Little update my next week predictions after today's buyback with 2 million shares..
I think that is very possible that next week we are over 80 pence level.
As I can see Qube closed short position.
Was it a wake-up call and escape when it turned out that the buyback was back in the game? Or maybe he just bought as many shares as he intended?
Doesn't matter. I think that Tuesday will be very interesting as same as all next week.
Carrington
It should be clear to everyone that we are talking about reported short positions exceeding 0.5%. Likewise, the current reported state of short positions of 1.2% is different from the actual one, because it does not take into account the positions of small players.
From my perspective, Qube disappeared from the list of large short positions in ITV shares and this happened after several attempts to reopen these positions. The conclusion is obvious - either they bought as many shares as they intended if they while playing on ITV shares, or they were afraid of the return of buyback, which has aggressively purchased over 2 million shares each over the last two sessions. In the second case, maintaining such a tendency to buyback very quickly dries up the ITV stock market (where it accounts for 20-30% of the share turnover during the session) and is a bucket of cold water for all those playing shorts and aware of the cash reserves of the party purchasing the company's shares.
In addition, there is the issue of returning to the stock market in the form of reinvestment of at least part of the funds from the dividend paid by ITV. And here, assuming at least a minimum reinvestment of 10%, we are talking about an amount of approximately £13 million, i.e. additional demand for approximately 17 million shares (and only if the 10% of the dividend wants to return to the market). Additionally, let us remember about the probable return of funds from the unsuccessful sale of ITV shares to the stock market in anticipation of a deeper correction of the share price from the last month. So I'll say it again. I think that this week on the ITV share market will be interesting and definitely more interesting, due to Qube limiting shorts and the return of buyback. And breaking the 80p mark on ITV shares is becoming very likely.
For all those who know how to count, I suggest considering how the removal from the market in 2024 approximately of 250 million shares through buyback and investment by only one new big player on the ITV share's market, affected valuation of the share value. How will affect this valuation the next purchase of 200 million through buyback and similar purchase - securing in long positions of at least a minimum similar amount of ITV shares if it enters the FTSE100 index and actually exceeds £1, forcing portfolio funds to make such purchases? We all know that the permanent break of the 80p level on ITV shares should result in a quick move to the £1 price. And probably all market participants are aware of this, and certainly those currently taking a short position. So there are interesting and hot times ahead for ITV shares.
Pogo -"It should be clear to everyone that we are talking about reported short positions exceeding 0.5%. Likewise, the current reported state of short positions of 1.2% is different from the actual one, because it does not take into account the positions of small players." - the problem is they are not a small player though are they - only 0.1pct from being a reported holder and holding 28pct of the overall short is not a small player -

Not looking like I'm going to get my sub 0.70p buy in then......
Everyone seems a bit down in here today. 76 re visited when we were being promised 80 by the most intelligent of posters.
Some good news which will cheer you all up. I am out for a week. Meeting Russians in Yerevan. I have a large apartment in the centre and 4 Russian women coming to share it with me. My girlfriends birthday party.
You'd have a better time in Llandudno. Grab a Granny night at the Pavilion...Fishcake and chips at Wetherspoons.
This will be closer to 0.70 than 0.80 on your return.
Shhh. Don't poke the Pyongyang pontificator. He is thankfully silent.
Yerevan is cheaper than Wales. No visas needed from anyone. Can sit out on the street enjoying a meal without the local druggies introducing themselves.
Would be interested to know what your Russian associates think of their compatriots targeting and murdering Ukrainian civilians (latest manifestation being a Garden Centre in Kharkiv at the weekend) as they continue in their efforts to annex Ukraine.

Hmm.. Little under last week Friday's expectations, but I am happy. Knowledge and patience are a key of success.
Tom
Would be interested to know your take on this week and how it’s gone. Do you still see your 60p target or is this going to keep on increasing with bumps along the road?
Interest rate cuts rumours.
Hence those in early here may enjoy the dividends and SP rise. No advise. DYOR.
