to buy back in here, but that short by Marshall Wace is very off putting!
On the brighter side, it has been reducing from its peak of 1.62% in July. Thoughts anyone?
This share looked like it would be the best recovery stock post pandemic. Could things of got any worse for it?
Real runt of the ftse 100. Goes back to paying the bid premium on GKN. This is now worth less than gkn pre melrose interest and certainly well under the £8bn.. Awful 4 years for the original shareholders, it will turn but i feel it will take at least a year. I just don’t see what good news imminent and i cant be bothered with demerger trickery, the return of cash was a joke, the buy back now seems pointless….
Looks like it's heading back towards the years low at around £1.08.
This is not a share which does well in a recession so whether £1.08 will hold is anyone's guess - although £1.08ish would be a fantastic entry (with management recently buying at £1.34).
Top up again if it hits 96p
this is sinking by the day!! wonder what bottom will be? gla.
Needs results now not pointless buybacks and spin offs. The market will turn for them and they are well placed but going to be a long term hold. Today was an up day for the ftse what a shame they did this rns!
Every update we have a drastic fall, recovers a little then repeat, very disappointing share to hold
Very dissapointing day - come on MRO do better
I don't think it's quite as easy as that, if only it was.
Yes seems to have become a good trading share 1.49 today prob back to 1.60 end of next week 5% to be made pretty regularly imo
i think that will struggle , when to buy? ,,,?watching .
Trenners - glad to note you remain optimistic. I will keep close eye and perhaps change my mind about adding on.
I do admire the entrepueurnship attitude of management and acknowledge they've had some rough waves to ride
in recent years - but maybe thats always how it is.
@Option1 - Melrose is a great share but it has always made big movements (up and down) for no apparent reason - sometimes shifting 10% or more in a couple of trading sessions.
Not for the feint hearted - but it is a really well run company with significant assets and any purchase in the £1.40s or below will reward you handsomely.
Management last bought shares at about £1.34 and they are usually very astute with their purchases.
I wouldn't worry about the lurching about too much - and I will be adding more if we get back around the £1.40s
Trenners
For many years MRO was one of the outstanding shares of my portfolio.
Sadly in recent times its attractions have lessened and I don't like to see such significant drops in
the sp for no apparent reason. I will not be adding.
I know the buy back has finished and reduced shares available from to tomorrow, but that should be a good thing
Seem to start 5 mins before the US open, cant find any reason for it by way of news
No was wondering myself, start getting back to a reasonable share price and bang down again!
This afternoon , any one got any ideas ?
Good news but will the SP go up as there are many other companies doing the same. Hope we get Updated from the company.
UK-based multinational company GKN Aerospace, which specialises in supplying components for the aerospace industry, reported today that its superconducting cryogenic technology would facilitate the implementation of hydrogen-electric propulsion systems on large aircraft.

No it won’t. Strategic importance and Golden Share.
That is not to say that RR do not need some impetus……..
The next acquisition will be Rolls Royce
I'm hoping no further acquisitions for few more years, unless some bargains crop up in a market meltdown.... Think they paid too much for gkn, wonder what they'll eventually make on it. Share price still in the doldrums
Quite an eventful few days!

I suggest you watch the webcast, the guys couldn't have been more upbeat and confident about the aero business.
It has certainly lit the blue touch paper.
