Alas andro,
Ever the optomist.
Nice tick up today, hope some added, imv the shorters will defend there 134p shorts, 3 still open
At that, that looks a tough nut to pass, hopefully they leave happy.
Alessandro, JD has shops all over Spain and Portugal , plus Germany and Scotland - although I don't think the quarters are an issue there!
Re the Euros .. I'd wait to see if England qualifies for the quarters
Bought another £5k as the price is a bargain given the way sales will be lifted by the euros.
I think the SP is being held back by concerns over the US adventure. Is this management board up to it and is its strategy the right one?
Only time will tell but until confidence is locked in, the trading range won’t change.

Take weakness as a buy time, some of these euro matches are raft with footy shirts, hope they bought of us, look at Germany Spain Albania Holland, then these big screen venues raft with shirts, always said August updates pivotal to way forward.
There's still usa shorts opened Monday 17th,they viewing hibbetts integration as a setback, pffft.

Profits have trebled since 2021 but the share price is 30%+ down from that period, this share is being held back by the terrible retail sales data rather than what JD are doing. Surely it’s due a big jump is due in half 2, bloody hope so I’m invested here.
Ex dividend date is unimportant considering the size of the dividend.
JD is probing the patientlce of its investors, the share price is nonsensical, just as much as broker ratings: one year ago some brokers were predicting 300p now 150-180p. Some investors hoped to see £1.5B PBT for this year, with the euros and the store openings. The £1.5B target is a mirage now.
Ex-Dividend: 13/06/2024. Good time to buy with the euros and the Olympics coming up.
Good morning everyone, is there anyone on this board that could copy and paste and informational charts on JD Sports?
A guy over on the Ocado board called Boyobach can do them ,and makes fine viewing into its historical past and maybe give some insight either way to its forwards direction.
Thanks

Why is the share price so low?
Would expect this to hit 130 before the week is out. Euros starting this week, was in a few JD shops over the weekend and they were heaving with customers picking up football gear.
Have to come out ref this one quickly,hoss13,any one can predict up and down at the same time!what I like to see and poss most of the board on here,jd is 1.25 want to know its first movement up or down and price
Interesting predictions. I sold most of my holding my 135s, If we are guessing I reckon it’ll hit 120 then bounce from there. It’s inbetween range at the moment with next resistance around 120. I’m buying big if/when it hits that. If it doesn’t I’ll leave my money out of it and wait for another opportunity. Key is to nail your entry point. Good luck everyone
New investor….as the patterns have shown, don’t be surprised if it hits 130’s again next week. Lucan is predicting nothing other than previous patterns, these patterns ever so slowly on the up trend. If it goes sub 120 again….sell everything you have & stick it on JD 😉

another who does not do his home work, detention 100 lines I must do my home work, nvidia shares,i said recently top 2 lines post on here,i only do jd not interested in nothing but jd.
as for predicting jd ups and I get nearly all correct, you try, besides I get prices correct or near, and some tricky prediction correct, like recent 3rd June jd was 1.38,i said best price you get for now, its going down to 1.30 and less.bingo what happens 4th June gos down,5th June hits 1.30 and 1.26.35 by last bell at 4.30pm
Ha! Very good, bruce, although I'm concerned that your point of order amused me far more than perhaps it should've ;o)
But, more importantly...of is NOT a verb!!
Lucan, predicting JD is going to go up & down up & down is not rocket science.
Tell us where NVIDIA goes until the end of June 👀

Lululemon up 10% because of growing sales is maybe providing a catalyst here.
Just the usual up and down due to Hibbett's Q1 results being a bit weak.
Tawse57 If I got a penny every time I heard that I would be retired by now (and I am not that old).
Putting my cynical hat on... the big boys want to buy in and want a cheaper price.
Why the 4% drop today !!!

"Does Newcastle United Football Club have some visibility in Europe?"
Not in season 24/25 they don't, missed out on European competition when Manchester United won the FA Cup.
I lived in Newcastle for 7 years, their fan base is ever so concentrated in the North East, I imagine this is a long term deal though in the hope they grow globally. New deal with adidas just gone live 1st June, & without Sports Direct selling anything NUFC (even though a self respecting Geordie would never buy there) there should be a strong summer of Newcastle adidas merch sales, however only really focused around the NE for now.
We’re joining forces with Newcastle United Football Club as their Official Sports Retail Partner.
Does Newcastle United Football Club have some visibility in Europe? I do not follow football at all, so I wouldn't know.

So much for the shorts threatening to push it down to £1.16 Monopolyman
I made a quick £1000 profit this morning after buying £20k at around £1.276p
Now that I'm fully sold out, I shall wait for the next drop if any are yet to come according to your statistics forecasts Have a good1😅
Monopolyman
I was correct my prediction was right Friday the sp is where I expected it should of been all along, cost me bit loss of earnings, and lot wasted time.as for that non believer Friday who could not wait to have a pop at me at 8.28am once the stock had crashed.take a good long look at that stock price.
you might be x statistician with all those figures thrown around trying to make your self look good, save your self a headache, and just follow me.
must admit over weekend could not hit any thing, next time perhaps I can hit bullseye
off now take that hungry gutted black lab of mine for run, and feed pheasants for upcoming shoot!
Strange that the sp is jumping today after the fall down to 116 on Friday.
Nice. One of the gentry too ?
Mary

Thanks regarding the dividends, so on my 16,795 shares (currently worth over £20,000) I’ll get £100.77 quid in dividends.
That won’t even buy me an Indian takeaway haha!
Someone was asking about dividends a couple of days ago, so in case anyone's missed the details:
Announced as 0.6p, giving FY total of 0.9p (0.8p for FY23). Final div is slightly down on last year's 0.67p after interim was higher, FY total in line with guidance split.
XD is 13 June, payment is due 12 July. Yield on the final is only 0.5% @120p so don't imagine the market will take much notice.

