1) Presumably DK has to close of play or midnight to make a further bid, or he will have to wait 6 months?
2) If he made a further bid and was not accepted, is there a way for smaller shareholders to accept the bid?
"CWU have been informed but there's an embargo on the result. DW to discuss tonight and what it means for the business. He'll also give an insight to how Labour will deal with changes to the USO but at the same time safeguarding a service that still delivers to every part of the United Kingdom at a uniform price."
Interesting 🤔

Cwu live session tonight 6pm on uso and takeover bid .
Sharif, in my opinion, no privatised industry should be "bought" back into public ownership. If a privatised industry that is critical to UK public life fails then it should be taken back for nothing by the government of the day. That is the very essence of privatisation and the free market.
On the subject of DW, he has been slated for his original post last month which suggested that DK buying IDS would be preferable to the current custodians. This statement has since been retracted probably due to the fact that it was a poorly worded statement and a video was sent out by Andy Furey to clarify the position of the union.
Do you have a link?
I’m not too sure. I doubt they’d be able to buy it back to be honest. Let’s not forget, we’ve had former labour politicians back the bid, so I think it is safe to assume that some current labour politicians may feel the same. That being the case, if they had a “good” meeting, it could be a thing where they’ve discussed the bid but lined it up to ensure it works in the best interest of all those involved.
Realistically, CWU shouldn’t back this bid at all, but because it’s DW things may be different. I’m seeing union members on social platforms disagree with his approach on a lot of things, saying he’s “out of touch” with union members. If that’s the case, a meeting that works in the best interest of all parties may mean a meeting that leans more favourably towards DW instead of the CWU, which will then turn out well for the labour party and DK’s bid.
Right now, I’m just thinking out loud so it’s all waffle. Only time will tell and there’s a few hours left until DK’s deadline
Is DW implying Labour would be buying Royal Mail back?
Is DW implying Labour would be buying Royal Mail back?
No deal
Breaking deal or no deal
Hi all,
Pleasure to e-meet you. First time posting in the chat so I’m hoping I make a good impression haha!
Just reflecting back on DW’s article from the CWU - on social media app ‘X’, before he shared his article, he stated he had a good meeting with Labour Party . How does one go from having a good meeting with a political party, to saying “news potentially breaking tomorrow”. Do you think they discussed this topic? If so, a “good” or “positive” meeting with CWU isn’t a good meeting for us that are holding shares haha.

Hurtsparrow, I had always been led to believe that the electric fleet would be leased? It would make sense as replacing the aging fleet would be extremely costly although I'm not sure who will be responsible for the maintenance contract? What is also noticeable is the amount of hire vehicles that RM are now using on deliveries although this contract may be more cost effective than repairing the older vehicles in the short term? Pre pandemic, the contract that my mail centre had meant that a medium sized car would cost £26 for a 24 hour hire and £130 for the week.
CWU "news potentially breaking tomorrow"
How inconvenient this statement is for the SP.
However it's convenient for those that manipulate the SP. Yesterday's drop followed by this morning's rise etc.
I shall sit tight and watch them playing their little games. Do a little short term trading when I feel lucky. Otherwise hold for gold.
Not related to the takeover but I didnt realise last year the company sold back the electric fleet they bought and now are leasing it back again!
Yes saw that one but scanned a little too quickly and didnt scroll down
I see the paragraph he was referring to now.
CWU clearly must have got that "news potentially breaking tomorrow" from a high up source

great to hear from you, your candles are still alight!
Let's all play DW bingo.
'expand the role of the postal worker'
BINGO!
DW has a history of using a malfunctioning calculator, big words, big idea's, big head but no math, how many times have we heard this only for him to get his calculator 6 months later say, o yeah...
Now is the time for the take over, if you ask me hes been told to put the pressure on DK, now IS the right time for the take over...
Im still just sitting patiently waiting, no trading just waiting for that rns drop, its coming i feel it this time, maybe there will be an extension and news released after hours tomorrow...
