AHL are short about 8 million quid
They are 0.9% short so if its reduced it will be public.
What makes you think that? Can’t see anything at the moment.
4x £2m trades after hours it seems, 772.50 then 792.79
Looks like AHL may have drastically reduced their short position. However we may not learn anything of this due to changes in UK government requirements. They don't have to publicly disclose their positions anymore and can be up to 0.2% short before they have to notify the FCA.
So if the AHL short position drops to below 0.2% presumably they don't have to tell anyone?
I also hold Asos, but the chat board is just madness at the best of times.
Hard to say with UK shares at the moment as they’ve been getting pounded on a whiff of bad news. US inflation data to be released today should see movement either way.
Target price over the medium term was a tenner, but with the buy back looks like it will come sooner.
Also hold ASOS buy the way as a long term recovery stock.
Craig, I think it’s important to make your own decision with what your target is and how comfortable you are holding.
These boards can be counter-productive at times with numbers being bandied about… however, this is a more sensible board compared to the likes of ASOS which is like a circus
Sold out in the 1200’s, buying back in . This dropped to low. It’s a good opportunity.
Well I am in for medium term and expecting at least 1200 pretty soon. Much higher in the longer term I think. These shorts should be closed pretty soon is my guess and that will help short term price. Expect some news in August once three months from Director purchase has passed. My view only. But I also contacted Mark Slater who holds this in his recovery fund and he confirmed they were holding. That's good enough for me.
£10 possible? based on the buyback.
Hard to work out we’re this will go.
Great stuff!
Fantastic to see this back over £8, especially given the buyback hasn’t even started yet.
Up over 20 % on this, struck in 2 minds whether to bank profits or hold for further gains based on historical prices and share buy back programme.
Time for shorters to pack their bags and head off. Leaving on a jet plane, maybe. I'd try flying off with RR. if I was allowed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is profit taking as it’s been quite a leap.
Will be interested to see how quickly they can get the GM done and buyback under way .
Shucks, whenever I post anything here the share price drops. I must have the golden touch or something. Maybe the leaden touch?
I expect this will pick up again once the American market wakes up.
Shore Capital issued a BUY recommendation when the price was in the 1400s back in February. So that would indicate almost a 100% rise on where we are today. It shows how difficult it is to predict short term share price movements.
The board have been considering the best way to return value to shareholders for some time now. This is a nice reward for long term holders of the stock.
BUY recommendation out.
This may prompt AHL to close their position.
JPMorgan raises Future price target to 1,900 (1,845) pence - 'overweight'
Brilliant news, nice to be invested in a company that has the shareholder’s in mind.
10% each year!
It seems that the Employee Benefit Trust likes it at this price. Bought 5 times as many as the CEO. Come on fella, dig deep.
Some protected transactions going through which appear to be purchases at a slightly discounted price. Not reported as purchases on here. Make you own mind up.
643k shares for 692p. Decent buy.
I'm considering a buy for the missus if this drops back to the 620 mark again. Better than a gold necklace at this level. Our anniversary is on 15th July.
