Investec analysts said: 'Halfords cash generation means it can ride out the current, very challenging, short-term market environment without impacting its strong balance sheet or its future capex plans, and is well-positioned for when markets recover to deliver material profit upside.'
Downbutnotout - "250,000 buy spotted 142p"
Yes and the price still fell? May be more yet being supplied to the market? Is their a big seller trying to reduce/bail?
Downbutnotout, no one cares.
A bid is more likely now. The fall is roughly in proportion to PBIT expectations, but that's only for one year and not the basis to judge a business (as it would mean a company with £0 profit is worth £0). Oversold?
I need a bit lower for my 2nd buy
Buys come in when this dips under 140
These were under £1 when covid struck. just saying.
Mary, I am one of those unfortunates who initially bought in at £2.30 and the foolishly 'jumped on a spike' the other week at £2+. Still living in hope here that northgate or another will bid !
U.K. shares are now known in the city as “ the bug zapper trade “, if you are daft enough to buy brexit basket case U.K. shares you just get zapped and your capital vaporised. No wonder they are all trying to relist their companies elsewhere.
Better to wait until about 120p
Everything that misses forecast is getting punished in these markets.
Far better to let it find its floor rather than catch a falling knife.
Don’t think this will see any resistance until at least 130
And then some more on day 2
Position today and fill your boots tomorrow.
GL all
Profit warning usually 30% drop

From the FT
Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell, said the updated guidance meant “Halfords has gone back to days of old where it would regularly disappoint with earnings guidance and always have some excuse as to why its business is not running smoothly”.
In for some at 141.5p not too many tho
Of course I'm biker, there outlets not great, lot racing bikes and more expensive bikes a il on line, big selection mountain bikes, very little boardman 4 viewing, clothing poor.
"massively different customer base"
I don't agree at all. Even their inhouse brands are comparable. I'd say Pinnacle bikes are inferior to Boardman by some margin.
Evens vs Halfords, lol, when I bought Mark's & Spencer's shares I didnt compare it to primark, neither are wrong but massively different customer base.
It was sell earlier!
150k buy nice
Slipperman55, I'm by no means defending Halfords Cycles, they're incompetent.
Geronimo
Going for 1st tranche .... must be near bottom .
Sub snooker racking 147p - a sign for me. Got to feel for those who chased the £2+ entry.
