent sells went though at 1.3p.
So what caused the spike up to 1.8p and why were these sells rather than buys?
My guess is the MMs saw that there were a couple of limit sells set at around 1.8p and they wanted to buy these up so they raised the bid to 1.8p for a couple of minutes to trigger these sells. Did anybody see what the ask was during this time? I'm guessing it must have been somewhere between 1.9p and 2p and nobody bought during this period. It hardly seems worth it to secure just over 100,000 shares but that is what appears to have happened IMO.
Has anybody else seen this sort of thing happen before and know the reason for it?

Good info!!
the end of motif is only a curtain away.
Jj:-))
Sounds good dead cat bounce for sure.
will this sink like a brick in the morning or have a climb for a time due to all the orders lined up
Sam
I do believe investors will be left dry(RTO carry that risk). But that does not mean Jack s**t atm with covid 19. I will buy for the fun of it just to say I got the last profit out of lumsden tenur
One of my best buys ever and my best single day return ever. Looking forward to tomorrow.
Might need to raise that from this morning.
14th April. Movement of share price. Hmmmm
Chris Wardaugh specialises in Company acquisitions and has bloody overseen the launch of 8 pharmaceutical products around the world.
If you interested, just buy like everyone or you are waiting to be spoon feed. If it's that easy, we will all make profit and no loss.
Well done Longrun, I wish I'd done the same. Can I have your Shares lol. Maybe I will buy tomorrow, but knowing my luck the Shares will go down. Good luck to you and to everyone else.
People make a company, simple as that. Board appointments or firings can effect some companies to the tune of hundreds of millions. Imagine if Bezos left Amazon, that would lose a few billion on the same day.
I see it has to be completed by 28th July, worst case it isn’t does that mean all investors lose there shares/money, I highly doubt it will happen due to the people we have on the board but want to also cover worst case scenario
I'm thinking Facebook rise here. I advised but got chastised. It's a bet but just if ...just imagine you are right on a scary bet...if imright 50% of profits going to local hospice care. Maybe more
Thank you pokerock and mojo been a great day for all and hopefully if I do decide to buy in it continues and I don’t ruin it for everyone like normal haha
Amazing post and sound advice, I cottoned on to the dots 1st thing, have a little conviction on why you bought into the concept and stick with it.
Sam, all I will say is people chase rainbows and sometimes get caught out, and other times sit on the sidelines asking others what to do and miss the boat. The best advice is to do your own research, and follow your own gut feeling. I’ve done that here with this share, and I personally believe it’s got more legs than a millipede. Good luck with whatever you choose to do, but be sure to follow your own beliefs.
It was really difficult to buy or sell anything towards the end of the day. Buying pressure was intense going into the close Sam. Might bode well for tomorrow morning. As the rest have mentioned, have a look at RTOs.
.....imho going to unrecognisably change this company, and you can easily multi-multi bag from this very low MCAP. If you want to stay on the sidelines and watch them great, but don’t start your derailing when this multiplies in value again in the coming days and weeks. GLA
no problem don't forget it is your money ( don't part with it unless you can afford to lose it ) but look at reverse takeover explained
