https://www.themanufacturer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/UK-Storage-Forecast.jpg .........sorry re below post this link should work
https://www.themanufacturer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/UK-Storage-Forecast9.jpg .......................................................... This old graph shows the difference in storage levels in just 4 years when we were able to rely on both long range and medium range facilities. The peak in gas storage levels back in Nov 2014 was almost 55,000 Gwh! Now we are currently at less than 1/10th at just below 4,000 Gwh. And this is the problem. The sheer lack of flexibility especially at times of peak demand means that storage levels are so low that there is no longer the physical security to fall back on. At that level on a really cold winter's day with no wind or sun current levels of storage would be depleted in just 2 to 3 days. A serious amount of gas injections would need to happen over the summer to get the levels back to 14,000 Gwh at the start of last winter. Even at this time of year there have been further heavy withdrawals from storage highlighting just how tight available gas supply is. As for Infa imo the project is right place, right time.
Your welcome Setanta - the FEED imo should really have been completed a few years ago but instead the project had languished almost to the point where we were facing a lights out situation! It's fair to assume that the old bod did not focus on getting this part completed when they may have had the money but instead spent it on other things. A lot of money wasted imo which will have made potential investor's for the project wary of getting on board and backing Infa. Hopefully as major investor's see the FEED is underway there should imo be renewed interest to get on board and take this to the actual construction phase.
Yes, sorry Naz, that's true. Tidal power will be a mere drop in the ocean but have you heard of fusion power, one for the future maybe? Gas will be around for another 50 years, as the planet continually generates new gas I'm told. And this was from an engineer involved in setting up the largest solar/pv farm in the world in Dubai.
You obviously didn't read spudtheplumber's post in response to your theory on wave power............... **********Thu 20:25 Price: 0.41 spudtheplumber 1,953 posts Tidal power Is a great idea Naz However could only supply 20% of current UK power demand http://www.tidalenergy.eu/tidal_energy_uk.html********** Disadvantages of wave power Current high cost of investment Because wave energy is still in the developmental stage, it is very costly to build wave devices.Maintenance and weather effects Equipment that is exposed to rugged oceanic conditions 24/7 can lead to damage to wave equipment and to corrosion from salty seawater, requiring maintenance. Marine life impacts Marine life may be harmed or displaced, or their habitats negatively impacted by the construction of wave energy devices. Reduced sea usage The physical presence of wave energy device “farms” could potentially reduce the size of shipping channels, as well as opportunities for recreation and fishing. Few implemented Thus far, only a few pilot wave energy projects have been constructed globally. Further research is necessary to determine the the lifespan of the equipment, the associated costs with running the devices, and the impacts of these machines on both human and marine life. Noise Constantly running wave energy devices can be much noisier than waves are naturally, and this could potentially be disruptive to both humans and sea life living near these devices. Slow technology improvements Wave energy has been developing since the 1700s, and yet it is still a nascent technology that needs to be more fully developed. This slow development is an impediment to investment in this type of renewable energy. Difficult to transmit wave energy It is currently very challenging to transport ocean wave-generated electricity long distances to where it will be consumed inland. Visual impacts For those people living near ocean shorelines, some types of wave energy devices can be unsightly and interfere with ocean views.
Belfast Lough, strangford lough, Carringford lough, foyle, and Larne lough Only five which could supply most of N. Ireland and could be built cheaply and last for years to come. Wave power would suit most of Ireland with so many laughs and seas. Also Scotland with so many waterways in the sea could supply the whole of the UK and Ireland via interconnectors. One nuclear plant cost could pay for the lot and would be a lot safer and give more security in supply for the UK. The small amount invested in infra will not meet the demands for gas as the gas industry has spread it self so far out and will never give security. Brexit will mean the UK must take action now to bring in wave power all over these islands.
mcadder thank you for that excellent and encouraging post. My Feed figure was including the EU grant money. As for the share options I hadn't remembered the phasing and the indication of Adrians salary is certainly news to me. But welcome news. I'm afraid I'm tainted by the sheer number of half truths and some outright lies set out by Adrian in his,( now removed), postings on this BB in the pre Requisition days. I also have concerns about why a major gas entity didn't put money into, or purchase, this company outright if it were such a likely winner. I am also hugely disappointed at the lack of communication and transparency . The CE report was never published although it was available and very important. One might easily be persuaded that the SP was being allowed to fall. I cannot understand why, if it were necessary to raise the Feed finance by a placing, that the action could not have been taken much sooner thus decreasing the dilution and progressing the construction at a faster rate. Those are some of my concerns. Thank you for your balanced post which has provided me with some additional information.
