Huge 1M buy @30.90p just popped up from 11:59 today. Best part of £309K nice....
Nigel can you give a quick summary? cheers
NigelHaemoglobin
well...I don't always get to buy at the "optimum level" ..I can assure you !! ... Sometimes I am just like you..needing the guy below me buying cheaper to lift me on their shoulders !!
..this shares game is like a big game of snakes and ladders played with money instead of dice and a board !!
All the best ...
Fair point, given that you are accumulating at the optimum level (unlike me). My ave will be around 37 tbc, not too bad as a medium to long term position.

The company pays a fee to all the brokers for administrating the transfer of new shares and taking the payments....
I wasn't due to get many placing shares at all and have bought far more at 30p in the open market...
Personally I would let the BOD use the money they have raised for now...get the rewards that that money has been targeted for ..and..if required ..raise at a higher price later on..far higher than 30p ..creating fewer new shares
I reckon that given the fact that we only get 1 for 6 ...they are hoping a lot of the "small" holders don't bother ..as the admin and cost makes it not worth while.....they just want the guys with bigger holdings to apply ...really
Agreed Chips, in fact we are well passed the deadline for submission of basic and excess entitlements which was 3.00 p.m. on 18 May 2021.
Have to say, rather sad that some PI's try to save a few pounds via buying from the exchange instead of supporting the company with real money! This is why the firm aim to replace us with Institutions and HNWI's, cannot say that I blame them to be honest.
Btw there were some clues in the Zoom roadshow...subliminal...
Just seen this https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/type-31-frigates-designated-as-the-inspiration-class/ confirmation that the five Type 31s will be built at Rosyth. Sooner or later the MOD must decide that Rosyth is at capacity and cannot deliver vessels in a timespan that meets its needs. Who wants to bet that they will be delivered late?
A lot of brokers have closed their notification on the placing shares ...so I would imagine that some private investors are now trying to get their 30p placing shares in the main market and fearing the price is going to go up ..and they miss their chance

Killik picking up a few more. The markets have been down recently, cryptocurrencies took an absolute plunge this week too.
This article throws some light on the visit to H&W of the Stena Europe. https://www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/news/19310266.stena-line-suspends-crossings-fishguard-rosslare/ It also raises the question of whether H&W is going to be used as the Home Port for emergency repairs of ships on that route.
market psychology, small traders watch the screen while HFs collect the shares
The Ballot to decide which MPs will get a chance of bringing forward a Bill that has any chance of getting passed was held today. Of note the MP who came top and whose Bill is likely to get at least to committee stage is member of the BEIS select committee. It will be interesting to see what Bill he will bring forward.
Still on the march, a long march though...always follow serious money (both in and out).
I’d really like to watch it again as I missed about half of it
I don’t understand why it has not been posted .... any thoughts ?
Stokey, morning well spotted a good appointment
I missed the investor presentation last week. Anyone know if it is going to be published or where I can get a link? I read before that it was published on YouTube and then subsequently removed. I searched again and only found the older stuff. Seems odd.
Strange it hasn't been uploaded again?
You could argue it disadvantages the people who didn't get to watch it?
Chrisatrdg In relation to your 08.50 post going by this bio https://www.harland-wolff.com/news/harland-wolff-appoints-general-manager-of-newly-acquired-arnish-site/ he must have some interesting contacts he could tap for work.
This video from yesterday is worth a watch

Be nice to think they may get at least one MOD ship contract. For anyone that watched the presentation there was mention that 17 representatives from the MOD were at Harland and wolff the week prior - make of that what you will...
A reminder of what its all about:

mcadder In relation to your 04.54 post the Fleet Solid Support Vessel tender is in danger of developing into a farce. Realistically it is a two horse race. The difficulty that the British consortium has is some of the firms do not have a good record when it comes to delivering contracts on time and within budget. The MOD might therefore look to Team Resolute to minimise the risk of late delivery or costs going over budget.
Spring is nearly over so they are running out of time for a spring launch.
Campaigners urge Government to give £1.5bn supply ships deal to British workers
EXCLUSIVE: Ministers have vowed to relaunch the competition for the Fleet Solid Support vessels this spring
BY BEN GLAZE
21:00, 19 MAY 2021
Campaigners tonight piled pressure on ministers to hand a £1.5billion contract for three warships to a British consortium.
Industry insiders believe Defence Secretary Ben Wallace is poised to relaunch a tender for a trio of Fleet Solid Support vessels.
He previously said firms would be invited to apply for the bumper contract this spring.
The competition is set to become a tussle between a UK group of companies backed by the Keep Britain Afloat campaign – which includes Bab****, BAE Systems, Cammell Laird and Rolls-Royce – and Spanish rival Navantia.
It has teamed up with Belfast-based shipyard Harland & Wolff, which built the Titanic, to bid for the deal.
in October, Mr Wallace delighted campaigners by officially designating them as “warships” – meaning they can be built in Britain without allowing overseas firms to bid.
GMB union national officer Ross Murdoch said: "The restart of the procurement process is not just needed – it is long overdue.
“Ministers must end the delays that have dogged this programme because our yards are crying out for work.
“Ministers talk about supporting UK shipbuilding, but they are setting UK yards against each other.
“Despite the grand words about making the UK into a ‘shipbuilding superpower,’ there is still no requirement that the bulk of the work will be fulfilled domestically.
