It soon the UK wants it's own satellite as it has be blown out of Galileo! Lads, I've some odd bits of mechano knocking about and you're welcome to that! Will it be propelled by coiled spring and have a wind-up handle? Mind, if you could compress all that hot air from brexiteers....
FFS, UK is debating 57 different forms of CU!!! Lads...
UK growth hits 5 year low! Thanks brexiteers for making us all poorer!
Are you the FROG from the III Lloyds bill Board by any chance ;-)
Alternatively, you can lift you hand with a pint of your best UK independence cask ale and drown your sorrows as brexit just ain't going to happen! LOL
Maybot backs Customs Union extension to 2023!!! Brexiteers, lift you hand and wave goodbye to brexit. ..! LOL
That has become an annual pilgrimage, that RG event. Much revered the same man is! Some years ago I saw ALTAN in BS also. ALTAN - 10 Thousand Miles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMclD6IMy50 Rory Gallagher - I fall apart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjxhwNrhIgA
Quizzer, hope you have a terrific time. Ballyshannon home of the first Hydropower station in Ireland and supplies the North also.I believe you have hit on one, if LLoyds supplied (pun) Guinness vouchers we all would be happier. Enjoy.
Hopefully there isn't a border-off to the rory gallagher tribute weekend in Ballyshannon Donegal next Thursday and we go into the north on a coach on the way.Fortunately my divi is providing some Guinness vouchers for the experience.
Eh?
There is no Border in Ireland.
Jayfax are you argueing CAP is a remotely good policy?? The cost of CAP in enormous plus the inability of the uk to access world food prices makes food considerably more expensive too. That is an example of protecting inefficient producers at the expense of consumers. Many consumers are poor too. See New Zealand they got rid of costly subsides 20 years ago and their agri industry became hugely more efficient.
So Jayfax you are against free trade now and the crime thing is another red herring why is it ok to have an open border with eastern Europe and middle East and not with the UK?? Are you a 5th columner you seem more interested in protecting french farmers than anything else and Minford is not a nutter, he is a professor of economics, his models have been amongst the most accurate since brexit. Plus he went against the consensus on the 1981 budget when 364 economists claimed tiyally incorrectly the budget had no basis in economic theory. That budget was a great success just like brexit will be. Minford was right in 81 when his esteemed colleagues got it completely wrong, he is right now
Jayfax, if we adopted a unilateral free trade policy we would have no tariffs the only necessity would in that case be for the EU to erect a border to protect its CU, the main purpose of which is protecting French farmers and German car makers.
22bn required!!! Deep pockets brexiteers...! LOL
Jayfax currently we have no control from our borders within the EU under FOM nor is the EU secured it's borders, see Syria/North Africa. Ergo no one has control over their borders anyway. I don't see how control of money and security are relevant points. We contribute to EU net and are their best source of intelligence in the EU and btw we cooperate hugely with US on security as well, in many areas more closely than with the EU.
Uk needs to propose solution to NI border, period!
The Irish border is their issue not ours. They want to defend the integrity of their CU. Well fine they can erect a border then just like they have (not) around eastern Europe and Turkey. The Irish border is being used as a red herring to keep us in. We should simply join NAFTA and leave them to it.
Snige we do currently trade with the world. If this max fac solution costs 20bn surely we revert to wto rules and stop this nonsense of a negotiation and tell the EU that since it is their customs union they need to build a wall around NI. We don't need to fork out 20bn to defend the integrity of their customs union. Btw the EU borders are porous in any case so the integrity of the customs union is pretty questionable. The borders between turkey who are in CU and many parts of ME are porous and good find their way in with no customs checks. Not sure why the EU isn't seeing this as a problem but NI border is??
Ladies/Gents DCB added i think a very critical post yesterday ref Brexit. HMRC have 1100 people working on this customs issue and have concluded the Max Fac solution would cost approx 20 billion per YEAR.Ok you could say its a conspiracy but i'm inclined to think the Revenue are pretty au fait with figures. James the Brexiteers won the referendum on misinformation,it was flying around everywhere on BOTH sides because we didn't have the complete picture then. Prehaps HMRC should have had a blue battle bus telling us that customs would cost the NHS 384m a week.lol https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-eu-customs/brexit-customs-paperwork-to-cost-firms-up-to-20-billion-pounds-a-year-tax-official-says-idUSKCN1IO2NM
and you are a waste of space
Brexit plane for borris! The man is a space cadet! Brexit flying well lads...? LOL
DCBJF ''Technology based customs control system would cost 20bn!!!'' Never realised a tracker installed in lorries would cost so much
Don't think the leavers thought this one out. Why not just stay in and do a Hungarian or an Italian. We Brits always take the rules too seriously, everyone else has only been taking them as guidance.
