Hi WW .......if you watched level 2 yesterday 4 or 5 mms were all over the bid with low ball orders in . Took it down to fill big orders imho
JimV “ infact they pulled the priced down 2.38p yesterday for no reason”...... Nonsense.
You're right. I wanted 46p on the nail almost as a kind of game for myself since I'd predicted we'd get to 46. Missing things by a fraction of a penny seems to be a particular talent. My only talent. Happy for it to rise from here since I'm already invested. Can rely on the market to be perverse.
Mandrill / I think you should have taken the low yesterday , the MM`s are filling an order and pulled the price right down to grab any shares they could infact they pulled the priced down 2.38p yesterday for no reason other than scaring a few or triggering stop losses , the order may have to pay a much higher price ,
Oblate not oblique. Oblateness is 1/298th.
Just missed my 46 by 0.1p. Drat.
From my days in the Navy and learning how to navigate the worlds oceans, i believe the correct description for the earth's shape is an "Oblique spheroid"
Whichway ... stop describing my physique ...I.ll get a complex.
No. It's ovoid with a bulging equator and flattened poles. ;-)
pijoe,
"Is the worlds oil in fact a layer just below the mantal that in geo times past extruded into the solid surface layer?
I would suggest the last one - interesting theory’s from Russian some 30 plus years ago.."
Interesting theory. However for non-biogenic oil the best read is 'The Deep Hot Biosphere' by the late Prof Thomas Gold. pub Copernicus 1999. Foreward by Freeman Dyson. Includes description of drilling done in a meteroric impact crater in Sweden in the eighties, but with very equivocal results. Although his theory remains unproven, related stuff about the existance of deep anaerobic bacterial life has been borne out by research around thermal vents in Pacific Oceanic trench environments. Despite being a friend of Feynman (whose name is a household word to anyone with an IQ bigger than their hat size) and his long-standing professorship at Cornell, Gold is still considered a heretic by many and so his stuff is not taught (nor even mentioned) in most petroleum engineering and geology classes at undergraduate level.
However, the same goes for Fractured Basement.
What shall we argue about tomorrow?

Is the world round(ish)?
Is peak oil a work of fiction?

In the alternative try: to obtain legitimacy central government needs a fear that only central gov could tackle. It used to be the russkies and the Cold War. Has global warming replaced the ruskies?
Ricfle,
"If the above is correct you are a deluded moron."
I don't geddit. 'Sense of humour' is obviously not a phrase in your dictionary.
Neither myself (nor any 'shipwatcher' to my knowledge) caused the change in vessel.
Or do I have to say that yet slower ?
Adoubleuk
"The thing about the 'shipchange' is 99% sure. My 'reason' for it happening is 100% my own sense of humour. If you can't spot that... well... I give up."
------------------------
Lets suppose that what you say is correct.
You have managed to force Hurricane to change vessels, pay an expensive charter for nothing and potentially put back first oil.
Now you come on here boasting about the above and want a round of applause, stating it is due to some joke you played.
If the above is correct you are a deluded moron.
Ricfle,
'Deluded'
The thing about the 'shipchange' is 99% sure. My 'reason' for it happening is 100% my own sense of humour. If you can't spot that... well... I give up.
However, as I'm communicating with you (I haven't a clue why), by pure coincidence I've just (in the past half-hour) discovered the origin of the 'instant thumbs up' to your posts, how (approximately) it's generated, and who is responsible. But I'm not telling you who. I'll leave that for yourself to ferret out. You might be surprised...
What shall we argue about tomorrow?

"There was one supposed to be heading for Lancaster, but we were silly enough to mention its name here. That must have been 'spotted', so they've swapped ships on us! But we've found out..."

Deluded.
Adoubleuk!!!
Really? Why would they do that?
Mandrill,
" But we don't have any control over the ships"
Oh yes we do. There was one supposed to be heading for Lancaster, but we were silly enough to mention its name here. That must have been 'spotted', so they've swapped ships on us! But we've found out...
:-))
Get that, just wondered. Like looking out for the postman's van? But we don't have any control over the ships or anything else for that matter.
thanks Wessex, very informative and I am very appreciative indeed. Its always a pleasure to see the posts from yourself!
JohnP: What can you expect to happen next down there"
What we're expecting is:
- Aoka Mizu to go an a 'sea trial'. This will be a trip around the bay near Dubai so that the compliance engineers can complete all the testing required for the ship. It may take a few days.
- potentially a little longer in Dubai if there are any safety or engineering snags that have to be fixed before sailing.
- once certified, the ship will sail via Strait of Hormuz, past Yemen, Bab al-Mendab, Suez canal, and then to Rotterdam.
- at Rotterdam the moonpool plate will be removed, and the tip of the flare stack re-instated. (taken down due to height restrictions in Suez)
- then to Lancaster and a few weeks commissioning before official FOIL.
We are shipwatching because we like ships, their diversification of designs and their functions, not like motor cars which are built down to a cost and all look the same, exceptions being Bentley etc and the like. We are also heavily reliant on ships to progress this project, our monies are invested in them. We want to know they are being handled professionally and they're not going to get damaged or sink putting this project right back..
Because I might want to watch a ship thats why. mate
Mandrill,
"What's all this pre-occupation with ship watching?"
Not a pre-occupation. Just a way of passing the time. You know, while sitting in our country mansions or penthouse suites, stroking the girlfriend's knee, sipping on a Pina Colada, enjoying the way the sunshine reflects off the Ferrari's paintwork. Just a way of keeping track of our investment without having to speak with that boring old broker...
What's all this pre-occupation with ship watching?
thanks Mario, What can you expect to happen next down there. I'm just trying yo understand thats all
