Well my "tin hats", has not happened so far, neither has the brace brace.
Stock markets who can understand them!!
Fingers crossed.
Gla
Brace brace
Clued, of course not all stocks will be affected but clearly there will be downward pressure across most stocks and markets. Uncertainty and fear only trigger sells.
For Oil Gas and Defence, of course that's a different perspective, but mind that this war is already priced in most defence stocks and Iranian oil is off the market anyway so can't see them making big jumps up either.
I would expect gold and bitcoin go up though.
But for IAG, brace ourselves, this is going to take a long time..
With oil not gapping up, i hope this will be good news for airlines.
Clued ,
Well said mate .
1863, Biden has said he won't help Israel with any attack on Iran. Also, if a nuclear missile is fired it'll be the start of the END !!
Marcinkus, would you include Defence & Aerospace and Oil & Gas in your 10% drop scenario for tomorrow ?!!
Markincus.
Unfortunately I think you are right. Markets will be affected by this until some kind of truce between Israel & Iran is reached. Can we see that happening? There is no military solution to the Middle East only a political one. A lesson we learned in Northern Ireland.
Iran is making a big mistake if it escalates this conflict further because Israel has an ace up it's sleeve. Three hundred nuclear warheads all being manoeuvred right now focussing on Tehran. Over to you President Bidon.
I think all travel stocks and the markets in general will shed a good 10% across the board on Monday. This because more than what happened, it is uncertainty that drives those fast and panicked sells.
Mind that it only took Iran to claim they would attack Israel to sink IAG and other travel stocks by 4%.
Now since Israel keeps saying they want to respond, I think the markets will take it badly and this will last for weeks.
It may have actually worked in the stock markets favour in my opinion that this happened on the weekend.
Seems like it may have minimal impact if nothing more happens today.
Let’s wait and see
Tom,
I also say always if US, Uk and France are that bothered about Israel why not sending 3m people to Manhattan , 3m people to London and 3m people to Paris and that should be end of this mess right ? Why would leave 9m people in middle of Muslim are and having this non stop war?
It all turns and comes back to war machines and profit end of the day .
Yeah, completely with you on that betterlife!
Tom,
I think they were lucky having us behind them as they shifted their big asset for military the day before it all worked in favour of Israel.
But bot Israel and Iran needs to be punished. How on earth can Israel bombs Iran embassy In other country?
On other had Iran how on earth sending arms to Hamas. Both idiots needs to be sorted asap .
Betterlife, I agree however Israel are at fault here, and sadly we’re backing them up for some reason.
Israel shot missiles into Syria 2 weeks ago, because they think they’re the big guys!
Iran is simply telling Israel to pipe down, also do we have any proof that these really were drones or missiles? It’s only Israel’s say so.
The timings were way off yesterday as to when they’ll arrive, I also saw fireworks going off in the background too. I have a video of it on my phone from BBC news last night. 🙈
The drones/missile reports were all over the place last night, we had reports of 100, 136, 300 and 500+ drones.
I had all news outlets on, flight trackers the lot.
300 fired including cruise and ballistic missiles. 99% shot down. Think that’s more Iran has been put in its place. What this does to the markets awaits to be seen.
Er..more like 300 missiles and drones: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-middle-east-68737710
Expect a huge drop tomorrow..and then several weeks (months?) to recover..2£ maybe by October
Good thing they already reopened airspace though, so maybe if they don't start tit-for-tat we might not end up in WW3:
"The air space was reopened this morning, an indication that the immediate threat is over. But Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has said the confrontation with Iran was 'not over yet'. The question now is about a possible Israeli reaction. Israeli authorities have vowed to retaliate to any direct attack from Iran, and the country’s war cabinet met overnight to discuss the situation. Iran, meanwhile, has warned of a severe response."
One good thing no one died yet.The 3rd world war is in door.Unless io Biden get removed immediately and Trump steps in .All these Ukraine war Gaza war only happened because him .The freaking guy mind is only set on wars .3 days ago says they won’t get involved with Iran and Israel war and the day before he shifts big military assets to Israel . Fking made your mind preak .That is why this war should go ahead either Iran or Israel should learn the lesson.Us should also stop feeding Israel .As much as Iran is in fault , Israel is also creating future danger zones .
What a rollercoaster this share has been this week!
At the start of the Ukraine/Russia war Iag fell by 6% on the day, hopefully Monday will be along the same figures. Short term pain long term gain.
Meh, not much is going on to be honest I reckon they’ve only sent about 5 drones and gone to bed!
Hopefully everyone will play nice tomorrow and it’ll all calm down, Israel need to know its place, and I think Iran are showing them their place.
"Permanent Mission of I.R.Iran to UN, NY
@Iran_UN
Conducted on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense, Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus. The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY"
Let's see if that's the end of the matter or NOT - I suspect the latter but let's see.
Retirement
Or Gold
Forget stock market for very long time i would say . Worst to come yet.
Full body protection is going to be needed.
This going to be another year of pain, get ready to relive 2022 again 😥
“Having said that I don’t see Iran being stupid enough to have an all out war, so hopefully things will settle.“
Stupid as it sounds, if they know they will be hit regardless, they might attack first to try to unite the entire Arab world. After all, what do they have to lose?
At the ready for Monday opening
