Danphonic : "Which is though geng, you contradict yourself." "TO A CERTAIN EXTENT"
All this chat is academic and just to pass some time, fundamentals don't have much effect on SP anyway.
My view is purely technical and that the GAP at £1.43 will close - make what you want of it but I've called all but one of the GAPS and channels correctly on IAG.
Sudenza: I don't short shares, but will buy some more IAG after the GAP has closed
Jtan, 250 would be nice. Hopefully by the end of summer, increasing oil price should not affect sp, that will be passed onto ticket prices and people will pay for a holiday, companies will pay for execs to fly to meetings (even if that number is down by 10-20%). That will be come the 'new' normal. Prices will climb, we have had it damn good (cheap) for over a decade now, we forget that.
Brokers are forecasting 200-220 not 400.
All of what has been announced is priced in. We know about inflation, and we know the demand for flights was actually coming back strong until omicron impacted. There's a big dand for holidays coming up and employment is high so this idea people are spending holiday money to heat homes is a **** take. If ur on the breadline ur not flying anyway
No more dry powder left top up if you can , expecting green close ….Dyor
Which is though geng, you contradict yourself.
Either - end of pandemic is priced in so will NOT affect SP
OR end of pandemic (tests and mask wearing) does affect SP due to demand ?
This share has a lot if issues, but you cant spin easing restrictions to have no effect. Everytime they ease SP rises. We still have all the big restrictions to be lifted. I.e testing , so yes SP will move on that news. Only a deramper would try to say other.
Geng, What a chance to short it then!! as you are so sure. Its a no brainer..good luck though!!DYOR.
I'd say the end of the pandemic is already priced in to a certain extent and not sure IAG will ever return to pre pandemic SP levels:-
Until the need to wear masks and take tests ends demand will still remain low.
We're also entering a period of highest inflation for decades.
Working practices have changed and many people have got used to working without flying.
Climate change restrictions/levies will start to be imposed on flying.
I'm hoping any bad news is priced in at this point. 160 is bloody cheap when compared to last year when nobody was flying. I don't know what can come up that will eclipse the end of the pandemic (it seems) I imagine fuel costs are the only headwind short term.
Why won't it happen? It looks inevitable, when not if
I guess $100 a barrel. Not good..but it won't happen. Pandemic ending soon, share price will go NORTH.. DYOR.
What will it do to energy prices if Russia goes to war?
Would it be cheaper to go somewhere hot and cheap instead of turning the heating on?
People will be spending their holiday money to heat their homes... just sayin!
Oil prices compounded by inflation (caused by oil prices) are the real headwinds here I reckon. Any results positive or otherwise will likely come with a warning on fuel costs. I'm hoping Biden or opec make some announcements about controlling the rise in $/barrel. Hopefully the oilers get greedy and start pumping more, drive the price down.
@Spar12,many thanks for your response. You guessed right about my average.Onwards and upwards it is.

Hey Fairly Look at the bigger picture Ukraine or soaring numbers means nothing…Russian economy is close to a collapse they are still suffering for annexing Crimea…
Most members here posting positive news recently try to focus on them ,don’t know about your average but shouldn’t be more then 200p hopefully soon you should be in profit dyor
@Spar12,Good morning.I have a huge holding in IAG,currently running at a loss. The news is constantly reporting that Russias attack on Ukraine is imminent, and that COVID figures are soaring in Germany. Can’t help but think that all of the above will send the sp down again?Looks like we are the only 2 awake at the moment,I’m curious to know your thoughts?

The S&P 500’s bloated tech stocks could soon be hammered by tightening monetary policy. And with interest rates rising, it might finally be time for the FTSE 100 to shine
Travel stocks IAG and Rolls-Royce could soar as pandemic restrictions are lifted
