Cinven and Hg have participated together in joint buyouts in the past.
For example the $5.3 bn buyout of Visma Group
It trades on Aim. Nothing makes sense there.
So no offer from Cinven but Ideagen has received proposals regarding cash offers for the Company from Astorg and Hg.
SP floundering at 217p. Something doesn’t add up.
Cinven seem like a pretty serious outfit. Recently bought stake in True Potential.
I think the value is higher than 330p a share especially since the companies Ideagen bought are still bedding in and were bought for long term value.
Glad I haven't got the RNS alerts on though!
I think offer would have to be a minimum of the 52 week high, around 330p I believe
offer likely in region of £3.40.....only rough guesstimate...IMHO.
DYOR
I'd take £4 !
It looks like a few of the RMS relate to closing short positions so possible that price is being held low to assist.
Also nothing is formalised yet so until an actual offer is made it is only talk......
would think the sp needs to be a lot higher yet in the event of a t/0.
Up another 8% today.
Ideagen shares climbed over 5% after private equity firm Cinven Ltd said it is considering a bid for the company, which provides compliance software for regulated industries.
Ideagen said in a statement that it has not been approached by Cinven about a possible takeover offer.
The statement follows an announcement from Cinven on 14 April confirming press speculation that it is in the early stages of considering a possible bid for Ideagen.
Cinven said it had not approached the Ideagen board and that there could be no certainty any offer would be made.
At last!
Looks like selling pressure has gone and a lot of big buys are going through
All of my shares up today, IDEA the only one down, very disappointing after placing at 270p
I get that it's still on the pricey side, I guess it always will be, but I really can't see the reason for the fall all the way from over 330 to this level, especially when it seemed to me the interims were cracking.
That is interesting .
Also JP Morgan has short position
Yes,definitely pricey. Watch for SP to drop after placing @ £2.70. ?????? . Available for retail investor fro PrimaryaBid. Offer closes in 3 hours
I always have a quick look at placings... 0.37p dividend on £3 a share seems a bit pricey at over 8000x dividend. That is a lot of growth priced in, especially if they are doing placings to grow.
City analysts approved of the purchases as Shore Capital reiterated its “buy” on the stock. Martin O’Sullivan, the analyst, applauded the rationale behind the acquisitions and said Ideagen should be considered as a “core holding in the UK software and IT services sector”.
Its shares closed up 3.2 per cent at 277p.
Big drop to take us back below 300p. Frustrating in these markets.
I am a long term shareholder, and they have done very well for me. I expect them to continue in that tradition
Nice "buy" recommendation in the Investors Chronicle.
