MS rating upgrade HMSO to 36p ? Am I reading that correctly :)
I am not able to see how raising money by committing to a long term interest rate of 7.5% until 2028 can be a wise move. Interest rates might well fall. Also, paying off the 3.5% Bonds which do not mature until 2025 doesn’t seem to make much sense. Better to just invest the cash required to pay them off - possibly at a higher rate of interest, until it is needed. However, it does, of course, provide certainty in a very uncertain market. Possibly that is why the price rose to 25p this morning, after having fallen to 23.8 on Friday after the news.
Paying a bit more interest, lower profitability. Guess however buying back the 3.5% may be a good move if they are trading well below par..
What does this mean for us investors .not looking very bright .
I agree, we've had an incredible rare green week and it's done nothing but fall. Time to get into the lifeboat I think. The S.S Rolls Royce awaits.
That, of course, remains to be seen. The success of the Directors will be measured by their ability to complete the current proposed disposal programme successfully. In the present very difficult market for commercial property, that does, of course, represent quite a challenge.
Payment date is 02.10.23 on Divi.
SP to rise above 24pence because it is well run by Senior Execs
Hammerson represents a good long term investment - prices have been “marked down” today to permit those wishing to invest in the longer term to buy at a favourable price. Based on the current rate of payment of dividends, the return is about 6%, however, this year, only 90% of the profits are being paid out as dividends, so this has the effect of enhancing the value of the shares. The price is likely to settle at about 24p now for quite a long time.
Now the dividend is over what are the chances of this actually rising?
As expected :( could do with some good news hammerson !
Looked like an engineered dip prior for someone to get a free carry on the dividend.
Ex - Divi date is Thursday 24th.
Will notice SP movement next week after Bank holiday
Wondering if this will drop even more after the 23rd August ?
Its starting to look appetising again imo
This is all due to general market conditions elsewhere.
HMSO is managed well by Senior Managers
Jesus, what a poor performance:(
On a different tack disappointing to see Resilient exiting / and now LTE selling down as not happy with HMSO's dividend policy of only distributing 60-70 % of annual adjusted earnings. Unattractive relative to HMSO's peers.
What's ya thoughts

''''As stated in the subsequent Dividend Declaration announcement released this morning, the interim dividend is payable on Monday, 2 October 2023 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on Friday, 25 August 2023.''''''
so the EX-DVD day is 26th? I had it down 24th - let's hope there is no more muddling
Can't miss that
HMSO has to have been a main beneficiary of the last months rainy weather.
Always better to shop under cover and normally also with free or minimal parking fees directly next door.