Yes I think we could be looking at a spell in the 80's now, 80p-90p on the cards this week.
Daily increases always cheer me up. However, this is just a record that will formally come true when the investment closes. For now, what matters to me is the trend, prospects and the level of the ITV share price that I have assumed. Whether we will reach the price range of £1.3-1.5 in a quarter or in half a year is no longer so important. If my predictions for next year come true, even a share valuation of £1.5 is still a very attractive price level with a future rate of return of 30 to 100%. So should we wait for £1.3 and then slowly start making profits? Every investor has their own system for investing, risk assessment or building an investment portfolio. I believe that a Joker in the deck is an opportunity that happens very rarely, so we have to use it as long as possible. So I probably won't part with ITV before the opportunity to take advantage of the takeover offer arises, which I predict will come and can be accepted by the largest shareholders and the company's board at around £3 per share. This means that the current ITV development strategy defined by the CEO must be fulfilled. The year 2025 will be even more interesting than the current one.
At the moment, all my long-term predictions that I have been talking about since the beginning of this year and which I have already mentioned many times before, both regarding the market environment and the financial situation of the company itself, are coming true. My patience, strategy of reinvestment or new investments aimed at increasing the involvement in ITV shares are also bringing measurable financial results. So all that remains is to wait, laughing at the stupidity of trolls trying to transfer their bitterness of defeat to everyone present here. From my own observations and experience regarding the behavior of the prices of various companies, I am only waiting for the confirmation of my predictions of a 15-20% dynamic increase in the price of ITV shares over several sessions, cutting off small speculators from investments and allowing the largest long-term players, who can count accurately and know exactly what profits are at stake in this game, to collect a large supply of shares.
Still talk of a takeover. Seems that has been going on nearly as long as talk of the second coming of you know who.
In this case, the takeover will be the market's real response to ITV's revival, its growing position on the market and the diversification of the portfolios of the largest players. It is also the expected way of exiting the investment by the current largest shareholders, interested in ITV's strong position and thus the possibility of receiving a fair return on invested capital. I suggest sometimes looking at this situation in terms of the company's financial situation and its market share, and the expectations of the main investors. And consider whether anyone will actually be able to block it, if the company's shareholders come to the conclusion that it is beneficial and necessary for its development. However, this is an eventuality that will only come into play when the valuation of the shares is able to satisfy the market. So let's wait for ITV to reach a level of around £1.8-2.3. Then all options from takeover to merger become most likely.
Pogo, 2 observations/comments.
1. Apart from the passage of time what is the basis of your predictions
2. Board has been reasonably respectful of each other over the last 3/4 days so why without any provocation do you refer to the stupidity of others?
Sorry 3rd one, and this is just me. I get really board when a poster goes on and on about nothing but what they have done and hope to do which normally has no bearing or interest for others. When such aspirations are based on facts, reasonable speculation or signposts then that’s different.
Please don’t be offended and I am not a troll.
Fortunately, time will tell us am I was right or not. And this board is a place for such a discussion, based on facts, knowledge and prediction of the future price of ITV shares. And it is certainly not a place for trolls filled with hatred for everyone, looking for the source of their frustration and failures in them. So let's wait at least until the end of this year.
Pogo
You have missed my points on so many levels and reinforced them with a wait and see by the end of the year, again based on nothing . If nothing else just try to be respectful to others, if someone offends or attacks you then that’s a different story. Until then , well, you choose.
Realistically the SP should be higher than it currently stands. Most people would probably agree with that I believe. Unfortunately, there's a complete useless clown masquerading as a CEO surrounded by dimwits who are comfortable with collecting an astronomical amount of money on our behalf. That's what is holding it back no matter what they try.
Showing that love island junk on both ITV1 and ITV2 at the same time won't help. It's almost like they said oh well we can't compete with the football we will just try and churn out a few wanna be celebs for the other reality crap we churn out. If that's the best they have I would have thought the current price is high.
That "love island junk" attracts viewers, which attracts advertisers, which generates profits, which credits dividends into your account twice a year! ;)
