The result looks very promising so far. Hopefully completed towards the end of the weekend.
AK/oilies(sorry); yes, appreciate the known fault system should physically separate the LanFax reservoir from linwick, and that the oil type (as witnessed by API) and differing owc's indicate separation; was just wondering, that's all. Just cos a major fault crosses a frac zone doesn't close all cross- connection; I'd expect the more highly fractured stuff to have some level of connection, even if ****- poor.
Might the hypothesised WW-LC have been established by a 'ping' from a small bit of red diamond 1.1? If the reservoir is v v large I'd have thought the slowness of pressure rate-change would be hard to reliably detect, so without a pyromech- type valve or some other shocking mechanism i'm struggling to believe the LC connection theory.
Good news so far though.

Flying pigs..
If I may? There is one very well documented occasion, something to do with a power station and a rope!
SG2,
" Could the intrigue/ interest of recent weeks be that Comms to Lancs have been observed?"
Pigs are not generally known to fly.
> Comms to Lancs have been observed?
Assumption was always that Lancaster connected Halifax.
Warwick to Lincoln.
There is a great big fault between them : so would be major surprise if Lancaster communicating with Warwick.
AK; intrigued by this as a noily: if P drop at LC was significant on flowing WD, that would be bad news, whereas a v small deltaP would be good. But do I detect a hint of possible use of energetic materials downhole, from which a 'ring' at WC would be detectable if the reservoir path is adequate. Could the intrigue/ interest of recent weeks be that Comms to Lancs have been observed?

Don't bet on it. Market doesn't seem to put much value on oil in the ground at the moment, only assets in or near production.
Just in case Mr C gets in on 12 Dec, maybe Hur should consider purchasing? Under Labour Centrica is at real risk of nationalization.
Who even cares about Spirit's price
wow,super giant field
that would put the sale price of
spirit into orbit
Mr Toad,
You make a very good point.
If WW has indeed communicated with the pressure gauge at LC then this could be a truly monumental find.
With regard to the DST, the well was initially flowed (flaring) for 24 hours before being shut in again.
Looking good today.
GLA.
I agree and when I heard the rumour last week about size of find, that was the first thing that struck me. In the past rumours have focused on oil being present, not on the size of the find, my immediate thought was of the pressure gauge on LC having been "communicated with". We can only hope.
Genghis,
"I saw the Twitter posts around that. Now, I don't know on what basis those were posted, or how even HUR/Spirit geos could be reading field size from data pre DST on WW."
I didn't see the twiller posts, other than what was re-posted here and elsewhere. But (as per previous post) I immediately thought of the gauges installed on Lincoln. Had some 'pressure transient' event occurred on Warwick that had been picked up by the gauges, and word got out? I can think of one or two things that could cause a 'pressure transient', but won't go into detail.
This is pure hypothesis and 'armchair drilling' of course, and may be way off the mark. But the rumours regarding SIZE did intrigue me...
"That recent rumour that this was a BIG find for HUR (was it 500 - 900 million barrels?)"
I saw the Twitter posts around that. Now, I don't know on what basis those were posted, or how even HUR/Spirit geos could be reading field size from data pre DST on WW.
What I DO know, is that HUR's High case for Lincoln is 4113MB OOIP, and 3C of 1537MB. Warwick is high case 2790MB prospective. So, a "giant discovery" of 500 to 900MB would not be at all surprising, imho.