I'm with you on that one. Good story evolving here
Setanta - I'm glad you like the video, it's my understanding that there will not be much activity at the site or machinery there as I imagine most of the FEED phase will involve the examination of previously obtained core samples and seismic data - the core samples themselves which were obtained during the 2015 drill (the wellpad still in place as per the video). That drill alone cost around £3.8M! With over £11M having been invested in Infa to date we have a good headstart for the FEED. I think it's possible they may actually complete the FEED ahead of schedule and under budget? This figure of over £5M you quoted is news to me - where have you plucked this from? Although Infa can have access to an EU grant of up to £4M it doesn't mean they will be utilising all of it. I would imagine they would have to provide proof to the EU of all costs relating to the FEED as it progresses before parts of the grant are handed over. As for Adrian and the bod it's worth pointing out how corporate costs and salaries have been slashed substantially and imo they have done very well in this area. As Adrian said in his recent LSE interview they are now a lean, mean machine and I would imagine that his salary which I believe is around £75k must be one of the lowest salaries for a director of an AIM listed company. Just to give you a comparison the salaries of the whole bod is probably on par with that of Mr Hindle under the previous bod whose salary was somewhere around £200k!! As far as I am concerned nothing is missing here all will hopefully become clear on the detail of the FEED as it moves up another couple of gears. I remain very positive and bullish about the future for Infa I can certainly see further decent upward movement in the SP and continuing improvement in sentiment in the coming weeks and months! Regarding the share options - like Spud said these are not free and they have to pay for them at the 1p level once we reach it. If the right news materialises here don't be surprised to see a gap up in the SP to a penny or more and maybe sooner than some here believe :)
Almost all office/computer related with the odd site visit. And that's costing over 5M ? And where are the contractor loans? Something missing here. A little more transparency would be welcome. Like how much we are paying Costain and Deep for the work. It's all known to the BOD. They just need to tell us.
I'm not clutching at straws, I've grabbed hold of one of your points Also the options are in tranches depending on progress! Also a share option isn't free, they have to pay 1p for them so sp needs to be a lot higher to have any benefit
For the record a purely independent visit by myself and mcadder We were shown around by islandmagee storage community liason consultant Judith. Great to see the project on the ground, proximity to SNIP, Ballymumford power station, routes for brine pipeline etc etc..... Also very good to get historical info on project, 13 years in the making and at its most advanced stage! Judith is very passionate about the project (been involved from day 1) but equally important imo, she has the interests of islandmagee residents as her top priority.
You're clutching at straws. Adrian can tell us how much he took out . But, while I'm on, what about the 300,000 of share options the directors awarded themselves in February? To avail of that benefit the sp only has to reach 1p The last placing prospectus suggested it would reach 1.3p by July. I hope it does so that I can get some reward for my loyalty. Nice work!
Main point of the post? Maybe not but your quote "you HAVE earned" is now a guesstimate?
That tells us nothing spud and it says nothing about the fringe benefits , expenses etc.,Hardly the main point of the post. While I'm posting I'd like to raise the matter of the loans the contractors were mooted to provide to INFA. What became of those? And why were Adrians posts removed,d'you think?
Work for FEED is almost all office/computer based using data already acquired . Maybe the odd site visit to confirm certain practical details, it is from what I have understand a very technical crossing of the t's and dotting of the i's
From share options rns "As stated in the Chairman's statement in the Company's final results for the year ended 31 July 2017, announced on 30 January 2018, the Board aims to be one of the most cost-efficient for a company quoted on AIM and ongoing salary costs have been reduced by over 50 percent."
mcadder, good to see the video and thank you. Nice to see the site but disappointed not to see a single piece of machinery working there. Maybe I'm being too impatient! Could I ask who were the people present in your visit to the site yesterday? Just curious! And spud, of course the 250K is a guesstimate,( it could also be more), but I assure you that I'm well experienced in how directors pay themselves and spend company money. Maybe Adrian could provide us with the accurate data. By the way have you noticed that all his posting history on INFA has been removed from this bb?!
Morning all, feel free to take a look at a video we did yesterday during our visit to Islandmagee :) ............ https://youtu.be/WNLmZR45x-E
A few valid points maybe Setanta My old maths teacher always told me to show my workings out. Please explain how you get 250k
Just watching waves pass by and the chances to make money in generating electric being wasted. Did I see SS infra smoke on the waves causing pulution in the Larne Lough. 5 week heat wave and only one shower of rain in that time. Just waiting on rain so I can go to Spain and spend my money I have made on Shares.
Dear Adrian, you've been in place as a director of Infrastrata for almost a year now and you have raised 1.8M in three placings. That is 1M more than the previous board ,(which you so vehemently criticised), raised in it's final year of existence. You've earned at least 250K in salary and fringe benefits. Your beleaguered, and much poorer, longer term shareholders wouldn't be too unhappy about all of this if you hadn't allowed our share price to drop by 44% during your tenure in office, and if you hadn't presided over an almost total news blackout. The sp is very important to the shareholders and it needs a decent news flow. So: Why don't you and your fellow directors buy some shares? They are cheap you know and you did assure us that the new directors would be purchasing "substantial" shareholdings!! Apart from that you could easily find ways to publicise the prospects of INFA. That shouldn't be left in the hands of a couple of valient shareholders. Come on Adrian, wake up man. Don't lets have another long period of silence It's killing the share price. You can post your reply here. After all you posted a couple of weeks ago.
Drop in the ocean then if you excuse the pun :))))))
Is a great idea Naz However could only supply 20% of current UK power demand http://www.tidalenergy.eu/tidal_energy_uk.html
