Hi all, do we have any chemists on the board that could advise on the following please.
Was doing a bit of searching yesterday and came up with the following.
INEOS are world’s largest producer of acrylonitrile
Is a derivative of the Itaconix product a green substitute for this?
https://www.ineos.com/businesses/ineos-nitriles/news/nouryon-and-ineos-nitriles-break-ground-on-new-facilities-in-germany/
INEOS Nitriles is the world’s largest producer of acrylonitrile, a vital raw material for products used in the automotive, home appliance, garment, carbon fibre and water purification sectors. The agreement is similar to an existing partnership between INEOS and Nouryon at their adjacent facilities in Lima, Ohio, United States.

The comonomers that may then be utilized include any vinyl type monomer that would be suitable for copolymerization, including, but not limited to acrylate monomers (such as methyl methacrylate, methyl acrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, polyethyleneoxidediacrylate), vinyl acetate, vinyl halides, styrene, acrylamides, olefin monomers (e.g. ethylene or propylene) and acrylonitrile. In addition, the comonomers may include vinyl type anhydride monomers, such as maleic acid anhydride, itaconic acid anhydride as well as other acidic functionalized monomers, such as citraconic acid or measaconic acid (however, as noted herein, the levels of these latter monomers may require selected control of the concentration in the polymerization medium). Comonomers may also extend to water soluble type monomers, such as vinyl alcohol or vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol mixtures.

Detention! Detention! Detention! Lol
sorry "INEOS"
Do not want to get a detention for bad spelling lol

Thanks, it would appear that our tie in with Nouryon encompasses many of their new products, as they remove the hydrocarbon components and substitute these with green ITX ingredients, this is right across the board in home care, personal care, paints, industrial dispersants, etc, etc, etc.
It is good that we uncover these links, but the thing that moves the markets is confirmation of our investigations via RNS, lots to look forward to in the coming weeks, months. Still think that we will get taken out at some point (hopefully once we have broken the 50p level), the earlier tie in with INEO, is this a possibility?

Another great find AJP, it's fun playing detective.
This holds more promise then the link with Unilever IMO.
The timing of the ITX announcement and the estimated completion date of the manufacturing plants coupled with the impact of covid on european formulator's would point to a compelling argument.

Not sure if this is of any relevance, but there appears to be a link with ITX/Nouryon and INEOS, wit a new plant due to be completed 2021/2022
Nouryon and INEOS Nitriles have broken ground on new facilities to be built at INEOS’ Köln site in Germany. The units will produce raw materials for Nouryon’s high-quality, readily biodegradable chelates, used in detergents and other industries. The plants are due to be completed in 2021-2022.
Demand for chelates has increased strongly following the European ban on phosphates in consumer automatic dishwasher detergents. Chelates are more sustainable than the phosphates they replace. INEOS will operate and maintain the new facilities as well as provide key raw materials.

https://ilbioeconomista.com/2019/01/17/nouryon-and-itaconix-join-forces-in-the-bio-based-polymers-sector/
“We are excited to expand the bio-based solutions we deliver to our customers by adding Itaconix’s proprietary polymers to our industry-leading product offerings in detergents”, Peter Kuijpers, General Manager Chelates and Micronutrients at Nouryon, said. “These polymers will generate new opportunities for our customers in key detergent applications, enabling greener formulations without compromises on technical performance”.

Oh my dear boy one must try not to be offended by those that lay beneath thee.
I merely pointed to a collaboration between Croda and ITX and one between Croda and Unilever.
Interesting that you feel the need to belittle a complete stranger to appear intelligent, outstanding.
Little of the English Language FG wot one should have learnt in the Junior Skool I wood of thought. Just saying..............but a little depressing that even on this BB "should of" has replaced "should have": I always feel that sloppy English hides some sloppy calculations which could of misled (sic).
Ecover is no longer a Belgium company - they are owned by SC Johnson & Son, an American company (also own Method). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._C._Johnson_%26_Son Bought out in 2017.
I think my guess that its Ecover is still valid - they are a Belgian company.
Fair point, i suppose it depends how literal you take the statement.
Unilever is a British company and they have a Unilever.co.uk home page for their UK and Ireland business alongside their Unilever.com global business.
It could be possible that the deal made only covers a product intended for the european market?
I agree though you would of thought they would of said global but then that would not of emphasised the importance of breaking into the european cleaning market which is what was the exciting bit about the announcement...... but what do i know.
Food for thought i guess
If it was Unilever wouldn’t the announcement have been a new ‘global’ customer rather than ‘European’?
You could be on to something there.

Noticed that in May this year Croda joined the Polymers in Liquid Formulations (PLFs) task force, a task force set up with other big players including Crown Paints and Unilever to make more sustainable Polymers.
I know Croda are one of our Industry partners and feel this is more of an indication that the european customer recently announced was probably Unilever.... Thoughts