I did suggest early on here on my post buy sub 120 which I did they went down to 116 bought some batches and for grandchildren, hope you done same, markets overcooked the price as you say,i feel comfortable at these prices sub 120,my grandchildren be disappointed at no gains.
but will come back for sure, as warmer weather and euros get under way, intrest rate cut, and better reading figure wise for august, and lots of stores opening as we speak, down to you when to take profit if your still in jd,but don't give up on them
Totally agree, which is why I joined in at 122p today. Looks to me, as usual that the market has overreacted today.
If I'm not mistaken we saw a similar drop on the day of results in march. It ended up the day up ten per cent. I think this is a strong buy at the 120 mark.
ShearClass - this is the kind of posts that I like. Thanks.
£600m wiped off the market cap on £10m volume, you have to laugh.
As for ex growth, this is a business that generated £1.65b in operating free cash flow last year, they are using a chunk of this to aggressively expand via M&A. The in market forecasts will be upgraded materially once the two pending material transactions complete;
"Hibbett generated net sales of $1,728.9 million, EBITDA of $186.0 million and Profit before Tax of $131.6 million. Gross assets on the balance sheet at 3 February 2024 were $909.2 million."
"For the 52 week period ended 31 December 2022, Courir had consolidated revenues of €609.8 million which included €100.3 million from the combination of the sale of product on a commission basis to the affiliates and other commission income from franchisees, a profit before interest and tax of €47.4 million and gross assets of €678.4 million."
By my calculations that's an incremental £140m in PBT to add to the pot, worth ~2p to EPS.
So proforma EPS is currently ~14.1p, leaving shares trading on a P/E of 8.5x
A rating of 12-15x would see shares re-rate to 170-200p

10% fall on RNS today .
Another I share with MaryBr190 who posted she did top at 117p.
Shes much better at it then me .
Similar style , and not as many different shares as I have accumulated .
This from corry below .
It has been mistake so far investing in AIM for me.
Gambling here maybe be better .
And this is FTSE100, not AIM, so you can't ramp this as the IIs are in control. The SP is not responding to what teenagers want, it's responding to market dynamics and macro events, including the $ FX and the Red Sea situation.
Set target top up on 4th at *116p .
Got that today 9.30am .
RIP Leslie died 6.30am on 6th .
Sliced half holding in Next that Thursday at target high .
Interesting to see if these were good choices in the future .
This news that day.
4 Jan 2024
Thomson Reuters
FTSE 100 rebounds as Next outweighs slump in JD Sports.
Anyone on here with teenage kids will know they want the trendiest and best sports brand whatever the cost
JD is the go to place, has been for years and still is
"Nike will struggle. If Nike struggle so will JD."
Nike will bounce back...they know what they want to do , and will execute on that IMO .... ie cut some ranges, reduce some supply , bring in innovation

ALL my gains GONE…was doing ok after the recent rise 🙈🙈
Let’s see where this ends in a few months 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Dropping like a stone. What am I missing? The results were in line with expectations as stated earlier in the week weren’t they?
The drop of 7 per cent was probably a bit of an over reaction. Big summer ahead for sportswear with the euros and the Olympics. This is a solid medium term investment at the current drop.
'Unaudited' results likely spooked the market.
Even after ALL this time I still get surprised by drops of relatively decent results🙄🙄🙄

I was thinking of selling half my holding yesterday to buy back today. The problem is there are always shorter for every stock which had a good day. This happens regardless of the results. Only difference once it start downwards, others jump in. It already marked down 3% before the stat of the day.

Drop way over done bought another £4k.
I think the results were better than feared and outlook similar - sp will creep up around 5p today imv.
I can see jd hitting 145 today, we know they said guidance met, my feeling is bit better and couple things they kept behind andthey always gloss over, they will mention bad weather, but also euros,jd also tied with in with Roma, plus lots stuff also going on
besides me buy/sell,ive always said jd will be 2.00 plus within 12 months maybe 2.50 plus
I note some one said a lot sitting on fence, and also note no prediction from him
any way see you at the dance
To young man said can not do sums, yes sold jd 3 days ago which were most day 128/130,tried get back straight away, they moved down but not quite enough, note I had 3 days to do this, thurs went from 125/ to 134,watched screen most day jd looked good's bought back.my ac looks good no complaints.
example I had some jd 127 so bought and sold until avg out 122,this is buying and selling very often small margins, similar to my sports betting where I cash in and out all the time
any way I see you at the party singing and dancing

Q1 Trading very weak in the UK, but that isn't all that surprising given the state of the economy.
Guidance reaffirmed (I had hoped the lower end would have increased).
1bln of cash on the balance sheet.
Modest dividend increase.
Something for both bulls & bears in the update, feels quite neutral to me.
