Anne Flower, some relation of Martin Flower the Chairman as bought 50k shares at 62p. Always a good sign
Yes I have L2 access. It's all looking good to me. The large buyer spent Thursday on a bad day on FTSE absorbing all the volume. Today he's getting nothing. Two sells totalling 21k which he probably didn't get as they just go to balance out all the buy volume. So, he has a decision to make now. Is he prepared to pay more than 60? as the price is starting to drift away from him. Buyers seem happy to pay 61.6 ish. Investors Chronicle have a buy rating on this today so those reading the paper copy over the weekend may well buy a few Monday morning which is going to make the price drift further away from 60. Looking at the chart 90 seems a decent place to exit all other things being equal so that a 45% upside with seemingly little downside risk. OK, the buyer at 60 might get filled if the FTSE continues to fall but it's already fallen 300 and will want to turn soon. Even if it does fall I think there will be people buying the dip and 53 seems obvious support anyway. A trade I'm very happy to hold. Trying to figure out where to exit. Sell half at 90? I'm not sure.
CC2015 you must have level 2 access? 382K and 1 Million buys were the 2 largest buys today showing on most platforms.
10:45 60.00p 637,966 382,780 Buy
Even more interesting is the 250k buy at 60 which was unfilled in the closing auction. Looks like someone is mopping up everything they can get at 60p and who can blame them
09:48 61.00p 1,703,733 1,039,277 Buy
NUMBER 1 RISER FOR A CHANGE
Deserved rise IMO, didn't quite get the 60p I wanted but I'm out this morning with a healthy profit. GLA to those still holding.
I suppose the market will tell us soon enough what it thinks of the final results. I do note though that neither Pete nor Phil have a single penny of their own money in the game yet. Worth the watching to see what they do !!!! D.
Final dividend maintained 2p Ex-Dividend March EPS 6.4p
I cast no aspersions on the company or the board indeed I'm very positive that lwb will provide a decent bounty for pi's. I just don't trust this market. I have ring fenced the funds to buy back in here ASAP regardless of the share price being higher or lower than today. Rightly or wrongly I expect this to be taken over by the Chinese. Their top man is going. Their Chinese factory is up and running suppling their home industries. They've started to sell off non core euro businesses " at a loss I may add " I just see these as signs that the company is setting up for something different. D. My opinion only obviously!
A P/E of EIGHT and a book price of 62p not enough for this blasted market. We'll find out what Mr Simpson has been up to no doubt and what his legacy/skeletons will be........
I'm out this morning Mulder, on reading all the trading updates reported over this last year I couldn't convince myself that tomorrow's figure's are going to be anything better than ordinary. Me being out is probably good news for anyone still holding l have been known to get this kind of decision wrong ! Was in at 52p so at least it was out with a small profit. Good luck to all tomorrow. D.
Afraid the rogue market has reared its ugly head again today. A very poor finish and some large sells - insiders no doubt getting wind of some bad news re: tomorrow. Would love to be proved wrong.
Admire your confidence jb, chuffed as I'd be if your expectations are right, experience tells me to hold back a bit just in case. D.
This will hit 60p on Wednesday no doubt in my mind.
I just hope the market plays fair and logically on Weds. I suspect growth expectations will be lowered but as the P/E is already only 8-9 this should not be a reason for the market to punish LWB further. A drop from 90p to 50p was enough!!!
I note from the half yearly trading update that the company will report a non recurring approx 10 million loss upon completion of the disposal of the Belgian business. 5 million from the same disposal to be used to pay down debt. The last this was mentioned was July. Something to think about !!! D.
Hoping for a final dividend in March of 2.2p
These will be key especially forward guidance. What sort of legacy will Simpson leave behind and why exactly did he leave? He has been very quiet.
Thought we were in recovery mode there for a day or two but alas it seems to have stalled. Just a case of waiting to see if we move forward or back from here. I know which one I want !!!! D.
On 5th Jan Peel Hunt today reaffirms its buy investment rating on Low & Bonar PLC (LON:LWB) and set its price target at 80p.
Nice 500k buy today hopefully the volume starts to ramp up in preparation for the 31st
SP back at 53 to buy again with volume starting to wind up. It seems to be the whole market fighting one seller but the seller certainly has alot to shift
