As governements and central banks around the world start opening the taps and sloshing money around, with COVID being a very convenient excuse, I wonder what it might mean for Islandmagee funding.
Back in 2019, JW said he's willing to wait a little bit to see what potenatial opportunities the 2020 budget might bring. While it sounded very far-fetched at the time, the reality has changed and it the potential for getting a govt loan or even a grant are significantly higher.
On the other hand, given the ongoing liquidity crisis, it's less likely to me that the "funding partner" - assuming there really is one - will still be around ready to lend money come Summer.
I'm curious what others think.
Don't think we've ever had a clear indication of how long the decision process will take. If you belive what those that oppose the project says it could be months after the PC closes. Which is next Friday.
One would hope in the current circumstances that it would be expedited.
Very lazy of me sorry. I see announced yday. Do we know if that compromises the decision date? My purchase today shows as a sell. Stupid system in the 21st trading crntury
THE SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS
1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
3. With pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.
SPREAD THE WORD
CORONAVIRUS FOR GUIDANCE:
1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold.
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 Celsius. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric, it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasize enough - drink plenty of water!
It's been canceled.
I have added this morning. If the markets get closed due to the virus, I think very possible, any good news may eminate during that period. It would also be that the market cap is little more than H W value. Can anyone update on the last ML public consultation? Sorry if I have missed it. Will it go ahead?
There are a lot more places you could put your money. We are at rock bottom.
All it takes is one good RNS and peeps will all over this.
People are selling out, taking the loss, and anything with some prospect of ROI will be jumped on.
Come on JW, bring it on.
Topped up this AM. :)
ROI radio were discussing ways to handle the coronavirus, they said that they were discussing the possibility of using ships as a way to shoulder the upcoming stress on the healthcare system.
Don't think you'd get Warren buying this
Worth a cheeky bid with a placing? :D
The way Costain has been going this week or so they might need that money quicker than we do.
170p+ down to 40p as of yesterday. Ouch.
Personally I'm mildly confident in the success of h&w to keep cost neutral at the very least. And we look to have built a good team for its future revenue. In addition due to corona I'd be very surprised and dissapointed if we didn't get a cruise liner in for maintenance work soon. Re the ML, that's the tricky one and I have no idea which way it will go! So to summarise, I think we will be fine, just gotta ride out the storm
As Warren Buffet once said, “Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.” Right now there is an awful amount of fear going around. The current market cap is probably lower than the Assets acquired at H&W but that being said, without any significant orders an impairment of those asset values will be needed. If the Eu funds offset the Costain loan with a bit left over what other assets are there? I might sound fearful but without a confirmed order book and without a ML there is quite a lot to be read into Warren Buffet’s quote. I do believe a rather steady stream of small bits of news would be better that sitting in silence until hopefully a big bit of news comes along. `just putting it out there for discussion.
How about converting some of our 3.8 billion shares into paper certs and have them re-cycled into toilet rolls whilst there is such a large demand. Just an idea. ;)
FSRU news before or after Friday's deadline?
There may be some seeing possible bargains to be had elsewhere during this turmoil.
Maybe too good to miss for some. With hope of making a quick return whilst we wait for ... something.
?
I understand why we are seeing such red on 'our screens' but surely INFA's underlying value is far greater than todays SP.
It would be appreciated if we could get at least some positive news to reflect what is clearly a lot of activity by JW based on his tweets.Rant over.Currently I am now showing Hold.
My thoughts exactly Mr t. It's a scandal the sp can drop so much on so little sells (not all the 8 mill are sells either!). All this corona stuff is just an excuse to smash share prices across the board. As painful as these prices are I really hope nobody sells any stocks at this crazy time. They are false drops and people will lose a lot of money then watch the sp's go up again. All the best to everyone
Si
Indeed, you have wonder what the heck is going on here, volume 9.5M buys/sells equal, yet down 8% What!!!
In my opinion stock markets should now be suspended for a time until clarity is available, some of the stuff going on is shear greed and the city boys will be making a mint. I'm not specifically referring to Infa here but the whole market, it's quite ridiculous and idiotic in my opinion and needs halting. You can bet that the market will in time rerturn to normality and when it does the same suspects will be milking it!! and lining their trousers.
As for Infa, well it certainly should not be down here!! for goodness sake? just imagine what might occur should any negative news arrive any time shortly? doesn't bear thinking about does it.
Anyway's sit and suffer is the thing to do now, certainly do not sell, maybe pick a few more up for peanuts once it's completed it's fall? although anyone know when that might be!!! anyone??
Madness.
Mr T
At an all time low as it is, i believe. :(

Brilliant dawski37 !!!!!
With regard seeing 'Boris' at No 10 I know people including my son who been to No 10 & going to No 10 does not necessarily mean seeing the PM for the meeting. However In my sons case he & a team of people met with a minister & Cameron popped his head in at the end.
It is intriguing as to what the meeting at no10 was about
My take is jw and the team alongside the guy from royal Caribbean were tasked to put together proposals which Boris wanted to see personally in order to make a decision. If it was simple business it would have been the business minister and would not been a necessity to meet Boris at no10.
According to Aljazeera today a large cruise ship has docked in Genoa ready to be urgently converted into a floating isolation hospital ship....so the idea is viable and probably very practical ..Watch this space and forum very carefully as it develops in the next few days ..JW has probably done well to get his feet under the door !!
H&W if they can make panels for the storage they can make ventilators!
Priority at the moment is the virus ,Blair. Its win win ,cruise liners could be utilised and get an income from the government and H and W kept busy until the potential defence contracts materialise
