Or gone out to buy more to drown my sorrows, therefore helping Marston's profits a little, which helps maintain dividends.
So there's always a sunny side :-)
Good job it was the ladies game, if it had been 3-3 in the PL you might've lost your thirst entirely.....
2 have survived mate.
Trent
Has the hobgoblin stayed in the fridge after the 3-3 draw today ?
Just checking.....
And of course, Man City have had a result against Leicester, and I've got a few Hobgoblin Gold chilling in my fridge for my usual Sunday afternoon tipple, so all is well.
It's not a problem.
At least we all know now that there is not too much to be concerned about, and that's all that matters.
Trent
Understand where you are coming from, you are correct, I hadn't thought about that.
Apologies
Well, I'd disagree with you there slightly Barchid.
It's always worth finding out if he has got something that is detrimental to the company or not which could effect us as shareholders or not. As it turns out, I don't think he has, and that's always good to know.
As far as the time goes to look into all of this, I'm possibly better placed than most on here to be fair. Myself & wife are carers to a disabled child so I don't work, as I support my wife with our boy's care, so once he has gone to school, we have a fair bit of free time until they come back home again, so looking into this gave me something useful to do, and it didn't really take too long, but the end result was having information worth having.
Precisely !
A waste of time for us all, but you have to pay the money to find out, in this case the money was wasted time .
Re: PAS.
I'm not actually sure he's got anything out of us to be fair. Given what he had to say to me, I got the impression that he was fishing for something. Still. No real harm done. I don't think he got anything new or useable out of us.
I had just hoped he'd have put something on here in response to our findings. I was expecting some kind of defence from him, but there's been absolutely nothing.
This suggests to me that he has nothing for the company or us shareholders to be overly concerned about.
@ Barchid
Yes, it's the same where live in Stockport. The nearest one is roughly 3 & a bit miles away. Oddly, the only one we generally go to is in Stourbridge in the West Midlands called The Glassworks when we visit friends that live in the area. It's a lovely pub too. Great beer & food. It's got the best children's play area for our children I've ever seen in a pub. Cracking little boozer it is. It does seem to do very well at the weekend too. It's always packed when we've been in, which is always nice to see.
Trent
I was thinking just the same re (s)pas, looks like we were rather used doesn't it ?
WRT the floods, other side of the coin is how many of their properties suffered that could be well renovated much less expensively than usual with some of the cash coming in from insurance claims ? A longer term picture than next results though, of course, but possibly something in the medium term, plus business interruption policy paying out as well, hopefully ?
I don't have many Mars properties where I live (London) but some I have seen in the Midlands , South West and Wales were very variable, some really nice but others begging for an upgrade. It is always best, imo, in having a certain level which you come to expect across a chain to encourage repeat visits.
I think it's rather odd that this fella has remained silent on the comments left on here by myself, Barchid, LordAdam and of course Fairdealer. I did expect some kind of public response on here relating to our findings & observations, but there's been absolutely nothing.
I've taken the stance from this that I share Fairdealer's point that he is possibly stirring the pot to serve some kind of agenda.
Perhaps some kind of comment from Chris to clarify his position might be helpful.
On a different note, I think this carp weather is going to have some negative impact on proceedings come the next set of results. No one being able to get to the pub in flooded areas blah blah blah.
Lets hope those effected get back on track asap with minimal disruption though.
