Personally, I would keep it and I would bring in the right resource to get it working right. I can imagine that the board have already done this, although this is only speculation on my part.
The improvements in the B2B sector can only impact positively on either advertising or business disposal income.
In fact, I imagine that this may affect the board's stance on disposing of that part of the business.
Is it time for the board to make an updated statement to reflect the change in prospects?
Perhaps they may seek to consolidate that part of the business instead of disposing of it.
Interesting article from the company which Future hired to sell Smartbrief.

Yeah no director buys at this level but Jon S did buy 90,000
at over £8 May last year which is not an insignificant purchase but also not unusual for an incoming CEO. Still like tonto see that as having a decent degree of confidence in the business and himself as could have made much smaller purchase. Tend to think the shorts will exit soon as macro hopefully improves, rates come down and Jon delivers on his strategy.
I'm puzzled why directors not filling their boots at these levels, been a complete downward spiral since Zillah left. GLA
Yes it certainly feels that way. Suspect the 4 shorters are affecting things somewhat given the weak advertisement environment and concern around AI. Increasingly to me looks like share price is well detached from fundamentals with a lot of risk baked in. Even a small turning of the tide may well be enough to start a powerful reversal. Here’s hoping as I’ve been adding regularly at £5.80-£6.20 range.
Go.co and Dennis cost 900m GBP couple of years ago, and our market cap right now is 670m. Crazy times.
S4 Capital.
Could you clarify what SFOR means ( unless ypu mean SOFR) ?
Thanks
On EV/EBIDTA basis Future is valued less than SFOR where investor's confidence was completely destroyed.

‘With any exciting new technology there is the risk its impact can be over-estimated in the short term. We believe the potential negative impacts of AI have in some instances been overstated – for example, in the case of digital publisher Future (FUTR) or enterprise translation provider RWS (RWS), which also has its own leading machine translation offer. Some companies are already using AI to make their businesses more efficient – we expect more of this but it will be a relatively gradual process.’
The FCF yield is getting ridiculously high now, this should worth minimum 9-10 per share based on that one. No buyers left just algo trades. A bid would not be a surprise at these levels.
FY24 i estimate revenue 800m, adjusted OM 30%, adjusted OP 240, -81 adjusted items, -20 incremental costs, -15 investment costs, -28 finance costs, PBT 96, tax 23%, profit after tax 74m, what are your opinions on these numbers?
In regards to shorts i recall when sp was 3768 with mcap of 4.57b significantly overvalued on all basis but today we have an sp of 596 and an mcap of 687m and valuation is at preferable value for entry. Only negative IMO is high goodwill but positives are low manageable debt and business highly cash generative with good profit margin, opinions please?
They pay down debt and back shares. They will be in a good financial position in a year. Especially if they manage to sell Smartbrief on a decent EBIDTA multiple.
Why does Future not pay a higher dividend? The yield is ridiculous compared to the earnings. Does anyone know what Future does with the wad?
Painful I totally agree. But I do think behind the scenes they will be finding ways of embracing AI and with regards original content they will be OK. A lot of copyright lawsuits will start coming into play so AI ain't going to take over FUTR world. Once they find a way to embrace it they have tge foundations to capitalise on it. Difficult period but the numbers speak for themselves, its all sentiment. Things are pretty stable with numbers, just not much growth forecast short term. I am holding and looking forward to the shorts closing. In twelve months I think it will be a different story here if your prepared to wait. I contacted Mark Slater who has had this in his fund for years. They know the company well and they stated they will hold for the long term.
I don't mean to add to the air of general despondency on this board, but I can now buy this share for under six quid, ffs! Seems to be no sign of a bottom either.
Jeez, what an investing backwater the London market has become! Nobody's buying, nobody's putting money into the market, in fact it's all been sucked out. All gone to America, or to bonds, or to bitcoin, or cash.... I feel so like I'm fighting a losing battle when I buy UK equities. Year after year, the opportunity cost is immense...
British ISA? My*rse!
Does anyone think there'd be no buyers of FUTR shares at such mad prices if it were listed in America?
Total
Question re short positions, is the % shown relating to holders holding or the total shares for the company
My initial thought was that its an existing shorter increasing their position. Qube or Marshall Wace possibly? However, I take note of your comments about the recent trades.
Looking at the individual trades over past two days its clear that there is a large institutional seller in the market - there are a large number of 10k, 15k, 20k, 25k and even a 55k sell trade - if this is an existing holder then we should see a RNS over next day or two - if it is a new short seller they need them to accumulate over 0.50% to make their position public (which should be soon at this rate). My initial worry from yesterday was that some negative trading data had leaked from the company but after two days of radio silence from the company I've dismissed this. I'm not overly concerned if its an existing holder selling, in fact it might represent a good buying opportunity once the selling stops. Either way we should find out in very near future. GLA
My view is they will be doing a lot of research in how to integrate AI into the business. Once they make this plan public it will turn around.
Something going down from the look of it.
