Cheers.quite new to investing so good to know
If the bidder acquires more than 75% of the shares it can then delist the target. and if it reaches 90% it can forcibly acquire the remaining 10% though it must pay the same price to all shareholders.
What are the rules for the sale to go through. My understanding is they need 75% of shareholders to agree to this for the sale to go through and de-list. Am I correct???
3 months ago we hear from the CEO the "strategy is working". Why are we being forced out now with cash in the bank and 40% eps growth for a forward pe in the mid teens? Also does anyone have any ideas how the market was able to predict the offer price so accurately several days before the announcement?
Why ??
The board and the larger shareholders don't seem to think so?!?!
if you look at P/E then surely looking at an offer in excess of 350-400p? only £50-£60mil
No messages. Strange. This is a company that is going places. Just read the news/results and you will see how much growth potential this has.
so may be some more in the tank here, despite being close to multi year high ...looking for c150 to sell down to free carry...and then keep others for super long term gains
nice business
Very difficult, I agree. However any sort of discrimination (rather than blanket appliance) takes you down the (currently) unpopular road of deserving and undeserving poor. Unpopular, but more realistic/pragmatic (imv). Challenging to separate positive human traits (e.g. empathy) from the cynicism borne through experience. A range of views/attitudes is perhaps best for modern civilisation…as seen to a degree in modern society. I really wish the just and the moral to focus more of their efforts on rooting out the weeds (including from their own flower bed). The culture of denial/cover-up is profoundly disturbing. I'm no expert in theology, but I think most of the mainstream religions (and their adherents) are inherently optimistic, and therefore have a stronger benevolent force and a weaker malevolent. On a slight tangent now, the truly dualistic approach seems to provoke mass outrage amongst the more mainstream followers, i.e. Cathars/Catholicism and Yazidis/Sunni Islam. Likely to find yourself persecuted at the peak of a French hill fort/Middle Eastern mountain top! I looked up DSN around a year ago, and wasn't keen. I've had another look and it's much improved...will watch, thanks.
doh
it is difficult wrt the vexatious and esp the devilish.. ...easier to practice compassion in a monastery or some other unrealistically filtered paradise ...my sense is that it boils down to dualism (the presence of evil)...even avowedly monotheistic creeds like Christianity usually (and pragmatically) include a Satan..how otherwise to account plausibly for pain and pains in the neck lol?? ...so with Satan (and devilishly vexatious human followers) in the fray, it is stretching compassion too far (imv) to embrace evildoers...with makes compassion contingent and tricky ..or you can avoid the issue by avoiding VD and being compassionate to all that surround you...like wise monks do
interesting and thought provoking...may come back to you elsewhere on 1 ...I agree that here you have to buy into hydro's strong market position (I happen to have some detailed knowledge, but a little out of date...and don't want to give too much away by citing it) ...dsn?
Yes, I think it only amuses those who win or break even (or play with amounts that are de minimis to their financial position, perhaps). There's some interesting research out there on the way the brain reacts to winning/losing in investing and gambling. 1. Too subjective? Will be culturally inconceivable to many. I agree on dogma – it’s corruptible and a road to anxiety and intolerance (at worst, the mass hysteria of holy war). 2. That’s attractive sentiment, and is pragmatic enough to be realistic. Although it’s easier to see/feel when your own basic needs are fulfilled (hunger, housing, social engagement, arguably a degree of context driven financial freedom). 3. Totally agree, fundamental to functioning society. ...back in this game, is there much out there you'd recommend watching? I'll keep watching here - I don't have enough knowledge of the market and it's potential to be tempted at this rating.
those shares that shd have PIs purring are missed ... in insane headless chicken routine... scratching around for quick buck...in negative sum game ...no different from punting / losing down at the bookies ...and if it amuses them ok..but I reckon it feeds a miserable unexamined life of "missing out", social anxiety and anger ...there is another way: 1. Connect serenely with The Infinite Nothing (similar to old fashioned faith, but infinitely refined with all dogma and hierarchy dregged out) 2. Let compassion surge through your soul (similar to "Love", but neutral and disengaged... and not prone to confusion with bad love like "romantic" love aka objectification/shagging..or soppy love that let's evil folk triumph) 3. Contribute (similar to charity but no probs getting reward/paid lol) ..Pretty much the only secure Way to abundant, ever-flowing joy ...but few enjoy
But just needs a bit more volume? Surprisingly little interest on bb
error...cos what has risen a little looks like rising steadily ...worth looking at underlying metrics and strong market position ...DYOR, all
Well, never serious as I don't buy at top any more lol
yeah, but thats playing safe. It's got a long way to go imo though. Never looked at this share before.
this is serious ..fun ...rm2 doing well...pity I top sliced, really
