Perhaps someone could explain why the strategy of increasing shareholder value by buying back shares (as opposed to actually providing a decent dividend) aligns with the intent to create 3,250,000 new shares (RNS 5th Nov) to be allocated to the internal share save scheme?
If I can sum up the enthusiasm will listen to the
results conference call tomorrow.
A main driver of valuation here is Screwfix and as a
stand alone business that may be worth the best part
of £2.5-3 bn.
There is also arguably the outside possibility of a bid,
but that is highly speculative conjecture on my part.
Indeed.
I would post more on LSE but there is no Edit function,
and with dyslexia that is a complete pain.

I mentioned over on.. the other place,
that it maybe a hangover from The One Kingfisher Years under
the last CEO.
Yeah, I did read the article too.
In the same vain it could be said that this is as good as it's going to get for Dunelm. And yet...
Comment in the FT from a retail analyst saying..
there was a feeling this is about as good as it gets for Kingfisher
and margins may come under pressure in 2022.
Only one person's view remember.
The lack of a special dividend has hit the SP quite hard. There has been some discussion elsewhere about the sustainability of growth post Covid but that issue didn't hold back the likes of Dunelm, which shot up 10% on results day.
Dunelm did announce a special dividend following a covid boost. It's disappointing that KGF went down the share buyback route.
It was 126p in March 2020. Almost doubled. 209p in December 2018. 260p in December 2020. Was it heavily overpriced in the recent past and now correcting? Would it touch 200Ps?
Bargains to be had at B&Q as stock that was stranded on the Ever Given finally hits the floor of B&Q stores.
Unfortunately summer lines such as garden furniture and bbqs need to be shifted and fast before Xmas stock starts arriving.
Would Kingfisher be able to claim compensation or do they have insurance in place for such events?
Let’s hope so because the discounts are so deep the stock must be selling at a loss
Sold out here now after a very nice 54% profit over the last 12 months. Momentum seems to have reduced now.
Div payed on Freetrade already.
oops, i should have gone to specsavers
2 divis total8.25p
2 divs
divi 2,75--- drop 10p, crazy world
Hi
Can you please tell me the two cancelled "x dividend dates" for kgf for 2020 and their exact dividend amounts in pence that cannot be found from the historic xdivi section of any share site, I am assuming kgf did pay out at least one divi in 2020 then reclaimed it after cancellation when the sharedealing brokers clawed it back after it was paid and also the date cancelled from the archives like another ftse 100 share I follow
Thanks!
yes, totally agree. All the Best. . . .
Sheltie: Thanks for the clarification and yes I was referring to a Special Dividend latter, say maybe in October. Especially since we missed out on dividends last year. It would be a nice gesture to shareholders perhaps in the same way that they refunded the government on the COVID grant.
Jaffjoon
I'm not personally expecting a Special but if they did, then it would be more aligned to a percentage of retained 'cash at bank' rather than a percentage of profit. Personally, I think it's still a bit too early for payment of a Special Dividend (or any other Dividend come that!). Maybe in six months time though. . . .
Good results. I am now wondering if KGF will be paying a special dividend. Is their dividend related to a % of their annual profits ? Anyone know ?
Thanks Jaffjoon
I fully expected to be good. But these numbers, pretty much across all territories, are exceptional. Factored in? We'll soon see. Either way (as you know how fabulous results can sometimes be reflected in downward share movement on the day; which is always baffling!!) I am very happy to remain invested here. Excellent Job KGF.
Congratulations! My target price is £4.65p - so a way to go yet; but happy to wait, as get there this will. . . ATB
reached my target of 330p and more , nice
I think this has plenty of legs left yet. Still a big risk to start booking loads of summer holidays so expect another summer staycation in Blighty. Still lots of work to do around the house and now the gardens will be taking priority as it warms up and we can spend time outside.
Records will be broken in 2021 that’s for sure
