Can only see this going down today... bought on a little gamble few weeks back..
Steve Ashmore steps up to the podium for his maiden set of interim figures as new boss of HSS Hire (HSS) tomorrow (Wednesday). Ashmore took over the reigns at the tool and equipment hire firm on 1 June, having been UK managing director of distribution at rival Brammer. He had previously been UK MD at plumber Wolseley (WOS).
No posts as nothing to post, just waiting for this to hit it's historic low of 45p, just a matter of time. There is money to be made here, how much below 45p will it go? That is what sharedealing is all about!!!
No posts for 23 days!! zzzzzzzzzzz
Substantial rise in SP today in advance of tomorrow's trading update. Leaked info again or just pure hope that things are improving?
Just in time to present tomorrow's trading update!!
Steve ashmore ex wolesley and Brammer
Do we expect an announcement next week? Still no sign of a new leader? More branches closed this week? The current leadership certainly seems to have cracks in their strategy, the sooner a capable CEO is in place the better.
I doubt it at the mo. But hopefully they will obtain some strong leadership soon that has a defined plan and is willing to make difficult decisions and get themselves back on track. I.E. Speedy 1yr ago
Some improvement from Speedy can we expect similar from HSS?
Don't know anything about this new chap but I just hope he is a member of the Magic Circle 'cos he certainly needs to pull a few rabbits out of a hat and big ones at that. SP now at all time low. I can see a few shirts being lost on this one but if you look at Broker Ratings above it makes for interesting reading and just shows they know no more about it than we do.
"Alan Peterson, Chairman of HSS, said: "John has made an important contribution to the development of the business since joining HSS in 2009. As CEO from September 2015 he has led the Company through a period of significant change as we implemented our new operating model. With this work now largely complete, the focus shifts to driving sales growth through the new network and the Board believes it is the right time to look outside the business for a new CEO who can lead this next phase of our recovery." Who writes this drivel?????????????????
A bit of sentiment (I know, probably no space for sentiment in business) The UK generally has seen some big name disappear, with this in I hope there is no naïveté appointing the right CEO. As far as I'm concerned a business will only be as strong as the CEO and senior team running it...Wouldn't pay AM in choccy buttons.
Exactly. I find it really strange that I was jumped on and accused of stirring it for holding a similar opinion. Maybe Bigned is one of the brainwashed believers. Me ? I would hate to think how many lives AM has affected overtime
Just interested to know why you think SC was shafted by Speedy for pathetic reasons. It's not a confrontational question. I'm genuinely interested as I believe having such a major hole in the accounts under 'your watch' meant he had no choice as the CEO but to stand down - (I still hope people can have a conversation on here without getting their knickers in a twist that someone might have a different view ala bigned)
Not sure about turning the company around, he has difficulty turning himself around. Wouldn't know which way up was if he had two guesses !
Wow - there's a Keyboard warrior right there. When you've finished trying to be the forum police please grow up and realise that anyone can comment and give an opinion in a public forum. Turns out I do have shares in HSS not that it matters Do you believe A.M would be the person to turn these round then big man ?
Mr Shearer was appointed to the exec board of SDY under the recommendation by tosca due to his history of successful turnarounds. Unless the milk turns out to be sour at SDY on May16th, some might question whether he may bring more value in a similar capacity elsewhere? As we've seen from recent history, major shareholders can influence these kind of things to happen. I'm not saying that David Shearer should be the next CEO, and I agree SC would be a good choice, especially more than AM that's for sure, but surely a good CEO with a David Shearer on the premises is better than just a good CEO?
Why would Mr Shearer swap sides for this lot? If he's got anything in him he should be sitting pretty at SDY. Now, if SC got the job here, and why shouldn't he as he was shafted by SDY for pathetic reasons, then I would buy in here in a flash. It would not surprise me if he did. He's the type of person that HSS needs.
Perhaps tosca should of been making a fuss about hss last summer instead of speedy. Makes you wonder why they stuffed some more change under hss' mattress post apocalypse? I wonder whether Dave will make a move to the blue team around September time.....
Is there a profitable division to sell? Even if there is they couldn't afford to sell it. A Rights Issue would need to be substantial, £150m+ (?) and that would dilute share value substantially. The only people likely to buy would be II's and desperate PI's who think that averaging down is a good investment strategy (LOL). Would anyone want to risk more money on this? Unlikely. They need a new CEO with drive, vision and focus who can restore confidence and profitability to a business that has huge competition on both prices and service levels. The appointment of anyone who does not have a proven track record of turning a business around will see the SP dive even further IMHO. It will be interesting to see who wants the job.
How to turn it around with no cash. Sell a division? Multi million £ share issue?
I dare say HSS are not the 1st and won't be the last to have turbulent times. I would agree appointing business folks that haven't had a great track record is not the smartest move. Hewden, phones4u....yes they have a common trend, but maybe the next few months will be a shake up??
Thought we'd got rid of you, you and your boyfriend red army go back to the SDY board, you have no shares in this company just trying to stir up sh it, leave HSS alone, this company if given the chance will turn things around.
FFS If that happens then I'll be calling it quits and selling up at the current awful share price but at least before they disappear into oblivion
